Ibi Aveda Salon

Bad experience here. Owner is untalented and unprofessional. If something goes wrong, not interested in the least to give you your money back. Salon very small, warm and uncomfortable. Not up to Aveda standards, by any stretch of the imagination. Both myself and my girlfriend had a few bad experiences here. All IBI cares about is the money.

I love Aveda and their products so I am glad I found this salon. I’ve lived in Orlando for 4 years and I wish I knew about this salon when I first moved here!
Ibi is my favorite hair stylist! She is so talented and seriously transformed my uneven haircut/​train wreck balayage-​ish highlights into something so beautiful! She is the absolute sweetest & the treatment she gives you is great! I’ve already told so many people about her because I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair!
It’s in the very cute area of Thorton Park & the salon is clean and inviting.

This was my third visit to Ibi and Mallory has been my stylist everytime. I am very happy with my hair as always. I have gotten highlights each time but asked for the color a little different each visit. This time I went from light blonde to a more subtle dark blond with brown lowlights and I love it. She is very sweet and gives good advice. The salon itself is clean and very pretty. Whenever I go there I can tell there are a lot of «regulars» getting their hair done and I can see why.

I was very misled about this place since I saw that nearly all of the reviews gave this place 5 stars. I really wanted to like it-​I really did! I mean it’s within walking distance of where I live, it’s an Aveda salon & I prefer to support locally owned places, but this experience has literally left me in tears over my hair.
For background, I have very thick and wavy golden hair, but lately my roots have been coming in super dark, so I figured that getting highlights would help mask those pesky roots. Well, I had Ibi do my hair and I just had a bad feeling about it and in hindsight I should have left then and there. But, I stayed unfortunately.
Well, now my long hair looks like Eminem’s yellow blonde locks when he was SUPER blonde a few years ago. There are parts where the color is almost white and other streaks of literally YELLOW hair. I am so upset. I should have known that something was going to happen when I was sitting in the chair, with layers of foils already done and then she came over with a paint brush and literally coated the rest of my hair not in foils… There’s no dimension to my hair. Just bright yellow and white.
Just be careful where you come here, since I can tell that other people have had good experiences, but I was very, very letdown. And now I am going to the Ritz to have my hair «corrected».

I really liked how my hair turned out but they took me a half an hour late. I used a Orlando local deal to get the cut and style done and one of the employees came up to me and pointed out it had been run by accident but they would honor it.

This salon saved my sister on her wedding day! Her stylist was a no call, no show. We called around other salons in the area, and this one answered. They said to come in, and they would figure it out. They had us fixed up in less than an hour, and they were delightful and accommodating while helping us. Thank you, thank you Ibi for saving the day!

Ibi is amazing. I am very particular about my hair (it’s weird Asian/​German hair) band she cuts it perfectly each time. The salon is very stylish and urban loft style, but unpretentious, with a huge array of Aveda products in the front. Parking is validated.
Ibi is also very friendly and will listen to what you want. I am preparing to move from downtown, but will definitely keep coming back.
Not the cheapest, but very reasonable for the amazing quality. :)

I don’t really like to spend a ton of money on a haircut, but I heard about their summer special– $ 60 for haircut and partial highlight, so I had to go. Mallory cut and colored my hair and I loved it. They give you drinks while you wait or while you’re getting you hair cut– both soda and wine. Mallory was great, very friendly and did exactly what I wanted to my hair. I would definitely go back to visit Mallory.

I have lived in Orlando for over 10 years and have been to many salons in the both the downtown and Winter Park area. The experience I had a Ibi Aveda Salon was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. I purchased a great Refer Local Orlando for the salon and was excited to try them out. My stylist was Elizabeth, she was awesome! I had a clear gloss, haircut and eyebrow wax done. Even though I was using a coupon Elizabeth treated me as I was paying full price. She walked me through every step that she was going to do to my hair and took her time. She massaged my scalp while washing my hair and then even massaged my arms and hands. My hair turned out amazing and I’ve received many compliments. The salon uses all Aveda products which are 98% organic. I would definitely go back even without a coupon!

I have lived in Orlando for almost 5 yrs and have salon hopped with no loyalty to a particular salon until I came across Ibi Salon in Thornton Park by a mere fluke. I purchased an Orlando local deal and decided to give them a try because I really had nothing to lose! Blake was amazing and I was treated like I was paying full price even though I had a deal. And like a good customer I tipped off of the original price. I rebooked with him but Elizabeth stepped in for him due to a last minute family emergency. I have stuck with her ever since (both are awesome). She is very attentive to my haircut needs and is very precise with her cuts. I always, always get the best compliments after a visit to see her! She always accommodates my schedule and has even come in on her days off to cut my hair!!! I will stick with them until I either move or they go out of business (god forbid that ever happens). Give them a try. You won’t regret it! Oh and they validate parking in the garage so no need to freak out about finding parking off street!

Definitely miss going to this salon after moving across the country. I have long straight thick hair and every time it was layered to perfection – once by Laura and the other time by Ibi. Definitely nice people there – better on the weekends, so you can see the bustle and listen in on small talk :)

I had specifically booked an appointment with Mallory for my first visit. Upon entering I was greeted by the owner and a crabby Mallory. The two conferred amongst themselves and told me that Elizabeth would have to do my hair. I was given no explanation. I was a bit put off but figured what the hell. I’m glad I did. Elizabeth did a fantastic consultation and went above and beyond to exceed my expectations. She could have tried to «upsell» my services but didn’t and even told me how I could save myself money and time by not coloring as often as I had been. She explained each product she used but did not try to push a sale either like most places. Haircuts are pricey but overall I am very pleased. Also, for a $ 55 hair cut, I expect my hair to be flat ironed. At the very least, please offer the option.
