Russian Academy of Ballet

I took the stretch class on Tuesdays and beginner bar class on Tuesday. I enjoy ballet and trying different studios throughout town. I enjoyed the stretch class because they give a variety of positions to open up your muscles ligaments and tendons. However I do wish there was more instruction on how to stretch properly such as positioning of the legs or how to get a deeper stretch or variations on the stretches for the different flexibility levels in the class.
The barre class I went to was packed. I think that is the reason why I had such difficulty seeing the teacher as a combinations were taught. For beginner class I do wish that each combination had a brief explanation for what we were doing and the name. Overall was a good ballet class the teacher came around to each individual and stretch them separately. The combinations were challenging you got a good workout and the teacher was very skillful.

I’ve taken 2 adult beginner/​intermediate ballet classes here so far. I enjoy the studio and the adult ballet teacher Mischa. The location is so close to my house I like that too.
The first class I took, the teacher pretty much left us alone. The second class she came around and adjusted our positions throughout the class.
I do wish there was more center work but I have a feeling this is what the intermediate/​advanced class does.
Overall I’m satisfied. I’m looking forward to sneaking a peek at a higher level class to see if it’s something I could handle. I danced 16 years as a child but haven’t danced since a few times in college so the barre work in beginner/​intermediate is not especially challenging as far as technique or combinations but I’m not in shape enough to take a higher level class… yet.

For those of you looking for a ballet school, come here! The teachers are actually Russian and will provide the best training for your child and they are very nice. They provide an awesome summer class program that runs weekly, and by the end of the week the children have a recital of what they were taught that week. Super cute! I came here to watch my niece perform and the look on her face, I could immediately tell that she was having fun and that she really enjoyed ballet. Great workout for the kids and I’m impressed with how much they learn and retain each week!

I’ve taken ballet classes at nearly every school in Orlando, and Irina and Vadim are by far the best ballet teachers in the area! I improved 3x as quickly during my time at Russian Academy compared to other ballet schools in the area, and all of the girls that I took class with have become dear lifelong friends. Whether you’re looking for classes as the parent of a 3-​year-​old future ballerina, a current ballet dancer, or just someone who’s looking for a good workout (adult classes are awesome as well!), definitely check out Russian Academy!

My three year old just began taking classes at the Russian Academy and she loves it! The setting is very professional without feeling too serious. Don’t get me wrong, they are serious about ballet, just not in a scary way. Class size is perfect and all age groups are offered. From beginner ballet (age 3) to adult exercise classes, anyone can find a place. Owner Katerina Fedotova has got a good thing going! I can’t wait for the recital!
