The Raven is a must stop on a night out in oswego. Full bar, great selection of top shelf and beers. The renovation from a few years ago makes it really easy to get a drink(lots of bar space) but it is always packed. Go here to party with friends not for intimate conversation. The raven would be a four star bar if not for the men’s room situation.

Full disclosure: went to HS with the owner and he’s a great guy. My review however is strictly based on my experience going there. I’ve gone twice-once a few years ago and most recently, within last 4 weeks. When it’s not busy(i.e. college kids aren’t yet back in town or it;s before 12am), you can really appreciate the beauty of the bar(lots of warm tones) and its cozy atmosphere. Two fireplaces keep the place toasty in winter. Chris(owner) has great taste in both top shelf liquor and beers-lots of microbrews and the prices are ridiculously reasonable(another perk from leaving DC). The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is of course the bathrooms. They’re big but one person only and like most bars in a college town, «rough.» But who cares? The rest of the bar(the important parts) are awesome!

Nice crowd, small crowd. I stopped in for a beer to wash down my recently devoured calzone from around the corner. The Raven is a pretty good sized place. It looked decent inside, but watch out for that men’s room. Two toilets, no urinal. The toilets are out in the open air, with no seats and no toilet paper. I guess when you need to ‘do your business’, they expect you to take your business elsewhere. I did.
