Since 1947, we have been selling a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Come visit the store to see our current stock, or call us if you are looking for something in particular.
As you walk up to the patio to enter through the front door, a sign on your left reminds you that the vet will be here from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Wide spaced aisles with shelves of gardening supplies and various hardware are on either side. And the main counter is in clear view, with a clerk standing by the register welcoming you and asking if they can be of assistance. I ask for potting soil, and a employee leads me to a patio where pallets of potting soil and bags of other gardening/agricultural products are stacked outside. As the employee gets a bag of potting soil for me and places it on a dolly, I can hear the chickens cluck from the pen to my right. And from where I stand, I can see the Orlando skyline! I love this place! Palmer Feed Store reminds me of the old country feed/hardware stores I have been in throughout my life. But located on Church Street off Westmoreland. I have not been here in years. With all of the big chain hardware stores throughout the area, it is easy to overlook a small local business like this place. But being in the area a few days a week, I always make a note to stop in if there is something I need for a project I am working on. Palmer Feed Store features lawn and garden supplies, bait and tackle, pesticides, hardware, pet food and supplies, fencing and wood poles, hay, and pine needle mulch. Need a hay bale for your costume party/yard decoration this upcoming Halloween? Palmer has it. And if you are in a Orlando neighborhood that allows you to have chickens, Palmer has what you need for your chicken coop. Even chicks. Palmer also has ducklings, parakeets, pheasants, and other fowl. The employees are friendly and helpful, and know their stuff when it comes to any product you need for working in the yard or garden. And they must be doing something right, since they have been in business from 1947. Their phone number is 407841‑8924. Fax is 407447‑1182. . The only thing missing in this place is a couple of farmers sitting out front talking about Farmer Earl drinking too much of his corn squeezins’ and running his tractor through the side of his barn!

Love these guys! Head here every fall to get our hay for our seasonal scarecrow and end up with a bunch of additional stuff we didn’t know we needed. They are rebuilding after the fire several months back. Here’s hoping they keep a lot of the past in their new building. Nice to have this throwback store in the middle of downtown catering to a simpler way of life.

Since the fire nearly destroyed the place, they’re operating out of a couple of trailers and the sheds that didn’t burn. Rebuilding will start soon, but the best news is that they’re still open!

Pet Rescue by Judy needed some specialty pet medical stuff and being a downtowner I was the one that drew the straw to head into The Heart Parramore to get the supplies This is the real deal! Think about this, it’s a farming store right in the shadows of downtown Orlando. This place as been here since 1947 or 48 and they have everything you’ll ever need for the outdoor and or pet project you’ll have around the house. It was shocking to find such a place that can survive 1) being in downtown and 2) not put out of business by one of the BIG Chain store places. These guys know there business and it’s been family owned since it opened. Seriously if you find some whacked out old school, plant, pet, house keeping remedy on the Internet chances are these guys will have it. This is one of the business that Orlando grew up with and I for one hope they stay around for the next generations.
