Hillcrest Dental

Hillcrest Dental is absolutely the best. Top notch in all regards. I have been taking my family there for many, many years, and the care there for my teeth and my children’s teeth has always been excellent. Sharon has forever been my hygienist and has always done a wonderful job. Very thorough! Dr. Akkara is competent in the extreme and is a genuinely nice person. My grown daughter had a tooth problem last year that developed on a Sunday (of course). She called his office that Sunday evening — and he called back immediately (!!) He told her what to do and solved the problem, on the spot. Amazing. We need that kind of dedication and care everywhere. Anyway, I’ve seen many dentists in my lifetime, so I know the difference, and Dr. Akkara and his staff are five star all the way. If you are looking for a new dentist, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely two thumbs up!

I’ve been going to Hillcrest for my entire life. No, I’m not exaggerating. 25 years. It’s our local family dentist. My grandmother started at Hillcrest back when it was owned by Dr. Hodges. She started taking my father when he was very young. And my mother, and then myself and my brother followed suit. Hillcrest has handled so many procedures on my teeth, from routine cleaning, to wisdom teeth removal. And everything has been top notch.
A few years back, Dr. Hodges retired, Dr. Akkara took over and my family decided to stick around. And we’re glad we did. Dr. Akkara is fantastic. Very friendly and very good at his job.
Then there is the staff. Most of the same staff stuck around through the ownership transition, so most of these people I’ve known for almost my entire life. Sharon has been cleaning my teeth for who even remembers how long. And she is just great. So incredibly nice.
If you’re looking for a local dentist, look no further. And if the thought of going to a dentist freaks you out a little, you’ll be made to feel comfortable here. At Hillcrest, you’re family.

I went there as a new patient and the service I got was great! Prior to this I went to a «cosmetic» dentist and over the years I forgot what it was like to go to a true dentist that also had a staff that knew how to make a comfortable dental experience. I have sensitive teeth and even during a normal cleaning I usually experience some discomfort/​pain. The hygienist and Dr. Akkara were very good because I felt nothing during my cleaning and check up. The staff were also very friendly and the entire process between walking in and walking out was worry free.

I’ve been going to Hillcrest Dental for 14 years. They are always friendly and professional. I have been seeing the same hygienist since she started in 2006. Glacie is always gentle with my mouth and does a really great job on my cleanings. She is always very thorough and efficient.
I have never had to wait in the waiting room for very long, but when I do they have an interesting DVD playing on the TV set up out there. I always thought that was a nice touch.
Dr Akara is a caring and concerned dentist. He always takes the time to make sure you understand what he is doing and what is happening with your teeth.
I recommend this dentist office if youare in need of one. They do a great job and I have never had a complaint in all the time I have been going there.

Gleisy Delgado and Sharon have been my family’s hygienists for many years. They are very professional and personable. They both are very gentle and provide excellent dental services. Dr. Akkara is a good dentist who provides a clean and comfortable dental experience. Great place for family dentistry.

I have been seeing Dr. Akkara for about a year now, and I actually like going to the dentist now. Highly recommended.
Great location in Winter Park, easy access from I4 or Edgewater. Small parking lot that is shared with another practice, but I have never had trouble finding a place in the lot or on the street adjacent to the office.
Recently renovated, Hillcrest Dental has the mom-​and-​pop shop feel with the look of a refined dental practice. The staff are extremely friendly, the hygienists are skilled and caring, and I NEVER have to wait long for an appointment. Nobody likes sharp objects rooting around in their oral cavity, but the optional nitrous is great not only for the squeamish but for those of us who just need to relax a little.
If you’re in the market for a new dentist, give Dr. Akkara’s office a call; you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic Dentist, highly recommend. Dr Akkara is very neat, tidy and professional. I have been to a number of dentists and have never felt more confident than with Dr. Akkara. I know he is going to do a great job whether it’s a crown or filling or anything.
