I got my hair and makeup done here for my cousins wedding that was held at this hotel. I was extremely disappointed by my hair. I could have easily done it myself much better! The first lady did my hair similar to the picture I showed(big voluminous curl:), but my hair fell flat within an hour. That lady already left for the day so a second woman helped me out. Instead of the look I wanted. She gave me extremely tight sherly temple curls and told me they’d fall out to how I want them before the start of the wedding. Well she was completely wrong and I absolutely hate the way my hair looks. Don’t use this salon– you can do your hair better yourself.

I’m really on the fence about this one… I was at the Hyatt for an event with my daughter and scheduled an appointment to have her hair styled. I scheduled the«Lil’ Stars» which was described as «Our junior blow dry and style service, partnered with her choice of accessory.» I think her stylist’s name was Joyce(or something similar). She met us at the counter when we arrived and we had no wait, even though we were early, so that was nice. I described what I wanted for the hairstyle and she got to work on my daughter’s hair. I told her that we needed the hair to last several hours for the event and I asked her to add enough hairspray to hold it. Well, basically, she curled her hair and it looked really cute for about two hours. By time of our event however most of the curl was gone(and no, we didn’t go outside, or really do anything fun that afternoon, it just flopped). I was so disappointed. I’m not sure what they normally do for a junior service, but I was pretty much expecting a regular blow-out, just for a kid. Whenever I’ve had a blow-out the style usually lasts for a couple days, not just a few hours. The products she used on her hair were a beach spray while she was curling and an aerosol hairspray when it was done. I think maybe these products just weren’t the best choice? I don’t really know, not being a hairstylist and all. Our stylist was not very talkative, which was kind of disappointing because my daughter was pretty excited to be there. Another little girl came in while we were there and the gentleman doing her hair was much friendlier. I didn’t realize until I just wrote the review, but the service description says it includes a hair accessory, which we were never offered. So, while I generally really, really like Marilyn Monroe Spas, I’m feeling pretty let down by my experience at this one. Side note, for day #2 of the event, I decided to do her hair myself, copied the style as it was done the day before, used a TON of hairspray, and it held all day until she hit the pool at night. So, I think it really was bad hair product choices that did it in.

Great service. Found this spa on Unilocal while on vacation for my 20th Anniversary! Had great reviews and this is why I chose to come here.

The service and wonderful job these ladies did encouraged me to go to the spa by me in DT. Petersburg. The experience my friend and I experienced from the moment we walked in the door was nothing but superb. The gel polis lasted for three weeks and I most certainly could have pushed it to four. Yes it is not expensive then the local nail aced, but because the gel lasts longer it is actually a better deal. Any where else I have been the gel starts to lift and peel after a week, so you can only understand how pleased I was that my nails still looked good at week three! I would have pushed it another week if we were not going out of town. The women there were fun! I enjoyed the conversation I had with all of them!

As someone who works with her hands a lot, I prefer a gel manicure to regular polish. It doesn’t chip and usually lasts 2 – 3 weeks. I’ve had my nails done before, but I had my nails DONE by Erika at Marilyn Monroe Spa Grand Cypress. My fingers are GORGEOUS! I absolutely love the colors we chose. I have 8 beautifully sparkly red nails, and two black accent nails with silver glitter on top!(I forgot the names of the colors! Darn!) I was in for a simple gel mani, but Erika made me feel like I was at home with my bestie having a girls’ night in! I was relaxed at the nail bar in a big, fluffy warm robe sipping the delicious lemon spa water. I LOVE the sanitary protocols that the Marilyn Monroe Spas brand uses: single use items like the buffer and nail file are given to you to take home, and the nail primer is done with two tester-type brushes, one for each hand and not double dipped. It feels great knowing that I’m not going to pick up some funky nail germ because of the precautions they use! All in all, if you’re staying at the Hyatt, or you’re in the neighborhood, stop by this spa and treat yourself! I know I’ll be getting my nails done as often as possible!
