Lard Lad Donuts And Ice Cream

Got a donut from here. Reasonably priced. Pretty good donut. Fast service. I’d definitely snack on these again if I’m back in town!

The kids loved it, they thought it was so funny! And the big pink donut was really good, not dry or hard at all, I was surprised. $ 5 a piece wasn’t too bad I thought. It was more than enough for a family of 4! Definitely a must stop just to say you had one!

Got a regular pink sprinkled donut. The donut was good as any other place. The hype was that it is the ones we see Homer usually eat and it is located in Springfield in Universal Studios. They also have milk if your craving some milk with that donut. The only bad thing is the line was pretty long about 20 minute wait but I did go during high season. I’ll definitely be back for the big donut !

A legitimately good doughnut that somehow rivals some of the best I’ve had in recent years. I wasn’t sold on the first bite, but kept eating to discover it’s the perfect combination of moist (why does it have to be that word?), doughy, and sweet. A fork and knife are recommended due to the massive size. We ended up getting an extra to take home for breakfast the next day, which I think is the highest praise possible for theme park food.

Protip: Despite the pink coloring, the frosting is a vanilla flavor. I generally shy away from pink-​colored sweets since I don’t like strawberries and am glad I took the plunge on this dessert.

I get a donut every morning. The donut was definitely more of a gimmick then tasty. Was more of a giant Cakey donut. It was good for a picture but not really my thing for eating

Store front is adorable, accurate and the donuts are pretty good. I set the bar low because at theme parks I always have super low standards but these donuts surprised me. The big pink donut was a cute novelty offering at a reasonable price and my kids thought it was great. We also tried some other regular flavors which were pretty good. However, IRL if these donuts were offered in a non theme park location I would not buy them. It’s the Simpsons influence that make them better!

Was devastated when we were just about to reach the counter, they announced they were out of the Big Pink donut! How could they be out! It was only mid day!
Bought one regular sized pink donut. With all theme park food, we try to lower our expectations. But wow, this was way above expectations!

This donut does not come cheap (about 2.5 for a regular donut). Well worth the calories consumed and bucks spent!

Lard Lad’s is impossible to miss, with the eponymous Lard Lad statue standing next to the little shack where they sell ice cream and, of course, donuts.
We’d seen the gigantic pink Lard Lad donuts available for sale elsewhere in The Simpsons section of Universal Studios, however none of us were feeling like immediately getting diabetes so we just split a regular donut each between the two couples. My fiancée and I got a regular pink frosted donuts with sprinkles. While it was just the tiniest bit dry, it was worth spending a few bucks on just to say you did and get a picture in front of Lard Lad himself, or Chief Wiggum and his crashed car nearby. Shut up and take my money, Simpsons!

I was sure this place was a gimmick, but I gave it a try because Homer and I both love donuts!
Just a regular grocery store donut, slightly dry and nothing too exciting.
I still enjoyed it because, like I said, I love donuts, just don’t expect anything brilliant.

I guess you cant call me Clancy because I thought Lard Lads was only par. Ive had their boxed giant donut in Universal Hollywood a time or two and I always was surprised they were actually pretty good. After our previous experiences with those donuts we knew we would have to try one at Lard Lads. I dont know if it was because of a long day at Universal but I thought they were just ok. Nothing too amazing but I guess at a theme park that must mean they were pretty good. My gf and I didnt try the Ice cream there but I hear theres one opening in Hollywood soon so theres still time.

Line was really long to get this doughnut but well worth the wait, very moist and plenty for two or three people.

I did not have high hopes for the big pink donut. I was worried that it would be dry, gross, and too big to finish. I was completely wrong about everything!
This was one of the best donuts I have ever had. It was moist and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was definitely big, but split between two people, it was just fine. I enjoyed my donut and would gladly eat another one again!

If you see the Simpson donut cop and his police car parked, its literally parked at Lard Lad Doughnuts. Nice little spot to indulge in something sweet.
Is it the best thing you’ve ever eaten in your life? Nah. Its a regular donut with regular soft serve ice cream. Nothing spectacular about the way its baked. Its your standard donut with pink frosting which like any other donut will taste especially good if its fresh. Soft serve ice cream… well its soft serve ice cream, the mix together is exactly what you’d expect.
Apple fritter was good but cold… along with donut, both would have tasted a lot better if they were served warm.
Overall what would have just been 3 stars gets an extra one for the creativity and the start of what can be an interesting trend… The donut sundae.

I’m awfully surprised there aren’t many reviews for this but I guess this is a start at least. I got their 6-​inch cake sized donuts for $ 5 and didn’t have high expectations until the next day when my friends and I decided to eat it. Mind you that we were going to save it for dessert but never got the chance to have it so we ate it for breakfast. The donut was better than we expected and the frosting was still good even though it was refrigerated overnight. I can only imagine how it would’ve tasted the day of! Anyways, to conclude, I wish I bought another donut to take back with me to New York. Unfortunately, I don’t think I plan on going to Universal anytime soon. I will, however, ask my friends to get me one if they ever go =)

Great place for a snack at Universal. Big enough for two (or more) to split for around 5 bucks. Probably the best deal I found at Universal.
