This artsy hangout is a ‘must-visit’ around Halloween time as they have fantastic decorations adorning the entire spot(just look at the pictures posted). The first time I went was to see the legendary Diamond D of D.I.T.C. It was one of the best sets I’ve ever seen, not just because he is great technically but because he was spinning 45’s!(not playing off of an Ipod, using Serato, etc.) This was a year or so before it became trendy to eschew traditional 12-inch vinyl for the much more niche 45 market. I have been back since and the spot is still a great place to grab a drink, people watch and just chill on a Friday or Saturday night.

I mean, to each his own… but if you are planning on going to the Peacock room, you might want to make sure it isn’t a «themed» night or whatever. After getting shook down for a $ 10 «breast cancer donation» [cover] by a bouncer with face tattoos, I quickly realized it was BBW night. Some things can’t be unseen.

There is nothing like a cover band at the Peacock Room slaughtering the songs of my youth. It would have been good had we not been charged a $ 5 cover at the door to support the band. We were just stopping in for a few drinks, so we figured why not, but honestly after a couple songs I kind of wanted to ask for a refund. The cover charge is kind of hit or miss. The bar is a cool enough to hang out and have a drink on a night with no cover, but it’s not worth paying to get in.

One of my friend’s favorite local bands was playing here on a Saturday night, so I decided to come check out the band and The Peacock Room with him. Since the band was playing, we had to pay an $ 8.00 cover charge to get in. Once in, we headed to the bar. I was very disappointed with their beer selection. In fact, I am pretty sure they only had five beers on draft, and three out of the five were currently out while we were there. Also, there were three bartenders working, but some were way slower than others. The Peacock Room is divided into a couple parts. After walking in(by the way the entrance is in the back) you will be in the bar area. Next to the bar area is a really cool room with a couple couches and chairs. I also liked the various art work in here from local artists. Then there is an additional room with a small stage. It was a crowded show, so I felt kinda claustrophobic at times. Overall, I had a fun time. I am not sure if this would be a bar I would ever go and hangout at. But if another show catches my interest, I would probably return.

Once again a great reason to believe Orlando is coming up in the hip scene. Eclectic artwork adorns the walls and adult entertainment such as Dirty Bingo is played once a month. Contestants can win prizes to enhance fun in the boudoir.

I spent much of my college life at this bar and I’ve seen the place go through many amazing remodels. Especially now that it’s non smoking it’s a comfortable artistic hang out with great music bookings. The bartenders make you feel like a regular as soon as you get there, the drinks are always well priced, and because of the split nature of the rooms, you can listen to a show or stay at the bar and hear your friends conversation. If you’re looking to experience Orlando/Mills night life without going to a quintessential dive bar, go here.

Is it completely selfish to love this place primarily because they know how to decorate for Halloween? Ok… I’ll pick out more reasons. Living here for 3 years so far and never having been in here yet makes me hang my head in shame. What a great space! A group of us wandered in on a Tuesday night. The place had not picked up yet, but between one of the owners and the sweet bartendress(sorry, I make up my own words, lol), we had the best time. We got a history of how long the place had been open, what type of venues go on there, how it has evolved recently, etc. AND… drum roll, how they have added to the Halloween décor throughout the years. I could sit there and talk Halloween and scary movie references forever, so I was in heaven. And what a cool thing to do if you’re one of the owners; giving a newbie group the grand tour. What a great time. Aside from that, I think we all ordered beers and one mixed drink, all were priced well and did the trick. The Harpoon Pumpkin beer, YUM. Southern Tier is still my fave, but this one is right up there. Its good to know that I’ve got 30 more days to soak in all the Halloween goodness here, and even after all that has ended. Thanks guys!

I went here for an Underground Jazz Party through Meet Up. It doesn’t look at all like the pictures posted. It ‘s bare bones with some mildly angry art on the wall and a few slashes of whimsical. I would not even call this eclectic as none of it made sense. This would be a dive bar in the true sense of the word. Needless to say we didn’t stay long.

Tuesday night was the first time I visited The Peacock Room. A group was having a underground jazz party, and I am always looking to go to places that feature live bands. Upon entering, I spoke to a few members from the jazz club, then went to the bar and ordered a Guinness Stout. There are a few beers on draft, including Shipyard Pumpkin Ale. There is also a full bar. The first thing that caught my eye was the art work hanging throughout the lounge. Talking to Emily, the friendly bartender working that evening, I learned that the art was provided by artists looking to sell their work. As she said, it decorates the walls, and the artists have a place to show their work off. I always have to give support to a place helping the art scene. With that said, be careful sitting at the tables along the wall if you are there in the evening. The track lighting can be very bright, whereas the light at the bar is turned down low. Besides art, the décor makes for a comfortable visit. Dark wooded tables and chairs run along the wall, along with a few sofas. Behind the bar, there is a room that is best for conversation, with sofas and coffee tables. Great if you and a date want to be able to talk. For a lounge on the small side, there are four bathrooms. Two for men, and two for women. Bathrooms are clean, and can be locked to give you privacy. I know this sounds silly, but I hate it when I am at a club using the bathroom, and you have several people in line right behind you while you are trying to do your business. And there is always the drunk that has to fuck with you. It is nice to have that privacy. As for other reviews, I read about the problem with smoking. The evening I was there, everyone who smoked went outside. The Peacock Room does not serve food. There is a food cart outside featuring items from the grill. Ask the staff as to whether you can have food delivered there. As the evening business picked up, there were three bartenders. All were helpful, friendly, and working hard. I would definitely return to the Peacock Room providing there was a band playing. And to people watch. I found the demographics of this group interesting. Ages from early 20s’ to early 50s’. And some interesting looking people at that! The art work on display may not be for everyone, but it is nice to see what Orlando artists are doing.

Way OK place. The first time that I went to the Peacock room was when I went to check out my friend’s band who was playing one night. The venue divided up into a couple of rooms. A showcase room, a room where bands or shows happen with a stage, and then the bar area. There are paintings on the walls which were really awesome. I only wish I could afford them! The service from the bartenders were all right. The first bartender I had was eh. After an hour of us being there, she asked me to close out my tab because she was leaving/closing out her shift. The way of her asking me to close it out was more of an annoyed tone than a «please can you close it out so I can get my tip I would really appreciate it.» Oh well. Closed it out and the second bartender I had was much more friendly and actually had a smile on his face. Overall, I had an all right experience but not a super blow-me-away-with-your-guest-service-skills experience. Thumbs up on the artwork and décor.

First time at this place. This is a great little bar. They have some really nice artwork on display, a good selection of liquors for cocktails and a nice mellow vibe. The service by the doorman collecting the cover charge and the bartenders were all super professional and friendly. We thought the drink prices were decent to. We specifically came out to see our friends band Vova Zen play and they were fantastic. They have a great mix of Ska and rock with lyrics infused with topical irony to great effect. We were particularly impressed with their horn player/vocalist. The next band playing was a nice blues rock band but were amped a little loud for such a small venue. On the plus side, they no longer allow smoking inside. We wouldn’t not have been able to deal with smoking in such a small space so that is nice. And, if you have a smoker with you it is easy enough to step outside for a few, weather permitting. Parking was decent too, which is always nice. We will definitely keep an eye on their calendar and head back for some more cocktails and tunes. The only minor tweaks that would make it more appealing, to us anyway; they could add to their liquor selections, I didn’t see any Ketel One or Appleton Rum, and maybe make a little list out on the bar to help you choose a cocktail, also add some more craft beers on tap, or at least in bottles. Finally, as I mentioned previously, they could turn down the volume a little on some of the live music. You don’t need everything cranked to high volume in a tiny room like that, it detracts from the performance. Believe me, I am a fan of loud rock music, but in an arena or stadium, not in a 30×40 room. It was a little surprising that it wasn’t busier, especially later on in the evening. So come out and support these guys, it really is a great little spot in a nice location, check it out if you get the chance.

I haven’t been to the Peacock in a while. It’s one of one of those places that has been around forever so you venture back there eventually. The bartender made me a really crappy drink and then charged me a small fortune for it. I was too nice to tell him that it tasted terrible so it just sat there. It’s trendy, it’s hip, it’s cool but I came home smelling like I took a swim in someone’s ashtray.

I love coming here when there is no cover! Other than that, this review would of been 5 stars! I love Phil and all the other awesome bartenders that treat my friends and I so great!!!

I have to say I had better expectations for The Peacock Room. We came on a Saturday night at approx 10:30.It was dead! Is that to early? I know I’m getting old, but there were literally 5 people in the bar. No big deal, we decided to stay and have a drink and listen to the DJ… Well, 2 mistakes there… They were out of the two beers I asked for and a certain kind of Vodka for a mixed drink. really? Then I pointed to something else on the drink menu and the bartender said, yeah, we don’t carry that anymore that’s an old menu… WTF? With that said, we just went with whatever they had, and decided to hang out on the coach… While the places has cool vibe, and interesting local artist paintings, it was just weird sitting on the coach with the DJ playing some strange mix of 50’s music and rap. What? Oh yeah, he was also scratching a lot, which was really annoying. needless to say, we finish our one beer and headed downtown…

The Peacock Room has not been my favorite place. They allow smoking inside, which I really hate about places and the concert area is extremely hot and uncomfortable(at least that was my experience when watching a concert there last week). They do have a few good beer selections apart from the normal beers you see everywhere, which is nice. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. I would give this place another shot, but I probably wouldn’t pick it myself to go back again.

Décor: I love the art(both Andrew Spear’s mural and the regularly changing exhibitions) and the comfy couches and seating groups, but what is with the pool table? Yes, I remember the days when neither it nor the video poker machines were in the vicinity, and it was better then. Ambiance: Tania is a master of martini craft, and with one of those in hand I can almost ignore the aforementioned pool table. The noise level in the bar area will usually allow a good conversation, and I’ve had many of those here. The smoke can get a bit overbearing at times — wish they had better ventilation. Music: acts vary widely, be sure to check their schedule. Typically only a cover on weekends. All in all, three stars — it’s a nice bar to have in the neighborhood.

You have to go around the back to get in! Just so you know. . Love the vibe– the artsy, authentic feel of the place. .seems as if you have stepped into a real city here.. . I like there is seating as well as a dance floor with live music, and on the night I visited a cabaret, burlesque show. The smoke. It does exist and took a minute for me to get used to people smoking indoors. Not a fan of this at all.. . however, if another interesting event should occur, I may return.

I’m completely with Peter C. on this one… not sure what all the hating is about. Yes its smoky, but as a highly allergic nonsmoker you just come to expect that bars/lounges/clubs will be smoky. Or at least I do. I hardly think that should be enough reason to not go and check out the great art, the great local vibe from burlesque shows to djs to live acts… it truly has something for everyone and the drinks are AMAZING. The bartenders are the friendliest in town, the door guy is the most laid back, just nice guy ever. Not to mention how great is it to be able to go somewhere and not have to worry about having cash for the parking, or feeling unsafe walking to the actual establishment and get a great chance to people watch and chat it up with a diverse crowd.

It’s hard to decide between 3 or 4 stars. I am gonna go with 3 for the time being since I have only been one time so far and may re-visit later. There are so many things I dig about this place: — Local Art — Nice Vibe — Amazing Bartenders — Comfortable, welcoming space — Great Martinis — AMAZING people watching — Killer DJs and music There are a few things I am not too impressed with though =( — Smoking inside — Straight forward people who just don’t get the hint(and by hint I mean they did not leave me alone when I asked them to three times!) — The layout of the dance floor — would be much more welcoming if the wall between the pool room and the dance floor was gone. It’s way tight right now — Did I mention smoking inside? Just NOT a fan Overall, great night and I will be back, just wish people would realize how gross smoking is!
