Sanctuary Salon & Med Spa

I was in the area and stopped by as a walk-​in and booked an appt on the spot before checking Unilocal for a time slot an hour later. After setting the appt I read Unilocal reviews and saw the low rating, if I’d have seen the rating before I would not have booked; however, my experience was apparently significantly better than several previous clients. I enjoyed my one hour back treatment by Kerstin. She is not only a practicing Esthetician, she also teaches courses and has vast experience in several product lines. I didn’t experience any high pressure to buy a membership. Living in Vegas and busting spas often provides me with a good baseline to compare service experiences. This is not a spa where you’ll enjoy the steam room, whirl pool and lounge. It’s treatment rooms are basic, you’re also not paying 2x as much for the services as in Vegas or other high end spas. I would return next time I’m in Orlando primarily because of Kerstin, her experiences working on diverse clients and knowledge are outstanding. I generally relax and doze off, this time I asked lots of questions.

I was worried about my appointment here after reading the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised! My friend and I got a Travelzoo voucher for a massage and facial and both were lovely. The massage was perfection — I about melted into the table and the facial was great too. I’ll definitely be back. I do wish there were actual locker rooms instead of them out in a hall, but that’s a small piece of feedback.

I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal to this place and it was the worst mistake ever! I ended up calling Groupon and begged them for a full refund. Thank god they were able to do that for me. I should have gotten a hint when they called the day of my appointment to cancel on me TWICE! I arrived at the office for my consultation and test spot which mind you was in a creepy back room of a pediatricians office with only a paper sign on the door that said LASER… very classy. I was so creeped out I said I had to make a quick phone call called Groupon and sprinted to my car. I definitely learned my lesson on this purchase trying to save a few bucks!

as far as eyebrow threading goes, this place is the pits. i took my daughter in to get her eyebrows threaded. when we left and i got a closer look in the car, i was SHOCKED at the amount of hair left on her brow! we went home and i spent at least 5 minutes cleaning it up. the woman, who happens to be the owner, told my 16 year old daughter that she has bad acne and needs to come in for a treatment!!! wait, WHAT??? i was beyond pissed. even if i had a gift certificate for services to this place, i would not go back.

I like to deal with honest people, this is not the place. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I Horribly regret doing business with these people!

I think someone went to a different spa or they have drastically changed! This place was amazing. The facility was tranquil and beautiful. They offered us tea, water, and etc upon arrival, the rooms were peaceful and professional. Yipsy did my massage and she was magical. Mary the facial and it was great. No one tried to upsale us or sale us any additional product. The office personnel could not have been nicer. We will be back.

I have given this «spa» many chances over the years, mainly because it is so convenient to my house. Today was the last time. First off, it’s really not a spa. It is a hair salon with a couple of tiny rooms tacked on for treatments. If you’re expecting a Ritz Carlton experience you will be very disappointed although the prices are comparable. No pool, no lounging area, no champagne, no robes, no slippers… you get the picture. The décor is tired and sad. Having said that, they have employed a number of great estheticians over the years whose expertise made it worth the hassle at the front desk. Sadly it seems they are all gone now. So today I waited in line to pay, while the owner gave detailed driving instructions to somewhere to the previous client. My esthetician started trying to upsell me a «membership» (no thanks) and the owner, holding my credit card, ignored me and went on to the client behind me. Because I was talking. Nope, I was getting the hard sell. Done. And the treatments were just about ok, wildly over-​priced. I travel internationally a lot and I have tried a lot of spas from super high end to basic. Sanctuary — meh.

I went to this salon for a cut and color. I am traveling for 3 months and needed to go to someone I did not know. Brenda did my cut and color. She did a great job. I am getting married in 5 months and was nervous having someone cut and color my hair.
She was fabulous. The scalp massage was fabulous as well. The owner was very nice and accommodating. I would go back for more services. It is tucked into the corner of the shopping center so be sure to get directions.

Each time I visit Sanctuary Salon & Day Spa I have a very enjoyable experience. I am greeted warmly by the staff, the scalp massage during the shampoo feels amazing, and my hair always ends up looking great! I’ve also had massages here that were very nice! I would recommend anyone to this salon.

The owner of this place is just awful and it shows. She could care less about providing customer service… just taking your money for subpar services. I personally witnessed her yelling at a client because the client was unhappy with how her hair turned out. (brassy orange) She refused to redo the woman’s hair let alone refund any money.
