History

Established in 1978.

Specialty Marine Contractors, first built docks were in early 70, s on the neighborhood lake as a back yard project, neighbors were so impressed, that asked if I could build one for them, that pattern went on all summer long, till we built three quarters of the docks on our lake, soon I was employed by my older next door neighbor, Kent, He started a home framing, new construction build firm, We would build homes when it was cold, as soon as the water warms up, back to dock building, in 1990 I went back to school, and obtained a Florida contractors license, CRC-​52 298, approximate 1995 we dropped the house building and stuck to docks and boat houses and shoreline alteration, Even to this date Kent and I are still building together, the two of us are by far the most experienced marine contractors in the central Florida area, please take a moment to visit are web site at spe​cial​ty​marinecon​trac​tors​.com then call for a free design consultation.

I was born and raised in central Florida, I never have filled out a job application, My first job was for my older neighbor, building homes, I have always felt I needed to be self employed, and captain of my own destiny, I was brought up to give the consumer a product, better than they expected, and the referrals will come easy, I obtained a state contractors license in 1990, I am in my mid 50, s married 25 years now, 2 beautiful children, I bought a lake front home in the neighborhood grew up in.
