Quality Suites

Stayed at the Quality Suites on Turkey Lake Road for four nights in January 2016.
Postive:
–Nice room, with ample space.
–Very good location, not far from all of the theme parks (by car).
–Decent value in comparison to other nearby hotels.
–Poolside bar (see below)
–Large Wal Mart within close proximity.
Negative:
–The property is dated (not really a problem for me)
–The poolside bar was closed due to the chilly temps
–The free breakfast was sub-​par. Even the orange juice did not taste much like o.j., more like water with orange flavoring.
I would certainly consider this hotel for future stays.

This place is the worse of the worse don’t waste your time or money. The water would not work in our room early in the day we call the front office about it and they give us the runaround for 2hrs there was no water in the building. Will never go back here again.

We have been using this centrally located hotel for many years. unfortunately circumstances were such that we haven’t made our way over here for the last 5 or 6 years. I was happily surprised that the property was even better than I remembered. Clean and «roomy» with comfy beds and clean grounds. The front desk staff was super cute and friendly and did a great job.

Not many people. I think that’s nice! Breakfast is nice besides malfunction of the waffle mix. Love the mirrors in the room too

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights so that we could go to Universal Orlando Resort. We stayed here Friday night and Saturday night, checked out Sunday Morning. I booked the room on Expedia for a great price and ended up paying about $ 145.
Now, for the price, it’s all you need to really just sleep and relax for the night. The hotel definitely needs an upgrade and some renovations, but it was clean and that was all that mattered. The suite we were in had 2 Queen Beds and 1 sofa bed. There was a small fridge, a microwave, a coffee pot, a small flat screen TV, an iron, and a hair dryer (it’s noisy, but it does the job).
Here’s what I DIDN’T like: When you check-​in they take a «HOLD» on your credit/​debit card for precaution. I guess if you destroy the room or something, I really don’t know what it was for. I didn’t know about this «HOLD» and the hotel rep checking us in said something about it being $ 50 or something if we wanted to do cash but $ 25 for a card. So I just transferred money to my card and went on with my night, it was late and I just wanted to sleep. I checked out today and they told me the money would be released today and back into my account in up to 10 business days, so we’ll see.
FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is from 6:30am-9am (but on Sunday it was almost 10am and they were still serving breakfast, so I guess it spills over for the stragglers). It’s pretty good, there was sausage, scrambled egg patties (like how it would be on a breakfast sandwich), toast, cereal, waffles, yogurt, english muffins, coffee, hot water for tea, and different fruit juices (orange, apple, etc). If you don’t go early, you’ll have no seat and have to stand against the wall on this table top bar OR you can just go back to your room and eat, which is what we did. No biggie.
They offer free shuttle service to the parks (Sea World, Disney World, and Universal), but we didn’t want to wait until 9am to get there when Universal Studios opened at 9am, so we drove (it was literally a 3mile drive, SO close).
Not a bad stay and if you’re high maintenance, this isn’t the place for you. It was just what we needed to rest in and recharge for the next day.

Over priced in comparison for the location on I-​drive. The beds are uncomfortable, in fact it’s 4:30 a.m. when I’m writing this because I can’t sleep while staying here! We used the pull out couch and the mattress bottom was black and dirty. There was trash on the floor under the couch when pulling out the mattress too. The air conditioner was cold when we first came into the room, however now at 4:30 a.m. it’s hot in the room, I haven’t heard it come on in over 30 minutes, and I turned it down three times throughout the night. I’m staying here because another person booked this hotel. Wish I would have made a different reservation. Never again here.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID this hotel at all cost. Not only is it run down, the Wifi conn doesn’t work, there’s BED BUGs, sheets are stained, even the window curtains are stained! the beds described on their website are not actually queen beds but twin!!! Our room (Rm. 347, don’t expect wifi conn in this room) is SUPPOSED to occupy 5 people but the looks of their bed size, it could only fit 3! 1/​person on each bed and 1 on the sofa bed (which btw, reeks of urine and maybe more bed bugs hiding beneath it!) The bathroom floor tiles are filled with grout, they’re old, uneven tiles! So, so, so disappointing! We could barely even get a good nights sleep because we’re constantly itching, and not enough space for 2 persons on the bed.
Do yourself a favor and listen to other guests reviews. AVOID this place at all cost!

Stayed here for only one night– thank god it wasent for longer. The A/​C didn’t work, shower was cold, and the Internet was so slow it was impossible to do anything on it. The staff was rude, and even with the do not disturb sign in the door the maid still knocked like a cop at 8am. After we yelled no at the top of our lungs she still came in. I travel a lot, stayed in a lot of hotels and this was by far the worst. Save your money and go elsewhere.

the only thing that made this hotel tolerable was the location. the hospital is right next door so if the mold makes u sick, you can walk to the ER. we were there for two days and we thought the hotel was pet friendly so we blamed the nasty carpet on that, but it’s not. the faucet leaked nonstop so the bathroom floor was always moist. the actual building is old and beat up and there’s graffiti on the walls. the elevator stinks and it’s like the smell sticks to you when you leave it. it’s like a thick, heavy, dirty smell. the TV has like 12 channels, 7 of them are advertising nearby businesses. the Internet is kind of hard to connect to at first but it wasn’t too bad. the breakfast was pretty blan but they had a waffle maker. before you make a reservation here, make sure there are absolutely no other rooms at any other hotel and you have completely run out of options. if in fact you see that you have absolutely NO OTHER OPTIONS, then go ahead and check in. but you have been warned.

We recently stayed one night (thankfully that was all) at the Quality Suites Universal South on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Check-​in was quick as we were the only one there at that time. They were able to switch us to an available king bed as our numbers had changed and no longer needed two full size beds. As we went up to the 3^rd floor, we could not access our room due to a fire door being closed and the push bar to open it on the other side. This required us to go around to another stair well away from our room and work our way back. This extra trip allowed us to appreciate some of the gang graffiti that was tagged on fire evacuation routes, counter tops, doors, and stucco walls. Not the presentation we expected.
The outside of the hotel was dingy and old. We made our way to our room (311) and attempted to enter, but had to fight the door some. The carpet was stopping the door from opening freely so after some pushing we were finally able to enter. The room smelled fine and no pungent odors were detected. Tired, we got ready for bed after trying to find something to watch on television. The remote control was not too responsive and took multiple button pushes to work. The printed channel lineup did not match what the actual channels were. We plugged in our cell phones into the convenient table lamp outlets and attempted to access the available high speed wireless, but alas, there was no signal. We had great 4G coverage, however. The bed was very close to the wall, making it difficult to walk around the bed to get onto it, so expect some climbing. Once the air conditioning unit (which is right next to the bed) kicked on, it sounded like a generator trying to start and shook the wall and ran loud each time. This woke us up multiple times. The bed was uncomfortable and neither of us got much sleep. The pillows were not king sized and were all flat. I would recommend bring your own or requesting an extra two per person.
Since we were dead tired, we attempted to ignore these distractions and sleep through it. Unfortunately, this did not happen. We both woke up sore and tired. Thankfully, this was the only night we are staying there. I would not recommend this hotel if you have to stay for an extended period of time, as it will add unneeded discomfort to your hectic Orlando vacation.
On the way down the stairs to the car, we found what might’ve been the problem with the wifi connection. Where the wifi router/​signal was mounted on the other two floors, was missing on our floor (third). Only a wire remained hanging. We attempted to stop at the breakfast buffet for a quick snack before hitting the road, but there was no toaster to use. At least we found a Dunkin Donuts about half a mile down the road.

In the interest of full disclosure, we didn’t actually stay the night at this hotel… because after seeing the room we immediately rolled all of our luggage back to the car and checked out. We ended up paying for one night as a penalty. You know when someone says «I would pay money not to FILL IN THE BLANK.» Yeah… that ended up being 100% true. I would pay money not to stay the night at the Quality Suites Universal South. The room had a musty/​moldy smell, there were stains on the bedding, the curtains and furniture were faded and frayed, the bathroom had a flickering light bulb that made it better suited to serving as a set piece in a low-​budget horror movie than getting naked and taking a shower, and the DEALBREAKER? There were dead bugs under the mattresses (discovered when we checked for evidence of bed bugs)… the deceased bugs were not, in fact, «bed bugs» but since we didn’t have an entomologist in our party, we couldn’t identify what kind of insect they actually were. Why did we even book a room here in the first place? We actually stayed in this very same hotel two years prior… and it wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t awesome, mind you, but it also wasn’t nightmare inducing. What a difference two years makes! This place is a total DUMP… *shudder*… consider yourself duly warned:(FYI: We ended up splurging on the B Resort, located near Downtown Disney, and it was awesome!

Total dump. Crappy rooms. I had to clean my own coffee maker the whole stay. Front desk staff locked me out, told me I had to pay cash for my entire stay and then refused to return the charges they already applied to my credit card. God bless Amex or these uncaring crooks would have gotten paid twice

Best price in town, but you get what you pay for. The staff was helpful and friendly, but the room and building, though clean, is in need of some updating. This was most evident in the bathroom and the thin walls. We chose this location because it’s between Disney and Universal and offered a shuttle to both.
The shuttle is not worth the hassle, it made stops at four other hotels overcrowding the bus and took twice as long to get the Disney. And it only ran at limited times as well.
If I was to do it again I would look somewhere else.

Terrible service, no water available to drink, noisy environment, tiny breakfast are serving to hundred people, food sucks!

I stayed here with a friend for 4 days, rooms are not suites and there are bugs and roaches in the room and bathrooms, I killed several with my shoes. This is a disgusting place.

Eww. Thats all I can say. It looked like a hotel room from the 80’s. It was cheap, so not complaining too much… you get what you pay for. Don’t let the outside deceive you (which was nice looking) the rooms ARE NOT SUITES, merely a couch bed added to a regular room. A/​C worked, so that was nice. PS the breakfast was nothing more than english muffins and a sausage patty – and a waffle if you don’t mind waiting 30 minutes after 10 unsupervised children

There were small ant-​like bugs all over the bathroom counter in the first room we were in. We were switched to a second room, but the person at the front desk was rude and acted like this was a huge inconvenience. I don’t understand how this was a problem because they were not busy and it was the middle of the week during the off-​season.
When we went to the second room, I immediately checked the bathroom and found it to be bug free. Satisfied that I wouldn’t have to deal with bugs, I kicked off my flip-​flops and took a couple of steps into some kind of invisible sticky substance in the carpet. I still shudder to think what the sticky substance may have been! I complained again and was met again with the same rudeness as the first time. They refused to give me a refund because I had a reservation and didn’t cancel within the specified time frame… blah, blah, blah. Of course the manager wouldn’t be available to speak with me until the next day.
We had only reserved one night, so we decided to stay since the rest of the room seemed clean enough, albeit extremely out-​dated. We just made sure to keep our shoes on until we got in the bed.
The next morning, I asked to speak to the manager while we were checking out. He was actually more rude than the front desk person we had dealt with the night before. Not only did he offer no type of refund (even a small percentage would have been nice), but he didn’t even apologize.
Because both the manager and front desk employee were so rude and we had to deal with bugs, I decided to call the corporate offices for Choice Hotels and complain. I simply wanted to make them aware of the problems at this particular location. They were nice, polite, and concerned. They even sent me $ 80 worth of coupons to be used toward another stay at any of their hotels. Thanks to these coupons, I found Quality Suites (The Royale Park Suites) in Kissimmee.

Gotta say, for $ 62 a night, we were expecting hookers and cocka-​roaches, but got a clean room in a pleasant locaation.
This place is kind of off the beaten path, and mis-​leading when we pulled in. There were about 5 cars in the parking lot. Figuring this place was on the brink of being condemned, we soon realized that no one was there because they were all at the theme parks.
In the room, a clean bath room and comfy beds made it worth while. We spent the least amount of time there as possible which probably helped.
Downs– No business center. You can rent a laptop for $ 10 an hour. (no thank you) Pool is kid infested and the hot tub was luke-​warm. Forget about breakfast. The Disney fiends are up at the crack of dawn and gobble it up.
Pros– Cheap and clean.
