Specialties

Our goal is to keep a sustainable link between the local organic farmers and the community. Our farm store is open 3 days a week for public shopping and member order pickups (visit our online market website to learn more and to place your order).

We offer fresh, organic and local vegetables, fruit, free range and organic eggs, local cheese and other dairy products, grass and free range beef, free range chicken and duck, organic bulk products (beans, quinoa, rice, flour, nuts, etc), organic locally made tempeh, fresh baked additive and preservative free breads and baked goods (with many vegan options), fresh and locally made prepared food items, fair trade teas, coffee, and much more. We’ve recently added a vast herbal apothecary right in our store.

History

Established in 2007.

With a mission to «Cultivate Sustainable Community,» the Florida School of Holistic Living started the Homegrown Local Food Cooperative in 2007. Homegrown supports local, sustainable food and farmers and strives to create a viable, sustainable food network in Central Florida.

Homegrown Local Food Cooperative launched a weekly online food market in November of 2007, starting with the participation of ten local farmers. Initial activities took place within a 100 square foot room loaned to Homegrown by the School of Holistic Living.

Our current online farmer’s market boasts over 2,000 members with 45 local farmers and certified artisan kitchens. As of January 2010, we became an independent organization and incorporated as a not for profit cooperative in the state of Florida. We developed plans to relocate and expand to our current location, thus ensuring our ability to provide continued service to the larger community.
