Rock & Roll Heaven

They have a decent selection of vinyl if you are willing to pay $ 20 – 30 Minimum! This might be the best record store in town, but compared to stores in other cities it is insanely overpriced. Worth a stop if your looking for something hard to find and are willing to overpay for it.

This was a really cool store. Great selection with a deep catalog for most artists. Lots of mint condition vinyl. There’s always a but right. There’s a good reason the selection is so massive. Used vinyl records that are a dime a dozen, USA pressings no matter how clean are not worth $ 40. Police Def Leppard ect. I travel all over the country and have never seen used vinyl records this expensive and for no good reason. Props on the mint selection, but good Lord man, these records are a quarter of the price in any other used record store.

I recently visited this store a couple times in the past year. They do have a nice selection of LP’s and collectibles but it is very highly priced. You can get many of the same things cheaper online or at other reputable stores in central Florida. The one thing that really bothered me is the owners are a bit arrogant. If you walk in and try to sell them records they act like you do not know one thing about them and they low ball you so bad it almost makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. I would never try to sell anything to this place if you do not know what you have (value wise).

A asked a friend from Orlando «where do you suggest for record shopping» and he said «Rock and Roll Heaven». I took his advice and made my way over. I wish he had told me a little more because we were not prepared at all for what we were about to take on. I walked in and there was vinyl everywhere, the the floor, shelves and random boxes. Not only was there one room, there was three rooms! Mostly vinyl and some CD’s (DVD’s, i think). I walked around and got the lay of the land. Soul, Hip Hop, 80’s Alt, Punk, Metal, Brit Pop, Garage, Indie Country and more! Seven inches, albums and singles. OK, now it was time to get to work. I went through the sections I always go to, Metal, Punk, Garage and then looked for some random records that have been on my list. This place had a lot of what I was looking for. So at this stage you may be asking yourself «so, why is it 4 stars?». Yes, he has a lot of records, all formats, bu there is one reason he is 4 stars, there are no deals or hidden steals in here. They have done their research, he charges pretty much what I would pay on ebay on discogs. The upside, i don’t have to pay for shipping or wait a week for my record. Also, the owner (or older guy working there who seemed to know what was going on) was really friendly, we talked about records and stuff. I appreciate human interaction. I can’t even imagine trying to keep open a retail store this size in the internet age. The owner went on to tell me they’d been there for 38 years! I was impressed. So if you’re looking for that «hard to find 7 inch» and are in Orlando, i’d check here first.

I definitely was not able to browse the whole place, but it’s awesome. I’m always looking for a new place to pick up some records. When I went, it was actually 10 minutes past closing, but the owner was happy to stay open for us to look around a bit, so that was super nice. Everything’s organized by sections so it’s easy to find, or try to find, what you’re looking for. It’s decorated with fun collectables and just overall great stuff. It has new and old stuff, so even those with interest in more contemporary music will find some treasures.
Random tip: avoid the restroom. Not so great.

I checked out Rock N’ Roll Heaven recently. This review is very hard for me because this shop is everything I love about a record shop.
I’ve been to some of the best shops up and down the east coast and plenty of other ones in other parts of the U.S.
I must say it’s rare I give two stars for so many good things… but I walked out with only 1 record and here’s why…
THE GOOD…
–digging for hours
–tons of inventory with some really nice stuff
–plenty of crates and bins to dig through
–people who worked there seemed friendly
–sells other media too such as cassettes, 8-​tracks, VHS and more
–some nice hard-​to-​find records
–very well organized
–eclectic mix of all genres
–lots of reissues and new vinyl (if that’s your thing)
–has restroom
THE BAD…
–PRICE GOUGING!!! To the highest degree! It hurt my eyes and my love for record collecting seeing how much they wanted for countless titles. Especially bargain bin stuff anywhere else they are looking to get $ 15+. I would have walked out with a giant stack, perhaps spent a $ 100 easy, but I couldn’t get over the price tags of $ 20, $ 30, $ 40 and more. I also zeroed in on the date of the price sticker. Way too many records have been sitting on the shelf for too long. Even the cassettes were pricey. It really bothered me because I really loved everything else… major, major disappointment!!!
–no listening station that I could find
–too many 12″ singles mixed in with LPs
Overall, I’m glad I stopped in so I could explore and dig through a lot of the inventory. I really wish the prices were more realistic and in line with the true value. This experience was the first of its kind for me.

I am sure before the days of Discogs and eBay they probably had decent prices, but for someone from the Northeast I have to say I thought the pricing seemed really high to me. New vinyl was $ 5 – 10 higher than most places I have been, and used prices were very high, like premium top dollar pricing high. I mean Fleetwood Mac Rumors should not be $ 40 dollars in my opinion, even if it is in decent at best shape. Cd’s and toys were priced high as well. They have a massive inventory and I wonder if they would move if it was priced adequately, A lot of the same records i saw last year are still hanging around. Saw a few things, but decided to pass once i did a few minutes of research and could save substantially. Obviously they have their fans, not trying to piss on your parade or be a hater.

When I was in college I found a love for old school vinyls, and was curious if there were any stores in the area where I could pick up a few. A quick Google search turned up Rock & Roll Heaven. One visit and it instantly because one of my favorite hangout spots. You can seriously lose yourself here for hours on a weekend afternoon.
In terms of music, they have it all. Used records. LPs from today’s hottest artists. CDs. 8-​tracks. Not to mention a TON of rock and roll memorabilia. It’s a collectors paradise. The older crowd will get an awesome feeling of nostalgia looking through their vast assortment of old records. The younger crowd might get a little bit of music education. Because, let’s face it, music back in the day was just better!
The guys who own and run this place and totally awesome. Very friendly and laid back. And why wouldn’t they be? They have the dream job! I wish I went to work at Rock & Roll Heaven every day. Special thanks to them for helping me track down not one, but two original versions of the Dark Side of the Moon vinyl.
Rock & Roll Heaven is unashamedly real and laid back. No frills décor. Just pure rock and roll vibing. This place an Orlando gem, and definitely worth checking out.

I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t know very much about vinyl, but my boyfriend is a fan and I love flipping through albums on shelves, so we stopped by.
My favorite part of this store is all of the movie and music memorabilia that lines the walls and shelves throughout the store. You could spend time just walking the perimeter of the store and checking everything out.
There are three large rooms with vinyls to look through. Everything seemed to be categorized nicely and easily and the store is jam packed with stock which can make it difficult to squeeze around their patrons, especially if it’s busy. I especially liked their boxes with leftover Record Store Day special albums.
We price checked a couple of newer albums with costs online and their costs seem to be a bit higher than what you could find elsewhere. I know other Unilocalers boast about their collectors items, so this may really be their specialty. We’ll be back!

I moved here from California worried that Florida would lack the hard rock/​metal theme I love! This store really proved me wrong! I love all the KISS stuff and great LPs they have! I think everything is priced fairly because you are getting top-​quality. The owner ended up selling me a kiss chair boy was I in heaven! I always buy something from the metal section of LPs!

I recently discovered this place and there is a lot to love. Selection is huge and varying and everything is in excellent condition. Also enjoy the random collectors items and toys throughout the store. The two dudes I’ve met that worked there are so helpful and knowledgeable. Some records are a little pricey for my taste but your paying for top quality.

This place is awesome! It is packed full of new and used records, CD’s and all sorts of memorabilia! There is SO MUCH stuff in this place, but somehow still feels clean and open.
They guys who work here are great, and it is clear that they have a passion for music/​vinyl.

Stopped by here yesterday with my boyfriend and it was love at first sight! I’d never heard of this shop but instead noticed it while we were driving, and since we’d never been here we popped in to check it out.
The store smells like heaven: burning incense and old records. There are three rooms in the shop categorized by used records and CDs, then records based on genre, and then new release records. While there’s not many record shops in Orlando, I scoured all of them for a Chaka Khan LP I’ve been looking for forever. I asked an employee and he gladly walked me to the section and even indulged me by singing a little of I’m Every Woman with me, so cute!
My boyfriend and I meandered around a little more just perusing and we were completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of records for sale in the store. I mean floor to ceiling, every nook and cranny, and even in the bathroom you will find records! I wanted to spend all day (or maybe all week) looking through the shop and just browsing the records.
This shop has everything you could ever want and more. The employees know A LOT about music, records and record care, and record players/​turntables, and they’ll even check yours out and fix it up if you need help. The only downsides to this store is the huge inventory of records with no real way of knowing what they have and what they don’t. Obviously an inventory system would be convenient, but half the fun is looking around and finding a treasure. My boyfriend also noticed that the rap section for LPs is severely lacking and not up to date, which was true, but we’ll definitely be back to check out their stock again.

To understand Rock and Roll Heaven, one needs to understand what’s for sale. The recent boom in vinyl sales has been a great thing for most record stores. But because you have everyone buying anything and calling it vintage, I think a lot of reviews here have the wrong idea. The benefit to R&RH is that the staff is small but knowledgeable and their merchandise is all near-​mint or new. That’s the important part right there. All the records in the store are in fantastic condition.
You won’t find some gross common issue of The Beatles — Revolver that has a water damaged sleeve and a warped disc with a ton of scratches for $ 5. This isn’t a thrift store, this isn’t a flea market, this isn’t an estate sale — this is a proper record shop that sells new records and records in high quality.
That said, there’s two things that I take away from this place. You won’t find **~~EVERYTHING~~** but when you find what you’re looking for, it’s worth the price. Speaking of price range, it goes like this:
7′ Singles — $ 2.99-$ 14.99 (that high end is really rare)
12′ — Anywhere from $ 15+
I can’t recommend this place enough for people who are serious, though not necessarily snobby, about having a proper collection. Give it a shot. Oh and because there seems to be an odd amount of confusion, the decorations around the store are decorations. They’re not for sale and you’ll even find signs that say so.

This is one of my favorite places in Orlando. It is located in a funky
«Ivanhoe Village». The vibe in this place just makes me remember when music was music. Love the staff so knowledgeable and helpful in finding the records I was hunting for. this is a great way to spend some time and find some truly awesome vinyl. Orlando coolest business! Many more cool shops in the area too.

Mountains and mountains of records and 45s in this place! I was on s browsing day with my Mom and being the rock freak she is I made sure we stopped in. She picked up at least 7 albums, in the first five minutes, saying how much she wanted them… I was fascinated by the cool vintage toys and games and assorted fun around the walls and Mom was in music heaven. I can see a visit in my future to buy my Mom a few of those «must haves» for her!

The important thing to understand is that these are near mint to mint records and that as such prices are based on collector end points.
If you’re just looking for beaten copies of Fleetwood Mac, go elsewhere. If you’re ready to collect, and care for, LP RECORDS… then you’re ready for HEAVEN.
I’ve only seen records of this grade and pricing at record fairs and then only as a small part of a seller’s holdings. This is the best place in the USA to locate intact era records bar none.
For example, a 1970s original Tangerine Dream, Stratosfear LP that was flawless and goes for slightly more online was $ 20 here. A bargain since I hate buying records I haven’t held unless I know the seller.
So If you really see something here you like and it is pricey; step back, go home, do your research. I think you’ll find that once you know what you’re talking about, you’ll get their pricing (and maybe you’ll know enough to haggle).
Frankly, I’ve never been more impressed, and more assured of the grading of LPs than I was during my rather long visit here on 12÷30÷14.

Review is on used vinyl and the store’s policies/​general owner attitude.
They have a few rarities in the bins, which I like. Their prices are sky high (compared to just about any other city, but they seem to be priced at the going rate in Orlando, which is weird), and their condition is always good.
They have this bizarre policy in which a customer is not permitted to handle a record until they buy it. For example, if you’re looking at $ 50 used records, you are not permitted to pull it out of the plastic cover and look at the record to make sure it’s the right pressing as well as check quality. I’ve been collecting vinyl for over 20 years. I know how to handle a record. Instead, I had to bring them to the front counter and watch as the pompous owner pulled out each one and handed it to me for inspection. He also insisted that there was no reason to inspect them because any info about pressing was on their price label (false) and they only sell records of top quality. I had never seen nor heard anything so unbelievable. I was floored.
Despite this, I bought two records that had been on my want list forever. When I got out to my car and inspected them more carefully, I discovered one was not the proper pressing. Worried I would fly into a rage, I did not go back in there — I don’t even want to think about what their return policy is.
The Orlando record scene as a whole is terrible, but these guys take the cake for awfulness.

I visited this store a handful of times when I was living in Florida from 2011 to 2014.
I liked Rock & Roll Heaven better than any store in South Florida, which is where I lived. So I made the 180-​mile drive up to Orlando a few times a year to buy records.
Rock & Roll Heaven has an interesting and pretty large collection of vinyl. Oldies (1950s-​1980s rock, R&B and country) are their main focus. They have a fairly big soundtrack selection, too. I scored the «Karate Kid» soundtrack here, which is relatively hard to find. The records I purchased here were usually in great shape, and there were some nice collectibles in the bins. I picked up a couple volumes of a Rhino girl-​group collection called «Wonder Women.» That’s the kind of thing you might find here. Prices could be somewhat high, but some of their stuff truly is rare, so that’s to be expected.
The shop has a fairly sizable and interesting collection of CDs, too, with oldies again being the focus. You’ll see CDs from labels like Sundazed and Ace — collector-​type labels. Niche genres such as surf and garage rock are covered, but so are the most popular artists from the early decades of rock and R&B.
I recommend Rock & Roll Heaven for collectors who like oldies — that’s pretty much the target audience of this store. It’s also conveniently close to Park Ave CDs, another very solid record store in Orlando.

Rock ‘n Roll Heaven has been around as long as I can remember. If you are a fan of vinyl (like me) then this really is heaven for you, because they got it all. Pick your genre — hiphop, rock, industrial, country, jazz, etc etc — it’s there.
The guys that work there are nice and they will also buy your records (well, they’ll probably buy a small percentage of your records, but hey, that’s something, right?)
There are also CDs, 45’s, movies, and memorabilia. If you head towards the back room you’ll find some cool swag, including laserdiscs, VHS, games, toys, and movie soundtracks (I picked up the Breakin’ soundtrack a few weeks back).
Now the downside: the place is *expensive*. Records are always in fine condition, but they are pricey (expect to pay $ 10 for a «lower-​end» record and as much as $ 100 for something special. On average you’ll drop at least $ 20 on a record, so you better really enjoy that record, if you know what I mean. Of course, the price didn’t stop me from picking up Faith No More’s LP «We Care A Lot» from 1985 (it was $ 30 but I had some credit from a few records they bought from me which helped).
In short, this place deserves a visit and you will be surprised as to what you’ll find in there.
There is a place that sells vinyl a lot cheaper (but great condition is not guaranteed). I am not prepared to drop the name of the place at this time, however. maybe someday.
