So I’ve been coming here for a very long time but they recently obtained new owners and the customer service is the best! I got a gel manicure last week and today one of my nails broke off. I just went to get it fixed and they didn’t even charge me! Nothing is free anymore! I was so happy I decided to write this good review. They will continue to get my business :)

Don’t be mislead by the old reviews. Sure, this place had its woes in the past but this place has new staff and is completely updated from that salon of many years ago. There’s one thing I can count on here and that is a solid, beautiful, gel french manicure that lasts WAY longer than it should. The staff is very friendly and has been taking the time to get to know their clients. I’ve tried many other salons in the Waterford/Avalon area now and no matter where you go, getting the same quality job every time is such a crap shoot. Consistency is key for me and I know I’m going to get a good job each time I go in. Stop in and check it out. It has a new fresh look with some great service.

I no longer live in the area, but ever since I have moved I have not been able to find a SINGLE nail salon that is able to do even a simple flower on the toe, let alone the BEAUTIFUL flowers they used to do on my toe nails at this salon. I wish I could still go to them!

The star I’m giving them is for friendliness. Now, they left the edges of every single one of my nails without nail polish on my feet and hands. I didn’t mind so much for the pedicure as I did for the manicure. I have my nails in a pointy stiletto shape and I specifically asked before if he knew how to shape them how I wanted them and he said yes. He did not. He filed them completely round, ruining my work of about a month and a half on my natural nails. I asked him several times to make them pointier but if he kept going my nails would’ve been way too short to do anything to. So I just left it at that. He also cut me and left some cuticle. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever return. It wasn’t an awful experience but I wouldn’t wanna pay to be so dissatisfied.

The first time I came here for a pedicure it was amazing. The massage chairs were the best I’d ever used. Today however was one of the worst pedicures I’ve ever had. Cold water, massage chair didn’t work at all, switched to a different chair & that massage didn’t work either. So I went through my Pedicure with NO massage chair — which is one of the best parts of getting a pedicure! THEN, halfway through my pedicure, the lady leaves me to do an appointment she had. She was gone for 15 – 20 minutes, while I sat in cold water. Also, I had such horrible cell reception in their salon that I couldn’t use the Internet on my cell. I don’t understand why salons don’t have wifi? When I went to this salon today I was planning on having a $ 35 spa pedicure and also a manicure. The service was so terrible that instead I only got the basic $ 20 pedicure and no manicure, just so I could get the hell out of there. I just moved to Orlando & thought I had found my salon. Guess I need to keep looking.

I had VARIOUS issues with this salon which is why I’m writing a review. The nail tech was very rough with my nails, prying them off with a metal tool & his drill which kept burning through my natural nails. Everywhere else that I’ve been to soaks them in acetone first. He then did an awful job at applying the acrylic & filing. The tips of my nails were wider than the base & the acrylic was entirely too thick. After asking him to shape them rounder, he hastily filed some more. Mind you, the salon was EMPTY! I asked for French tips. He literally painted white ¾ of my nail after me politely asking for thin tips. When he proceeded to clean up the lines with the brush, he had applied so much polish on my tips that it started to raise. He then sloppily applied the pink tinted clear polish, missing corners of my nails & overlapping the white tips. I won’t even go into detail about the rough finish my nails had but the clear coat he used wasn’t glossy whatsoever. At this point I’d been there for almost two hours & didn’t have more time to waste! I went back in the next day & was told I have to wait TWODAYS to get my nails fixed because he didn’t work on Wednesdays. That or my other option was to pay for a new polish job after I JUST spent $ 30 there the previous day for nails even the nail tech herself acknowledged were unacceptable! If you are particular about your nails & you want classy, subtle, French manicured nails… this is NOT the place for you!

Every time I visit this salon, they are also so friendly and kind. I never wait long, whether I have an appointment or not. Nikki does the best pedicures, while Jessica does the best acrylic/manicures. Plus, they are SO cheap! $ 20 for a pedi, and like $ 15 for a full set. Can’t beat it.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to get a mani/pedi then DON’T come here. The girl practically massacred my toes… she rushed through and cut two of them pretty badly. The guy who did my best friend’s pedi cut her toe badly as well. They do not have a variety of colors and could not do what I asked for a gel mani. I’ve seriously never had such issues with a nail place before. Definitely a let down and definitely never coming back.

I walked into Hawaii Nails at 6:30 on Sunday night(I would later find out they had closed at 6 but had to finish one last customer. Nikki never complained once and when I brought it up she said she was happy to have let me stay). They have the nice massage chairs that most salons have these days. Their pedicure was cheap!!! I’m talking $ 20 for the basic, $ 25 for one with extra callus removal. I chose the $ 30 deluxe(which is what most places charge for the basic these days) and HOLYMOLY! Best pedicure I’ve EVER had! Nikki was wonderful. It was 45 – 50 minutes long and it included a callus removal, scrub with 3 different creams, hot towels, multiple massages etc, etc. She was patient and thorough and made sure there was no polish on my cuticles. I will definitely be going back and will always be requesting her. I can’t vouche for their nail services but I would definitely recommend their pedicure to a friend!
