Description

Specialties

Orlando’s Neighborhood Restaurant seeks to elevate the experience of engaging others in an entertaining epicurean environment. Located in the heart of a quaint neighborhood in Colonialtown, our downtown location is lively, fresh, & balanced by day, while revealing a sexy, comfortable, & delicious vibe by night.

The menu features Italian & Mediterranean fare while expanding to offer diversity in features from such influences as Indian, Asian, Latin, & Southwest cuisine. The Tasty Beverage Emporium has over 30 wines by the glass as well as 40 beers from PBR tall boys to great microbrews. Think a «world traveller’s parlor» setting defined by warmth, ecclectic artwork, collectibles & a bar conducive to socializing. Entertainment 5 nights a week, wed-sun. Whether you are simply celebrating the passions of life or a special occasion, Maxine’s is a great place to savor the passions of life where «Good Attitudes are Welcome, Great Attitudes are Embraced, & Bad Attitudes are Changed.»

History

Established in 2012.

337 N Shine Ave has been home to Shine Ave Deli, Union Jacks, Bravissimo, & Shine Neighborhood Kitchen over the past 15 years. It was purchased in November of 2011 by Kirt Earhart. Mr. Earhart kept the menu & décor mostly w/o change until January 1, 2012, when it closed for 4 days of renovations. It reopened as Maxine’s…On Shine, named after his wife, on January 5th. Mr. Earhart was most recently the Managing Partner of Graffiti Junktion in Thornton Park and has been working in the hospitality & beverage industries in Orlando since 1993. Managing Partner & Chef Bret Ashman, has built a strong underground following in The Milk District w/his entities Spooky’s Black Cat Café, The Milk Bar & The Social Chameleon. Maxine is a former Miss New York & international model who loves to see others having a great time over food, drink and conversation. The goal of Maxine’s is to be the best neighborhood restaurant it can be to it’s immediate neighbors & secondarily to Greater Orlando.

Meet the Business Owner

Kirt E.

Business Owner

Kirt has given his professional life over to the world of service & hospitality. Since graduating from FSU in ’93, Orlando has been the area in which he has given thought for food, drink & the kitchen sink. He worked w/Manuel’s on the 28th as a server, manager & director of sales & marketing. After his 1st trip to Napa in which he was baptized in the juice of the vine, he joined Premier Beverage as a member of the hotel & restaurant wine team. It was there The Juice Pimp was born & epicurean commentary in Orlando found a new fluid voice. He took a position w/Bong Spirit Vodka as the National Brand Ambassador in 2005. He helped open a new restaurant concept on I Drive, & consulted on a tequila & a organic wine import company. Tough times led to waiting tables at Bravissimo & Del Frisco’s before assuming the role of GM & Managing Partner at Graffiti Junktion — Thornton Park. His partners offered Shine Neighborhood Kitchen for purchase & he is now realizing his ownership dream.
