First time here… great indoor skate park, especially for the kiddos. Its a bit on the smaller side so i can see this location getting very packed if there’s a larger group of skaters. I do like that they offer an adult skaters night Tuesdays starting at 6pm for $ 6. To skate its $ 11 and a little extra for rental of helmets. Membership is $ 100. Staff was friendly and offered us some good info and tips regarding membership vs paying everytime you go.

the nice lady that assisted us upon arrival was nice and since we arrived late(two hours before closing and out of town’rs she offered us a break on price :) there were some older kids skating and one stopped to teach my son a trick that was super nice… if your in the area this is a nice getaway from the parks for a few hours let the kids burn off some steam. –

Metro Skatepark, a.k.a. Metro Skateboard Academy is an indoor skateboarding facility southwest of downtown Orlando. The ramps and bowl are of wood construction and are in great condition. My son and I have been there several times to beat the heat or a rainy afternoon in lieu of going to one of the outdoor concrete parks in the area. Our most recent visit was a bit disappointing. One of the benefits that the business promotes is to provide wi-fi for parents that are there with their skateboarder. On this visit the wi-fi was non existent despite signs posted providing the password to use it. When asking for assistance at the front desk for access, the apathy of the staff member was palpable. A day pass is $ 11 to participate in the«open skate» session. A bit on the high side compared with other parks. The biggest bummer of the day was the near takeover of the park by a group of inline skaters that showed little to no regard for the others there using the park for its intended purpose; skateboarding. Staff was aware of the conflict between the user groups and chose not to be involved. As a result, use of the park was very limited. In the future IF we decide to return, we’ll be cautious to find out if the park is being used for non skateboarding purposes before we open our wallet. Metro has a lot of upside potential as a skatepark, if they would deliver on it actually being one.
