Today was my first time eating here and enjoyed the food and service

The GERMAN was great. Service on the other hand not so much. Would recommend the food and beer though.

A very modern and unique place to go hang out, enjoy world class hot dogs and drink, located in the heart of downtown orlando. This place is unmatched. A full bar, plenty of games and a hot dog menu that will leave you speechless everything from the dogs the buns and toppings, there is something for everyone! Very reasonable pricing and the create your own dog option is spectacular. If you want to have not just a good dog but a great one i heavily recommend this place. Frank & Steins, thank you for existing! Haha.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite bars in Orlando!
Frank & Steins is a bar which predominantly offers hot dogs (Franks) and beer (Steins), as well as a full bar and other food options. The bar has two levels, but they usually only open the first level unless they are very busy. They offer shuffle board, virtual golf, and darts, so there is plenty to do along with drinking and eating.
I usually go to Frank & Steins for poker. They have a lot of space, so you don’t feel cramped like you would at other locations. The bartender Sabrina is one of the nicest bartenders you will ever meet!
When I go, I usually order a Windy City frank and an Old Speckled Hen stein. The Windy City is a Chicago-​style frank that seems to be almost a foot long with a bunch of toppings. They also include some homestyle chips, which goes very well with the frank. The small meal is cheap, delicious, and fills you up. The Old Speckled Hen is a very smooth beer that is very hard to find. Not only does (well, now did) Frank & Steins carry the beer, but they had it on their $ 3 «leaving» beer list, so it was super cheap for a while. The way this list works in general is they put their seasonal and limited beers on the list so that people can buy excellent beers at cheap prices while turning over their beer stock, which I think is a great idea. They also have a very extensive list of beers on tap and in bottles, many of which I have tried and enjoyed.
While I haven’t been there on one of their busy nights, I have immensely enjoyed my experiences at Frank & Steins and would highly recommend stopping in for a drink and a bite on any night.

Best night to come is Wednesday night for trivia! We have been coming for the past year and always have a great time. The atmosphere is great and there is a large selection of beers.

Pretty cool place. Reminds me of a few bars on the Hudson in Hoboken, NJ. Great beer selection with a comprehensive beer list. We stopped here on our walk through downtown when we were lost looking for a restaurant. This looks like a cool place to go with a group. My only complaint was there wasn’t a hostess when we came in… and as we found our way to the bar, we couldn’t tell the difference between the staff and the people hanging out there so we were a little intimidated.
I’ll expand on this review after we go there again and eat.

I live right above Frank & Steins. I love coming here. The staff is friendly and attentive. The variety of hot dogs and beers will satisfy multiple taste preferences. My favorite thing about Frank & Steins is that they have grilled wings, that are delicious. Currently, the only place downtown that serves grilled buffalo wings.

This place says they are open until 2, but they did not serve food until 2, so dont go hungry. We expected to have some beers and some franks. I do like the large selection of beers… just wish they served food at late hours.

Best draft beer selection downtown, always something new and something rare. Lots of events, tap take-​overs, & UFC PPVs throughout the year. The menu is take it or leave it – sandwiches, fancy franks, cajun tots, etc. — but you know that going in. Kitchen expansion coming soon.

Stopped in on Saturday afternoon for a quick bite… What a great surprise, the beer selection is awesome!!! The hotdog menu was also very creative, lots of choices and something for everyone. My brother in law had the original, which he liked very much.
My wife is not a big hotdog fan, so she had the veggie dog… It had lots of toppings to choose from. That made her very happy!
I had the German dog, a nice fat bratwurst with sauerkraut and whole grain mustard on a pretzel bun!!!
This place is a winner all around!!!

Best place in town to drink the newest Craft beers! Such a cool building inside with fun staff! I like to go here for UFC matches as there always a free cover and good atmosphere! tip: ask the bartender for parking voucher… its free to park if you park in the tower!

This place is pretty solid these days. It used to be really slow with only one server on lunch duty.
Drinks: Plenty of beer selections (I’m more of a wine drinker myself, though)

I’ve tried the Bacon Mac Frank– it’s a heart attack on a bun but it’s awesome!
I’ve also had the Santa Fe Frank which is great– avocado on a hot dog! Who knew?
My favorite is probably the honey mustard chicken & bacon. Great sandwich.
It’s a good place to hang with friends. They have TV’s as well as board games to play!

Great atmosphere, good drinks. The menu is the only draw back. If you are looking to come for dinner and really hungry, not the place. I will say it is a really great spot to hang out. All in all, good spot

This place is exactly what it is meant to be: a good beer selection and hot dogs. The wings here are also very good. They carry a full bar so as to not alienate non beer drinkers, but the beers on tap are the main attraction.
They feature taps from multiple local Florida breweries like Cigar City and Funky Buddha. Good place to come before a Magic or Solar Bears game at a reasonable price.
As an added bonus, they have almost every board game imaginable to help people put down their phones and actually have fun interacting with others.

Tasty grilled cheese sandwich on multigrain bread! Wide selection of craft beer on tap. Plenty of screens to watch sports. Clean and good service!

We were Wandering downtown on the hunt for lunch time eats and we wandered into Frank and Steins. There was little to no lunch crowd, which was kind of weird, and the place appeared clean, what could be wrong with that!
FOOD
The food was alright, I did enjoy the French dip dog but as other reviewers pointed out, the paltry amount of roast beef was hardly noticeable. What I truly did not like was the chips. It is just such a horrible idea. Why serve chips in a restaurant? I hear they serve tater tots, why don’t they serve those by default? They have a fryer so why no fries? When I get chips with my meal it’s kind of like getting the middle finger from the kitchen. «We value your business. But we are giving you this bag of chips Donny didn’t finish last night.»
Serving chips is cheap, trashy and basically says you don’t care about how you represent your kitchen.
DRINKS
They had what I asked for without issue, I know some reviewers have had issues with beers being tapped out but that was not an issue for me.
SERVICE
The service was okay, not great. Service can be slow, the staff isn’t super friendly and they seem to do a lot of standing around. I can’t imagine what this place would be like on a busy weekend or game time.
I do like the location, the board games and the fact they validate parking.
Try Frank and Steins at least once for yourself and see what you think.

Food is marginal bar food. Bar isn’t really a bar (no garnishes like oranges or cherries?). And the waiter and bartender could not have been less interested in being helpful.

First of all the place has a wall of board games! Instantly loving the vibe! We immediately grabbed connect four and started playing forgetting to look at the menu! The place was pretty packed and they had tons of TVs playing the college football games. Since the name includes franks we had to try the hot dogs! I ordered the F&S Chili Cheese Dog, their signature hot dog with chili and cheese on top. The franks come with an order of chips, not ideal but for the price makes sense. The hot dog was massive! Good flavor and the chili was very good, it had onions mixed in but thankfully the where so fine it didn’t over power. Wanted to try the smores flatbread for dessert but was tight on time, I’ll be back for it, sounded delicious!

Well, this Frank & Steins is way better than the Winter Park one. Stopped by for a drink after seeing a show at Dr. Phillips Center. The service was decent. Although, we were quite confused who the waitresses were because they were all wearing athletic clothes (did they all go to the gym before their shift?!?). Had a couple beers and a pretzel with queso. Sigh Frank & Steins… you have so much potential but aren’t taking advantage of it.

This place is one of those places that thinks having a huge beer selection makes up for every other massive deficiency imaginable. Sat at dirty-​ass table for 8 minutes, waiting on a server to clear and offer drinks. Place is LOUD and you can’t hear anything. Just chaos. They hire servers based apparently on looks rather than skills, so servers wander around moot helping each other clear tables. No discernible bussing staff. «Kitchen» is little more than what you would see at a WAWA or deluxe 7 – 11. Ambience and service are huge negatives. Can’t speak to the food. Gets more than one star because I imagine after $ 25 worth of beer none of the obvious problems here matter as much.

I’ve been here several times hoping for a better experience, but Frank & Steins continues to disappoint. The location and design of the restaurant is great, but their menu is not so great.
While they have a fairly extensive beer list and menu, nothing stands out. I’ve had several of their hot dogs and have never been blown away. My friends and I used to create crazy, unique hotdogs, and ours were much better. For being a restaurant that focuses on hot dogs, I would expect better. I also don’t like that their hot dogs are all served with a bag of potato chips. I’m not sure why this bothers me, but I would expect something better from a sit down bar and restaurant.
My most recent visit was during an Orlando City away game. I went with some friends expecting it to be on nearly every TV (like the majority of bars downtown), but they only had it on one TV. I realize people like other sports too, but a sports bar should really support their local team and not show reruns of past football games during the slow sports season.
Overall, the Unilocal two star description says it best: «Meh. I’ve experienced better.»
(PS. In their defense, I went once for a friends birthday and had great service. However, we were in the private area upstairs and not in the main portion of the restaurant.)

Great hot dogs and nice atmosphere. I can see everyone else’s experiences were not as positive as ours, so maybe it has to do with the time we went in (probably around 11pm on a Saturday). Service was quick, waitresses were very friendly. There seemed to be a lot of people in the place and the waitresses were working together to help each other out and make sure all the tables were attended to, which was nice to see.
I didn’t have any beer but my friend has a passion fruit cider which was apparently very good. They have an extensive menu with different kinds of hot dogs, but I opted to build my own with a spicy polish sausage, sauerkraut, potato strings, onions, and mustard. It was very tasty and just the right amount of spicy. My husband had the french dip, I had a bite and it was great. Not the absolute best hot dogs I’ve ever had, but definitely in the top 10. Chips were good too.
If you like hot dogs, give this place a shot.

So this place. The food is not fresh. It won’t taste good unless you are drunk. The one in winter park is way better! The waitress was great. Super attentive and helpful. She handled out large group very well. They had a lot of different types of alcohol which was awesome. I had a great pear cider.
This is not the place for talking. You cannot hear when others are talking unless they are yelling.
It was funny because there were a group with name tags in some networking group. They could hear each other at all.

I personally did not have a good time here. Our waitress was incredibly rude. She hurried us to order. We asked for a few more minutes and she came back 1 minute later asking us if we were ready yet and sighing like we were an inconvenience to her. Then when we were ready, she took forever to come back to take our order.
I ordered a simple jack and coke and the coke was completely flat. They were very good about taking it off the check when I sent it back though. Food was good and I know people who love this place, so maybe I just came on a bad day, but I will not be back.

Do you find neck and face tattoos on guys sexy? Do you like guys who wear knitted sock hats in 80 degree weather? Does Axe body spray make you feel tingly all over? Then by all means head into Frank & Steins for some unbridled madness.
You can get a great beer on tap and a fabulous hot dog, but you’ll devour it with regret once you see the crowd in this place. The service and food are pretty good, but the atmosphere to me is as fun as going to the dentist for a root canal. I would call this a «college bar», but I doubt many of the dudes in here have seen the inside of a college, university, or even a book.
I have been here before but if you come on the night of a big sports event, or a UFC fight night, just know the crowd will be annoying and trashed. I guess it would be fair to say this is not my scene, but I’m sure some people would like it.
When I was trying to exit the restaurant the bouncer keeps his knee blocking one exit door and the other exit door locked so you can’t leave unless he «decides» to let you out. Yeah it’s creepy and horribly tacky. If there is an emergency inside, good luck getting out of there. Maybe people leave without paying, so that tells me this is not the type of place I want to visit again. Way too unclassy. If I decide to get a «House of Pain» tattoo on my face someday I’ll probably come back, but until then… smell ya later Frank & Steins.
