Great Frame Up At Lionsgate

I had two small photos to frame (5×7 and 8×10) and wanted them done professionally. I saw a groupon-​type deal (spend $ 40 for $ 100) and purchased it to use there. The woman helping me was a bit patronizing. I found a frame to complement another one I have with a white mat for the smaller picture and decided to go with a more basic mat and frame for the larger picture.
She never asked me what type of glass I wanted or gave me price options. I had my toddler with me at the time so I was a bit distracted from noticing. when she told me how much I owed… $ 180 (with the $ 100 «discount») I was a bit shocked. I told her I would just find another frame for the larger photo. I still owed her $ 25. really? a 5×7 photo cost $ 125 to frame? again, my toddler kept me from really arguing it and I had to justify in my head that it wasn’t as outrageous as I thought.
I’ve had pictures framed everywhere from Michaels to small, independently owned shops and this was by far the most expensive. They finished framing the picture pretty quickly. When I went to pick up my picture, the person helping me argued that I still owed the $ 25. The other person didn’t mark anywhere that I had prepaid my balance. Finally I was able to convince him. Really though?
So, the frame job is really average. Thankfully it looks fine next to my other photo. One of the pads on the back already fell off though so I had to prop a paper behind it until I spend more money on my tiny photo to make sure it hangs on the wall properly.
There are MANY better and less expensive frame shops in this city. I’m sure they marked up the frame job to compensate for the discount, but regardless, it’s not worth your time.
