Dr. Fife and his staff are amazing! I have a 7 year old Boston Terrier, that my family and I absolutely adore. Buster is very healthy, happy and loving boy. For about the last year or so Buster has been experiencing some eye issues. After several trips to his regular vet, a few misdiagnosis and lots off unnecessary money spent, I decided that I would see a specialist. Best decision I’ve made for my dog. Unfortunately, I didn’t know better and by the time we saw Dr. Fife, Buster had developed a pretty severe infection to a corneal ulcer. We tried to treat it with anti-​biotic drops (cheaper alternative) however, Dr. Fife did warn that it may not cure it and surgery would be necessary. A few days later the conditioned worsened and I was left in a panic at 8pm. I called the offices after hours number and to my surprise Dr. Fife answered, instructed me on how to care for him at the moment and asked me to bring him in the next day for surgery. We arrived at our scheduled time, and he was taken back immediately. Everything was explained to me in detail and his staff was very patient and comforting as I was in full fledge tears seeing my baby be taken away to surgery. The surgery was a little pricey but let’s be serious, aren’t they all. The surgery included all medication, his cone and 4 follow up visit. Weeks later, Buster is feeling great and completely back to normal. I can not thank Dr. Fife and his staff enough. I’m beyond pleased with every aspect of their service. I would recommend them to anyone for their furry family members.

beware! although he fixed my dogs eyes he almost killed him with too much anithesia !!! $ 10,000 later and no apololgy later he showed not only no guilt but acted very rude and defensive when questioned. he is very unprofessional and lacks in care… if you do your dogs eyes one at a time please especially older dogs when doing surgery!

Dr Fife saved my dog’s vision. He is the best in this field. After frequent eye infections and equally frequent misdiagnoses, we wanted to take our dog, Froggie, to a specialist to see if we could get to the bottom of why he had recurring infections every 6 months or so.
Dr. Fife was able to immediately size up the problem and offer a solution. Froggie needed a relatively simple eye procedure which was done that same visit. Froggie did have to wear the «cone of shame» for a couple weeks after that, but I’m happy to say he is totally cured of his infections and we haven’t had a problem since.
We have since been back to take another dog here on several occasions and have really gotten to know the Dr and his staff. This dog’s case was more involved but every time we come I feel like we are getting the best care possible. Dr. Fife and his staff are compassionate, professional and incredibly talented at what they do. For any pet eye issues I would never go anywhere else.

We adopted a really sweet blind dog (we named him Rudy) from the Orange County Animal Shelter in August. We inquired about the possibility of him having cataract surgery and decided it was worth the money to give him the gift of sight.
Dr. Fife and his staff couldn’t have been better about everything. Rudy was dropped off at the shelter by his owner. Poor guy was a mess when we adopted him. Aside from blindness, he had bad eye infections, ear infections and a terrible skin infection from chewing at his fur.
Dr. Fife and our day-​to-​day vet worked together to get Rudy ready for the surgery.
The procedure went very well and Rudy got his vision back! It was really cool to see him taking in the world for the first time in a long time.
Rudy was one of the rare dogs to have complications with his surgery, but Dr. Fife and his team went above and beyond to ensure he was provided the best care.
Yes, it’s expensive, but that’s because he’s a specialist with advanced training. I wouldn’t trust my dogs with anyone who didn’t have that level of competence.
I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone considering an eye procedure.

So I was really excited to see Dr Fife as I just moved from the west coast and he was recommended from a doctor at Eye Care for Animals! Unfortunately my experince wasn’t very good. Actually, it kind of sucked. I’m pleased to say nothing went tragically wrong. My dog had surgery with his doctor in Los Angeles– so I was really here to meet the doctor, have a routine eye exam and tonomotry checked, and just get a refill on his medication. Really simple appointment right? Not really. We made an appointment for 11 o’clock and the told us to be there early. We showed up at 1045 and filled out paperwork– and we proceeded to wait for an hour. An hour with no acknowledgment from anyone. We finally went to the front desk to ask what was going on and the receptionist replied– «yeah– they’re running late today.» No apology– nothing. When we finally got in the room the vet assistant was super nice (hence the second star). She was so great with our dog and you can really tell she loves animals! Then Dr. Fife came in. :(He didn’t even make eye contact with us. Asked us what was going on while he looked into our pup’s eyes and I proceeded to explain the procedure he had and we were just here for his checkup and for his yearly prescription refill. He responded with, «That’s fine with me,» signed some papers and got up and walked out of the room. No goodbye– no nothing. He was in there for less than 5 minutes. We weren’t sure if he was going to come back so we just sat there for a few minutes. Finally we got up and walked back to the front desk and we said to the respetionist, «we’re not sure– Dr. Fife didn’t really say anything to us– are we done with our appointment?» To which she responded, «Yes– your total is $ 175.» We paid the $ 175 and left completely baffled. Whether or not Dr. Fife believes it or not– healthcare is a service based industry. Bedside manner and common courtesy should be a no brainer. I know he’s got a lot of other great reviews here– and maybe he was having an off day– I feel like there’s no reason to completely disregard people’s appointment time and not even apologize– and there’s also no reason to be so disrespectful and dismissive when dealing with new patients. Really disappointed by him and his office staff.

I have had two pups that have had severe eye issues, so I have had experience with different care specialists in the area. After recurring eye issues with one pup, I decided to seek a second opinion. Dr. Fife was highly recommended by Poodle and Pooch Rescue. I was impressed with Dr. Fife’s state of the art technology and his experience in dealing with one pup who had severe allergic reactions to medications. I felt for the quality care I received and the vision restored to my pup, the costs involved were fair. Vet ophthalmology is a rare specialty — there are only about 400 specialists in the USA. I highly recommend Dr. Fife.

Dr. Fife is the most knowledgable and compassionate doctor in the state of Florida. He helped my puppy avoid an Entropian surgery by doing preventive care. He has amazing hands and a very good heart. Doesn’t charge a leg and an arm. Thank you a million times!

Our puppy was born with a hairy corneal tumor. We waited until she was old enough for surgery and our regular vet recommended VOC. The staff was so friendly and helpful. State-​of-​the-​art clinic which was impressive. Dr. Fife was great. Everyone was patient, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and competent. Our fur baby is now tumor free with very little scarring for such a large tumor and has no visual impairments. All instructions were emailed to us before we left the office. Great post-​op follow up and communication. Cost of procedure was less than estimate.

If Dr Fife was so caring and loving towards animals then he would make the cataract surgery more affordable! $ 2,400−2,800 an eye is crazy. I love my dog Max and he is completely blind and I want this surgery so bad because he is so depressed but I have a baby and a family and I can’t afford that and it brakes my heart. You have the machine and the surgery takes an hour. Would it kill you to charge ½ that so more people can afford it? In my opinion this is taking advantage of people that love their pets. Veterinarians are like attorneys these days. It is really sad.
