Saw their ad from a Google search which advertises no upfront cost, no other fees, only $ 79.00 per month, and filled out the online form for my rental property in Orlando Florida. I put the street name but not the house number on their online form and my phone number because one of the questions asked if the house was now vacant. Why would I want someone I’ve never met or spoken to, a company I’ve never heard of before today know that my property is vacant? Seems odd that anyone would want a total stranger to know that the home they have is sitting vacant awaiting a potential burglary.
I received a voice message from Allison to call her back on a Jacksonville, Florida phone number. I called and spoke to a «gentleman» that explained that I was calling the Jacksonville office. When I asked if he actually had an office in Orlando and not just a Post Office box address in Orlando he stated that the staff was better equipped to handle new clients and that Allison was their representative for Orlando.
He then started asking for my personal information and my property address. I stated that I would prefer to give that information to someone in my area of Orlando and would appreciate if he could give me the direct number to the Orlando office in which he replied «Sir, we would not be interested in doing business with someone like you.» I stated that I would rather not have my home robbed by a company based in Jacksonville that uses an Orlando Post Office box as a local office address and asks people if their home is vacant. Whereupon he hung up the phone on me.
Be very leery of Orlando Property Management Pros. Rental fees are usually 10% or more per month to manage a property and a month’s rent to find and vette (qualify by doing a financial and criminal background check) on applicants.
