We are a full service salon and day spa featuring Redken haircare, Bioelements skincare, Mirabella Mineral Make-​up, OPI nail polish, CND Vinylux polish and Gelish gel polish.

Offering all hair services, facials, body and facial waxing, Brazilian waxing, manicures, pedicures, Swedish, pre-​natal, couples and deep tissue massage, airbrush and regular make-​up applications and special occasion hairstyles. We love wedding parties and brides!

We also have many spa packages to choose from too. Gift certificates always available for any service or dollar amount at our salon and spa or through our website.

History

Established in 1998.

Mane Attraction started as a small 3 operator salon in fall of 1998. After outgrowing our first location we moved to our second location in 2001. Our second location was an 11 chair full service hair salon. In 2006 we moved to our current location at 1780 S Koeller where we have a stand alone building that was built solely for use as a salon and dayspa. We have state of the art equipment and the best trained stylists, massage practitioners and estheticians in Oshkosh. We added the spa services when we moved to our new location so we could offer Oshkosh a great relaxing place to pamper you in a convenient west side location. We continually strive to improve our service menu so we can tailor all of our services to the wants and needs of our guests. We have quarterly in-​salon training for our licensed staff as well as attend many other educational events. Some of our staff currently volunteer for many different civic organizations.

Business Owner

After beginning in the cosmetology business in 1982 and working for some wonderful local salons Lynne decided to branch out on her own in 1998. While working behind the chair and running the business takes up much of my time I still enjoy watching my staff grow and become wonderful service providers through the associate training program that my salon and spa offer. I also volunteer my time with the Look Good Feel Better program through the American Cancer Society and am a member of BNI and the Women’s Division of Oshkosh. I am married and have two wonderful children, and 3 spoiled pets at home. In my spare time I love to decorate and sew items for my home and socialize with friends and family.

I’ve had my legs waxed here twice, and it’s been… ok. Danielle does a great job with the actual waxing — she’s clearly done this a few times before and gets everything off with a minimum of messing around, so no complaints about the actual service. However, some inconsistencies between my two appointments have sort of irritated me.
My first appointment was a Saturday afternoon. I called in the morning to confirm (thinking it was odd that they hadn’t called me) and they asked if I could come 15 minutes earlier. Sure, no problem. They called me back an hour or two later and said never mind, she’s running behind, come at the original time. Not a huge inconvenience, but a little annoying. As it turned out, it was the last appointment before they closed, so when we finished up an hour later, there was just one other employee left, which felt kind of weird. For my second appointment, I received a reminder text and there was no horsing around with changing it – did they change systems in the meantime?
Also, I was originally quoted $ 65 for a full leg wax. When I mentioned during the appointment that I had been referred by a friend, they said they would give me their $ 15 referral discount. When it came time to pay, they said the usual price was $ 70, so my discounted price was $ 55, not the $ 50 I was expecting. But at my second, full-​price appointment, they only charged me $ 65. I know it’s only five bucks, but come on, be consistent!
Service at the front desk has also been hit or miss. Maybe I’m just spoiled by Aveda, but I’ve grown accustomed to feeling a a little more welcomed — for instance, they have a coat rack, so maybe you could take my coat for me? Also, on the second visit I was asked if I had filled out the waxing form, which I definitely did not see on the first visit. If I decide to keep waxing, I’ll probably keep coming back, but with fairly low expectations.
Finally, it’s a bit tricky to find. As they described it to me, it’s the driveway between the dollar store and the Fairfield Inn. Otherwise, you will drive right by and never see it, since they’re tucked waaaaay back behind the hotel.

We came in together, the three sisters we are, to celebrate a birthday and the gals that took care of us were delightful and chatted with us as well as letting us share our stories while pampering us. What a treat!
