Steak ‘n Shake

Favorite burger spot for classic unadulterated beef burger. Staff is friendly & fast. Managers always available & willing to resolve issues (should one arise). Highly recommended for families as well due to their wonderful «Kids Eat Free» promo.

Been here for 1 hour 45 minutes, got food after 90 minutes, but still don’t have shakes. Spoke to MOD and didn’t help!!!
Worst service we have ever seen at this place. Never got shakes!

Drive-​thru customer service not very good at all. They advertise their app to get rewards and I get to the window and show the the app on my phone to scan and the lady looks at me all annoyed… ahh hello to you too. She tells me that I have to come inside to pay and when I ask why she mumbles… I just proceeded to give her my debit card instead and she says to wait cause the manager is coming to ring me up cause their machine doesn’t work. Awful customer service! Don’t advertise an app or rewards you don’t support smh. Guess what? Just deleted the app to avoid wasting space on my phone with a ridiculous app you can’t use. Food is good, no complaints there.

Very rude, no customer service. I ordered 3 milkshakes and was given straws out of a box no wrapper or anything on the straws… Totally disgusting… Will not go back to this place…

This Steak and Shake is filthy. From the bathroom to the kitchen. Egg shells and left over trash on the counter/​bar area. Employees leaning, dancing, and talking. Ordered a Taco Salad didn’t even get a fork. I will not go back to this Steak and Shake.

Food is good but the fries are always hit or miss. Service isn’t the best and the drive thru wait can be crazy long.

We came for breakfast after not wanting to wait at The Waffle House (I’ll get to your review next Waffle House). It wasn’t terribly busy, we placed our order and after a VERY loooong wait, we noticed the gentleman that had been seated WELL after us was getting his food. The look on my face must have been somewhere between annoyance and sheer rage because it was at this point that the server decided to clue us in that they had run out of biscuits and were baking new ones for my order.
So, once the food arrived it was excellent. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted great. The freshly made biscuits were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The sausage and eggs were good (I always order them over medium because nobody on this planet knows how to cook a over easy egg. Thankfully, this cook also doesn’t know how, so my eggs came out over easy as I wanted. It’s going to be a sad day when I find a chef who knows what true over medium is, because then my eggs will be overcooked and not the over easy I want. LOL)
My true complaint here was simply the lack of communication regarding the status of our order. I simply will not overlook when a server does not make an effort to come to the table and inform their guests that there is something that will be slowing the order down and offering their guest the chance to make an adjustment to their order (or agree to the wait time). It doesn’t seem fair to me that you are left to wait, not even checked on to see if you need anything while you are waiting. It’s almost like the servers think you don’t notice the long wait time if they don’t come over and draw attention to themselves. I actually get madder because I am feeling ignored.
Ok, so to sum it up, food was excellent, the server was friendly, but it wasn’t busy enough in there to explain why we couldn’t be told about our wait time sooner than we were.

The food here is always amazing but be prepared to wait if you try the drive thru as everything is cooked there on the spot. Me and my girlfriend went there today for two milkshakes the staff was very friendly and attentive to our order. More pricey than a normal fast food chain but worth the extra dollar!

It was a wonderful place last time I came, we drove up to the drive thru window, and the woman at the drive thru window read us three orders that were not ours and finally, we found our order that was completely incorrect. We will return, but hopefully we get better service.

It’s fast food that gets made fresh once you order it, so be prepared for a slightly longer wait then normal, but the food is good.

I had had two bad Experience with this franchise but this restaurant change my mine … The food was good and acceptable and very fast service (impressive me)
The philly cheeses hamburger tasted very good… The place need clean better.

The night we visited they had a little business problem — no shakes. We sat through much of our meal shake-​less, and I finally asked to see the manager, who explained that «the system crashed.» I don’t really know what that means; the waitress took down our order on paper, couldn’t that be used for reference when making the shakes?
When the shakes finally arrived near the end of our meal, they kindly served them to-​go, in styrofoam cups. I thought it might be a nice gesture to comp us for the shakes, but I guess that didn’t occur to them.
Very good value for the money, with many burger and fries plates for $ 4 or less.

I went today through the drive thru window at 230. The young woman working the window was so patient with me as I struggled through ordering new items for me. Noone was in line behind me so i was experimenting. She recommended a chili mac supreme which wasn’t on the outside menu and I took 2. And more! Always good service there… but today was exceptional.

I give ‘em a three and a half. We came in about 9 pm on a Wednesday. Seating and service were prompt. Food was very good. (Well, the actual hot dog in our Chili Dog may have been only average.). Our server may have been a bit too talkative, but he was mostly interesting. Our Milkshake was very good. The cashier was efficient.

The highlight was watching customers flagging down servers 15 minutes after they were seated by grabbing a server by grabbing them by the arm and asking if someone could take their order. Oh that is not the best… one man actually picked up the please wait to be seated sign and waived the entire sign post in the air, trying to get someone… anyone to come greet his party. Yes… actually dancing with the sign…
After eating, it took over fifteen minutes wait to pay, with only one other person in front of us placing a to go order. The whole episode lasted almost two hours… at a fast
food restaurant… a Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM.
As we finally escaped the insanity… the man who had been dancing with the please seat me sign had been seated for about 20 minutes, but still had no food or drinks, the table of two, who grabbed a server and begged to order, had drinks but no food… about six servers were gathered behind the server station arguing about whose responsibility it was to clean all the dirty tables… between checking their cell phones… we escaped the madness… those other customers may still be waiting for their burgers and shakes…

Thanks for sizzling up my taste buds today! I’m a burger fanatic and love my meat fresh off the grill and juicy. Well, steak and shake definitely knows how to prepare a nice one. For over a year I’ve received their coupons in the mail (junk mail) and I’ve just thrown them away. Today I couldn’t stop looking at the advertising of the guacamole burger. I’m in my second trimester of pregnancy so of course when I’m craving something, I MUST have it! Within an hour of reviewing and obsessing over the food porn they sent, I was in the car driving up the road to the nearest steak n shake. So grateful they have a drive thru. Wasn’t looking forward to stepping out in pajamas with crazy hair! The food was ready in less than ten minutes and was everything I wanted in a burger. Did not like the fries at all! The shake was good. Love strawberry banana. The coupon came in handy and actually saved me $ 6! Not so bad. I’ll be back one day! :-)

The food is terrible, I remember steak & shake use to be good, maybe it’s just this location. Service was terrible, had to wait 20 minute for someone to seat us, then 1 hour for food. The restroom stunk something awful.

After an afternoon of shopping, kids wanted some hamburgers n shake for a late lunch. Stopped her since it is closed to home.
Been here many times with my family. The servers has always been friendly n nice. On occasion when they are busy they are not as attentive but it’s like that everywhere.
Burgers are tasting. My children enjoyed it so nothing else to said. As long as they approve of the food. It’s a hit in my book.
Always plenty of shading parking so extra bonus. Since it so hot outside.

My kids love Steak and Shake but this one has the slowest service I have ever had. We have been waiting for 30 minutes for our food.

Not sure why it says it’s closed. It is most definitely still open and the service at this location is the best of any I have ever been to. Great steakburgers!
