Description

Specialties

Buttermilk Falls CSA is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm nestled among the forests and prairie lands of the beautiful St Croix River Valley just 45 minutes from the Twin Cities. Named after our pristine waterfall, Buttermilk Falls CSA offers members lovingly grown organic produce, a beautiful, natural site for retreats and an enlightening folk school.

History

Established in 1989.

Buttermilk Falls is a project of Philadelphia Community Farm — one of the first CSA programs in the midwest, and has hosted groups of all ages from far and wide for over 25 years. We are honored to be carrying on the tradition of biodynamic farming practices, living in community, and providing a site for essential nature-centered educational programs and retreats.

Meet the Manager

Lindsey R.

Manager

Lindsey has enjoyed the evolution and growth of the non-profit community farm for many years… beginning about a decade ago when she completed an Americorps position onsite, not unlike a farm internship. She departed after a couple of garden seasons to travel and continue her education, but has happily returned to the farm upon its founders’ retirement to co-manage day-to-day operations. She served the organization alongside 5 other co-workers and a number of full and part time residents, of varying age and ability.
