Lotus Boutique Inn & Suites

Whenever I come back to Daytona, this will be my go-​to place to stay. I loved it that much.
Location: This hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the Ocean Walk Shoppes. That may be the only down-​side to it. The parking lot is very tight, be careful. There is a 7-​Eleven and a liquor store right across the street. You may need to rent a car to get around. That was my mistake. I took an Über everywhere. I even walked to Bonefish Grill because it was that close.
Room: This hotel is the most modern looking hotel on the strip. It has an art– deco style with a lot of simplistic furniture in the rooms and the front desk. We stayed in room 208 which had the BEST view on the second floor. The view was amazing. You can literally walk down a few steps and your on the beach. It felt very intimate; like it was your own private entrance.
It had one large window, which you should be mindful to close while getting undressed because the patios are shared, so people may walk by and see you. The windows are tinted though. The shower head was my favorite. You cannot smoke on the premises.
The cleaning staff and housekeepers were just amazing. They are the best.
Since it was too chilly during my stay, I didn’t get the chance to utilize the heated hot tub or the pool. From the looks of it, everyone else seemed to be enjoying it. I used the fire pit several times. I usually used it at night and sat around talking to other couples, just laughing and having a good time. They shut down the fire pit at 11pm.
They do not serve breakfast at all. They do have complimentary yogurts, muffins, and free coffee/​water whenever you need it throughout the day. This is served in the lobby.
I really loved the staff member, which I think was the owner, of the hotel. He was so sweet, and informative. He smiled a lot and was just super laid back. I wish I would have gotten his name. He was working non-​stop from Friday– Sunday night .The reason I did not give this hotel 5 stars was because of the horrible customer service during checking out. This lady had a crappy attitude which left a sour taste in my mouth about this place. I asked her a simple question, and she gave me a sarcastic answer. I walked out.
Overall, I would recommend.

First time staying there. This hotel is fully renovated and not cheesy like many on the area. Room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. Had big TV, walk in shower with rain shower, kitchen, microwave, and fridge. Pool area is nice and has access to the beach. Only little issue was the parking lot is tiny and was full every night so we had to park across the street. Would definitely stay here again

We are a young 20’s couple who wanted to get away from Miami’s noisy ways and relax for a few days before starting college again. This place was very comfortable, adequately priced (~$ 75/​night) for their cheapest room, and quite modern compared to its competition. The room was clean, modern, and although on the small side for 4 people walking around, for the price it looked better than the other ones down the street. The only downside was the breakfast. All they had was coffee, orange juice, apples, green bananas, and some muffins. We ended up going to a very nice IHOP just a few blocks down. We actually noticed that this place is really too quiet when we went — it was cold weather and grey skies and fog for all 3 days. Aside from that, the pool looked nice, and there’s a fire pit ready to be lit whenever you are. Free wifi and parking is included. We booked on

Beautiful boutique suites, with gorgeous, clean, and very large suites that overlook the beach. The grounds are very well manicured and appealing. They honestly know what people what when they want to get away and relax. It’s right on the beach too, so super easy access and not overcrowded. I will always stay here when I come visit again.

My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway and had a marvelous time. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated in a modern style. They had an early-​evening happy hour in the lobby with free wine and beer. All in all a very relaxing trip
Keep in mind that this is a «boutique» hotel, so it doesn’t have all of the amenities that a larger place would, but you have the benefit of being right on the beach rather than having to take a long walk. It’s also not really appropriate for families, so leave the kids at home and enjoy a quiet, adult time.

The room was clean (except for a few bugs along the ceiling) and comfortable. Towels soft and absorbent. But only 2 beach towels in our room even though we had 3 people. There isn’t much for blankets on the beds, which probably isn’t typically a problem. But it was 40 degrees overnight and we froze. The heater didn’t kept the ocean side of the room warm. Our room on the 3^rd (and top) floor has a toilet/​shower room separating the two bed areas. Nice for privacy, not great for distributing heat! Each bed area had a tv, we didn’t turn either of them on. No one in the pool area (cold and windy outside) but we swam in a clean and nicely heated pool for a while. Stuck our legs in the spa hot tub then relaxed in a sheltered lounge chair. We did not need the staff at all. The espresso machine others raved about is nothing more than what you’d find in a convenience store. It uses non-​fairy creamer:(

My husband and I frequently stay here while visiting family in Ormond Beach. This was probably our fourth visit and likely the last. We travel a ton, stay in lots of hotels and this was the worst experience we’ve ever had. We rented one of their nicer rooms and we’re treated horribly. The staff continually becomes younger and more unprofessional. We were harassed when using the pool and were completely disregarded when asking for extra towels. We did not feel safe. Our room was not cleaned one of the days and the new bedding we requested and had to put on ourselves was stained and thread barren. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told three times they would contact me and still never have been. Not one manager was working during the entire weekend we stayed, Fri-​Sun. It’s very slim pickings in Daytona Beach for a decent hotel but I highly recommend not settling here.

Top Hotel in Top Lage. Wir waren 2 Nächte hier. Das Zimmer war modern eingerichtet und sauber. WLAN funktionierte super. Es liegt direkt am Strand von Ormond Beach welcher auch super ist. Das Hotel hat auch einen Pool und der war sehr sauber wie auch die Liegen und Sessel. Eines der besten Hotels auf unserer Florida Rundreise.

Loving it so far got a free upgrade. Free happy hour. Breakfast in the a m. Will come back.

We stayed here for one night with two kids and my only complaint is the room is a little small. What space there is, is laid out very thoughtfully. This is an old fashioned Florida hotel/​motel made into something special. I like the décor very much, although my little ones could barely use the sink in the bathroom, because it sits so high off the ground. In the future, I will understand that a «boutique» hotel is not for families:)) The pool (small kids would have trouble exiting the pool from anywhere but the stairs because they have to reach way up to grab the wall-​not too fun) and the lounging area would be best suited for couples, as well as a fire pit that the front desk clerk said they would light for us any time. There are some extras here that show a customer driven/​friendly mentality. Continental breakfast with a really nice huge coffee machine that makes great coffee and espresso/​cappuccinos. There is a happy hour with wine and cheese-​we didn’t partake in that but again-​sounds great for couples. Parking tight but they had other lots close by just in case. I’d say you have to give points for the mgmt. for trying to make the experience special. I would not return (I don’t travel without kids) but I would happily recommend it to couples/​singles.

Excellent! Remodeled and really ‘hip’. Like South Beach. Comfy beds, great décor, friendly helpful staff, nice pool and hot tub. did I say on the beach? Frig/​microwave in room. Comfortable, spotless. Don’t miss!

We love this hotel! I don’t know which is my favorite: the (free) espresso machine, the fire pit, pool and lounge area, the fact that it’s not overcrowded, is located right on the beach or the design of the rooms (the king and double with kitchenette is a great size and set-​up)! This is the second time we’ve stayed here and I know we’d be disappointed anywhere else.

Overpriced. The rooms had a dividing wall that kept one half temp controlled and the other half without a vent, which made it maybe 10 degrees warmer.
An unusual «boutique» experience in that it was full of kids. The staff seemed overworked and the parking situation was rather difficult.

If the room had been cheaper, I’d be willing to give another star. But for the price, no way.
I had some family business to take care of in Daytona, and wanted to stay somewhere nice so I turned to Unilocal and saw the good reviews. The hotel room itself was very nice and updated with tile floor, a great bathroom and a mini fridge, and it was mere steps from the beach, but other than that, I think you can definitely do better.
Perhaps it was the time of year but the hotel was booked pretty solid with families. When I booked my room, I opted for an «oceanfront» room (which of course costs extra). What I got was a first floor room that was actually poolside, so I was treated to the sights and sounds of screaming kids at the pool pretty much the entire time I was there. Awesome. There were also kids in the hot tub the entire time I was there. This was not what I expected for a «boutique» hotel.
The parking lot is indeed very small, but the overflow parking is just across the street (behind the 7 – 11). I didn’t have a problem with that.
There were a couple of unreliable wi-​fi networks, and I couldn’t get a consistent cell signal. I realize I was at the beach, but you do need to stay connected sometimes.
I didn’t bother with the breakfast in the morning. When I checked out, the woman working at the desk didn’t bother to ask me how my stay was. She looked pretty surly so I’m guessing she wasn’t thrilled to be there either.
I really did like being right on the beach and being able to get up and walk before the loud kids came out, but I think I could have stayed somewhere considerably less expensive and had a bit more quiet and privacy. Thankfully I won’t be going back to the Ormond-​Daytona area again anytime soon.

We loved this place, it had a HUGE spa tub in the room, free espresso 24hrs a day and amazing front desk service! We made reservations to come back to see a race.

Hotel Kinda O.K. (not really) /​Beach is NOT Pet Friendly
The good:
1. Clean but not as clean as a lot of people are touting (but that’s the beach life)
2. Nice shower, big, clean
3. Some rooms have kitchenettes but beware of what’sd NOT mentioned on the website
4. Nice pool /​fire pit area /​clean pool & spa
5. Decent continental breakfast
6. Pretty beach
The bad:
1. Hotel promised by phone that the room we rented had a kitchenette to include a stove, OVEN, and microwave oven. No Oven. No dishes, no utensils, not even a roll of paper towels. You would think…
2. Two days in a row our room was cleaned at about 4:00PM. Not acceptable. The first day they simply made the bed with the same sheets. After 2 more days of this„ I stripped the bed and pillow cases and put them with the wet, dirty towels on the floor by the front door. They put the same sheets /​pillow cases back on the bed and pillows. Not acceptable. Not at all. Thus, this scathing displeasure with this establishment.
3. The inn IS «pet friendly» but they do not provide a place for pets to do their business!!! Who thought of THAT one?
4. Furthermore, ALL OF THE BEACHES IN ORMOND BEACH AND DAYTONA BEACH ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY. So, there is nowhere to walk your pet except on the beach. So, you have to sneak out to the beach before about 7:30AM or after about 6:30PM so the beach pet police don’t castigate you with their nonsense. We took our dog to the beach and picked up her poop each time, some people were «foot wedging» the poop into the sand. NONE OF THIS PET FRIENDLY STUFF IS ON THE LOTUS INN WEBSITE SO BEWARE.
5. A couple of other things not spelled out clearly on their site:…No elevator even though there are only 3 floors. Not a biggie but…, Very little parking. If you’re going there on the weekend, be prepared to possibly have to park across a busy avenue (A1A).
All of this said, the folks that run the place are pleasant enough but they really have not built a convenient place to stay. (at very least, they have not divulged enough info for a savvy trip advisor devotee to make a fully informed decision)
Overall, this place was not o.k. with us. We made the best of a ridiculous situation but we will not be back to Ormond Beach or anywhere else near Daytona Beach.
For a nice alternative, try somewhere around St. Augustine or New Smyrna, although these beaches are not pet friendly either. New Smyrna has one at a state park but it’s not a terribly convenient situation there either. You have to walk quite a ways to get to the beach. If you are
with family or friends that are a bit older of not as fit, they may have a hard time with the trek.
We think Florida is slowly turning into California and the Ormond /​Daytona Beach area beat everyone else to the punch. My wife’s especially disappointed since she’s originally from there.
Think Belize or any number of other places other than a place that
cannot count chads or provide a place for our pet to poop. Doh!

Awesome place! We stayed there last spring break and just booked again for this one!

Update: Still a great place to stay, quaint and quiet, with the exception of the pool music. Horrible country music loop that lasts about 1 hour then plays again. I really do not need or want to hear «Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy» six times in a three hour period. And my kids don’t need to hear it either. Boutique does not mean crappy country music at the pool…

Found the Lotus on Unilocal and we are delighted. Check out the jacuzzi suites (rooms 107 and 108). The jacuzzi is larger than the king bed. Wonderful!

I would give this place 6 stars for the renovation and location if I could!!!
Whatever pink and rusty old hotel this was, it does not matter. Their recent renovation has completely and utterly facelifted the place. There is not a hint of the previous left. It is more like an extreme makeover gone good, very good. This hotel is beautiful, clean and modern. From the pristine pool, hot tub, fire pit area to the landscaping… everything is new and shiny. There is a rain showerhead in the bathroom; the drapes are so pretty I thought about copying it at home.
And the location just cannot be beat! It is right on the beach! We stayed in one of the cheaper «garden view» rooms. But it is only about 20yds from the pool and beach! The next morning, when I opened the door and felt that seabreeze come through the open hallway, I practically ran down to the beach.
Breakfast is just muffins and coffee/​juice. But did I mention the location and renovation?

Lotus is a bright, shining beacon of hope in a foul land known as Daytona Beach.
If you’ve ever stayed in the Daytona Beach area, you’re familiar with the hotels there. They’re usually old, falling apart, smell like cheese and often have people living in them. If you’re lucky, the paper thin walls will give you free entertainment as you’ll get to hear your neighbor getting lucky with the hooker he just picked up on A1A. I once stayed at a hotel in Daytona where I slept on top of the comforter, fully clothed and terrified as the walls came alive at night with roaches and silverfish, and I was too afraid to venture into the parking lot because of the rednecks out there who were drinking Natty Ice and lighting things on fire.
Catch my drift?
I was still hung up on Daytona because it’s close to Orlando, cheap, and if you close your eyes and ignore the syringes on the sand then you can easily pretend you’re somewhere much nicer.
I was surprised to find Lotus on a hotel finder because it’s brand new. A brand new hotel in Daytona Beach? I almost peed myself. The pictures of the place did not have any palm tree décor and seemed free of turquoise and pink, so I booked it.
I arrived and did not want to leave. Lotus is brand new, clean, and modern. I ended up with a huge room that had a king sized bed, a full sized bed in a separate area, two LCD TVs, a full kitchen, an awesome shower with a waterfall shower head, and a private balcony that faced the ocean. Most importantly, it did not smell like dead hooker in the least. The hallways are exterior, which often skeeves me out, but they are so brightly lit that I didn’t feel like I was going to be raped every night, a first for me in Daytona.
The poolside area was also beautiful with a hot tub and a fire pit area. My biggest complaint here would be the pool, which seemed a bit on the small side. It was often overtaken by kids doing cannonballs, always with morbidly obese duh dads. I’m not a fan of children so I’d head down to the beach for a few hours until about 4 pm, the time duh dads tend to get hungry. The pool was always nicely warm. I’m not sure if it’s heated or just filled with lots of fresh urine, but I appreciated it. They pump music into the pool area that’s very calming, the kind of stuff you hear at Epcot with drum beats and calls of «ayaaaaaaaaaaah.»
The manager seemed like a nice guy. Not overly friendly, but he didn’t spit on me and in Florida that sometimes speaks volumes. There’s supposedly a free continental breakfast, but I didn’t partake because waking up before noon on a vacation is sacrilegious. I’ve heard parking is an issue, but I didn’t have any problems, thankfully, as the alternative is the scary, closed, and obviously haunted gift shop across the street.
This place is close to paradise. I actually have a beach destination that I’m not ashamed of.

This place has it all. Right on the beach. Ocean front rooms with walk out balcony or patio overlooking the pool. Not a mega hotel, only 42 rooms so you aren’t elbow to elbow with everyone else. Fire-​pit was a nice touch. Everything about this place was first class, at a reasonable price.
Our room was a standard with a kitchenette. Typical small refrigerator, but also a larger separate freezer. Flat top stove with two burners. Microwave, coffee maker. Desk top area with rolling swivel chair. Separate table with chairs for the kitchenette.
Lots of nice touches, water fountains, cabana’s for relaxing in the shade. Espresso machine in the lobby. 7 Eleven store across the street in case you forgot anything and a liquor store another 20 yards down the road. No need to even get in the car, unless you need to drive to get a bite to eat.
Located north of Daytona, so away from the hustle, bustle and crowds. Beach was clean and no crowds.
