I saw a review bookmarked the place to try. I was working late Friday night being my offie was near decided to give this place a try. It is a food truck which I found easy. I got my husband ribs, mac and cheese and steamed cabbage. I got oxtails with peas and rice and mac/cheese. The mac and cheese was awful! While the BBQ sauce on the ribs was really good the ribs themselves were dry and a tad bit salty. They were not fall off the bones ribs. The oxtails were good but loose the seeds. Rice and peas were tasty. No I want be going back as this was not a meal where we were like OMG we have to have this again! The exploring continues…

If you’re hungry after the club, this is the place to go! Their jerk chicken is tasty and very spicy. I love to eat the jerk chicken with the hard dough bread. However, my favorite thing to order is their fried conch. I do not know a lot a places in Orlando that prepares conch the right way. You will not go wrong ordering it from One Love Kitchen. This is a must try food truck if you are in the area.

Where is the Facebook page or Twitter link or website? Me naw gat da mon. Dis a de ting, you want jerk chicken you go find me. If u cain’t find me, u last. Me awright. Blood cloth, mon, dis a de reeal ting, star. Listen carefully. I have been carrying around this secret for years now. Before the food truck craze hit mainstream America and the FoodNetwork did an actual show, and Food Truck is a life style in Austin, Texas and now there are Food Truck Bazaars all around Orlando, and everyone with an appetite wants to eat from a food truck, the jerk chicken was smoking slowly on Colonial Dr. Where on Colonial? You drive on Colonial all the time. How can you miss it? One Love Kitchen Food Truck pulls up around 8 pm on Thurs, Fri, and Sat in front of Jahworks Automotive Repair Shop. The rasta, Mr. Popeye,(yes that is his name), comes ready to go. Most things are cooked from home and driven to the location ready to serve. Some things are cooked to order. I am not very concerned with the other things on the menu. My affection is for the Jerk Chicken. Not that the other things are bad, they are not. I am told as I stand around and wait that the ribs, rice and peas and other things are great, but like I said, Jerk Chicken. He lights the smoker and nurses it to the right temperature. At around 9 — 9:30 pm he may put the first batch of chicken on depends on business. I like to have my chicken hot off the smoker so when I get home it is still hot. I have eaten the chicken from his warmer and I find it either too dry, too cold, or just not right. So over the years we have come to an agreement that I will only take chicken from the smoker. We have argued about this way back when. Even though I have been eating jerk chicken from Mr. Popeye for years now he will not divulge the recipe. However, I’ll say that he marinates for 2 days and brings the chicken in a big container with a screw-on cover. He offers small orders for $ 7 and large orders for $ 10. An order can have sides of bread or rice and peas. I have chicken with bread to sop up the remaining sauce. The chicken can be eaten as is, straight from the smoker or with sauce. Upon ordering request the heat level of the sauce. This is Jamaican hot. Don’t mess around. If you can’t handle Scotch Bonnet pepper don’t eat it. It will burn a hole in your pants, if you know what I mean. I have found that a good amount of pepper mixed with his own barbecue sauce compliments my chicken well. You may request yours anyway you like it, or ask for a taste. The chicken is all leg quarters. It is fall off the bone goodness. The flesh is tender and plump with ample give on the bite. The bones are tender enough to chew. I know people who chew and swallow the bone, I don’t. This is best eaten with bare hands. This food truck is located in a part of town that is not so desirable, especially at night. But even though it may look seedy, over the years that I have frequented this food truck, there have been nothing to worry about. There are like minded people who gravitate to great food. Fear not food warriors. This will be the best piece of chicken you will ever eat. Every ting irie, rasta.

Boyyyy, looky here! In my 29 years, I have to start off by saying this food truck is purveying THEBEST smoked ribs I’ve had in a long time. About a month ago, on the way down West Colonial, I saw a gentleman rocking a wool Rastafari cap, flipping meat on a large smoker in front of a Caribbean themed food truck. I was tempted to stop right then and there, but made a mental note to come visit on a future outing. So this weekend, I decided to make the commute and it was wellll worth it. As soon as I was in vicinity of the truck, without even getting a visual, I could smell barbecue wafting into my car through the windows! I knew I was minutes away from some good eatin’. One Love Kitchen is bonafide Island fare. I chatted with the cook manning the smoker and asked him a few questions about their food before walking up to the truck to peruse the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed his passion and enthusiam for his cuisine. Here’s what you can expect. your choice of an entrée and 1 or 2 sides. Entrees include smoked BBQ Beef/Pork ribs, Jerk Stew Fish, Brown Stew Fish, Jerk Chicken/Shrimp/Fish, Fried Snapper, Curry Chicken/Shrimp and Conch. Sides include Baked Macaroni and Cheese, Rice and Peas, Potato Salad, Veggies, Onion Rings, French Fries and Salad. After reviewing the selection, I asked a few of the regulars what they recommended and the consensus was RIBS. So I took their advice and ordered up some ribs and a side of Rice and Peas. I didn’t know what to expect, but knew I was in for a treat. The woman taking my order was very helpful when I asked her a few questions about their ribs and sides. I waited about 5 minutes before she called me back up to the window to hand me my order. When I took the to-go box from her, my arm immediately felt the weight of the food. I was surprised at how heavy it was. Sweet! When I opened the box inside my car, my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets! Jamaican me crazy! I didn’t expect to see such decadent and bountiful ribs! For some reason, I thought they would be short ribs. No no no, these bad boys were the REALDEAL. The 4 – 5 pork ribs were ohhh sooo tender and were essentially sliding off the bone without any help from me. Drool, and their sweet flavored BBQ sauce was an excellent compliment to the deep smokey flavor of the pork. Good thing I was alone because if I were eating with a friend, they’d be astonished and maybe even repulsed at how I was laying into these ribs as if I went on a week long fast. These ribs were so good and indulgent I felt like I was committing a sinful act. The rice and peas were delicious as well. Lightly seasoned with slivers of carrot and onion was a fabulous contrast to the savory entrée. This is one of the absolute best food trucks in Orlando. I will make it a point to go back and try their Brown Stew Fish, Curry Chicken and Jerk Wings. Just a few notes. The place is on the corner of Pine Hills Rd and W. Colonial so the area doesn’t have the best reputation. But rest assured, the owners and clientele were very friendly and I felt welcomed. They do take credit/debit cards. I’m not sure what their hours are, but they are open from 7pm to late into the night on the weekends. If I can confirm the phone number, I’ll update the business info. That way, for added convenience, you could call ahead before picking up your order. This place seriously owns.
