History
Established in 1980.
Precision Tile and Carpentry has over 35 year’s experience in the tile and carpentry trades. Terry and his wife started in a trade school in California with a focus in tile. They were so determined to finish their schooling that they spent long days and nights studying to critique their technique. The professors and advisors noticed their hard work and helped them every step of the way, turning a two year program into just eight months. Upon completing the program they move right into the field as journeymen tile setters instead of a two year apprentice. After a few years of installing tile Terry realized he needed to know more about the building trades. So he put tile aside to take a job with a high end construction company. He started as a laborer hauling wood while still doing some tile on the side just to make ends meet. Within five years’ he move his way through the company to become a finish carpenter. With the experience in tile and carpentry we now make your visions a reality.
Meet the Business Owner
Terry C.
Business Owner
Terry and his wife are both from the Chicago land area but met and got married in Arizona. After being married for a few years they had two wonderful children. they lived and traveled the west coast for ten years before returning to the Chicago land area to settle into their roots. Now Precision Tile and Carpentry is ran by Terry and his son Shayne. Terry brought his son in at a young age to begin teaching him about work ethic and to pass on the knowledge that he had acquired. After bringing him on weekends and summers terry noticed he had eye for design and the knowledge of computers which would become a valuable asset to the company. At the age of 30 Shayne became a full time partner in the family business. Although he is still learning the art of tile, He still brings valuable resources forward.
