Stay away from this place. Previous owner was honest, new owner and management are crooks.
I had my AC repaired and completely replaced at Mac’s in 2013. just over 2 years later the AC stopped working. I went back to Mac’s. They diagnosed and told me over the phone I would need a complete new system with belts and tensioners, fan blower motor compressor, hoses and condenser. They quoted over $ 2000. The original repair was $ 663. I explained the compressor is under lifetime warranty clearly printed on my original receipt. They first said that they were under new ownership and could not honor the warranty. Knowing better I argued the point and threatened to hire an attorney. They agreed to honor the warranty but that would only cover $ 400 of the estimated $ 2000. I decided to stop by and have them show me the estimated repairs knowing most of the things they said were in need of replacement were replaced just two years prior. When I arrived they greeted me at the door and started apologizing right away stating they went off of assumptions and should have double checked. Big red flags should be going up for anyone reading this review.
They did end up replacing the compressor but I had to pay the labor. I again was provided a receipt that clearly states parts and labor warranty for 12 months/​12000mi. Well its has been only 6 months and the AC has failed again. I went back to Mac’s yesterday 3÷10÷2016 and they will not honor the warranty. They are stating that the warranty was already honored with the replaced part. That is not what the receipt says as it clearly states parts and labor (remove and replace compressor) are covered for both labor and parts.
I am now in the process of filing suit in small claims court.

I am writing this review as I wait.
As promised on the phone, I was not charged to have my car scanned but if they needed to go in and do a diagnosis its $ 45. That’s better than the $ 280 I paid at Ford and the $ 3000 estimate they gave me to fix my engine light and AC problem. Uh 2^nd opinion please.
The shop isn’t hard to find at all. If you miss the turn just take the next turn and go back. You’ll know when you’re there because U-​haul is across the street. When you turn in it reminds me of a storage facility where you see all these garage doors open on the sides but it’s automotive businesses and Mac’s the first shop you see when you drive through the gate.
I parked, walked in and was greeted by «Adam» who also lend me his phone charger. gave my info. sign a form and even though I showed up 45mins late they were cool with it. Can’t help life getting in the way of things, ya know. He suggested that if I do get hungry there is a pizza place in the direction of WAWA that sells by the slice. Literally it’s just up the street.
My engine light is not coming off and I found out that it’s a sensor gas issue. My AC stopped blowing cold air and hisses at me. I was told I had to replace the entire thing by Greenway Ford and don’t get me started about the engine light.
My Focus is a 2010 2 dr car that has never been on a long drive besides me driving 17hrs to Orlando. I rarely used my AC so now. I need a new unit… that doesn’t sound right. Chicago is cold 9 months out of the year and my car is in a garage and gets maintenance as well as a yearly emissions test. Now all of a sudden after I had my bearings done at Ford now I have an AC issue and an engine light problem… da hell?!
Now when I review places where I get work done on my car I tell you what I pay so that you have a better idea and not going into these places blindly.
I arrived at 11:45am and was done just before 4pm. Replacing the gas tank sensor pressure thingy with labor and parts and tax was $ 519. I’m now driving around with a chemical in my AC compressor to see where the leaking is coming from. I’ll return a week later.
I was checked on from time to time and I suggest everybody to take the drive and save $$$$ for amazing service in person and on your vehicle.

I have had my car worked on over the last 2 years at Mac’s Auto service for different problems. When I pick up my car they walk me through the repair and show me any old parts and the new installed ones if visible. While working on my car they saw something that needed to be fixed that I had not known about. When I came in to pick up my car Mac showed me what was wrong and told me that I could get a couple of months driving in before it had to be fixed.
Every one that I have met at Mac’s has been kind, polite and honest.

I went to Mac’s about a month ago to get some transmission and break work done. So far, my vehicle is still running fine.
Mike, the main mechanic, was very courteous in his demeanor and generous with his time in explaining how and why my vehicle wasn’t working.
I’ve certainly paid more money for work that didn’t last. When I last had work done on my car at a different mechanic, I was charged about $ 85 per hour, and the work lasted just a few days after their 30-​day guarantee.
At this place it costed $ 65 per hour (I can’t guarantee what they’re prices will be for you) and my vehicle works just as well now as it did when I pulled out of their shop. In fact, Mike showed me some issues with my breaks and told me that he felt they didn’t have to be worked on. That’s right, no high pressure sales here to squeeze every last dollar out of the customer. Mike actually showed me how I had an issue that I could put off repairing for at least three months. I like that.
Off topic: If you can’t get someone to pick you up and drop you off during the time your car is being work on, walk on over the Italian restaurant that’s attached to a gas station. I know, it sounds kinda scary. But the food was delicious, the homemade pizza dough was perfect. Mike recommended the restaurant to me, and it was a stellar recommendation.
The shop doesn’t look like much from the outside. But they do very good, honest work and a very good price.

I found this place after having a unfortunate recurring problem with Irish Mike’s.
Very friendly people who let you know what’s wrong with your car and let you make the decisions from there. EXTREMELY Nice and funny.
I really would recommend this shop.
