The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is so much more than a place. So much more than a stage. So much more than entertainment. Yes, it’s all of that, but it’s also a symbol, a catalyst, and an inspiration. Think of it as a place you can go to not only see amazing performers and productions, but also to play and to participate, to learn and dream. The Dr. Phillips Center is a magnet for the creative spirit, where the diverse talents of the world, Central Florida and Orlando all come together. And there is a place for everyone.
History
Established in 2014.
It’s hard to pinpoint a moment in time when the idea of a renowned performing arts center was born, but arts lovers and community leaders have dreamed of such a venue since the 1980’s, one that would truly reflect the city that Orlando was destined to become.
Now, that vision is coming to fruition. The new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, located in the heart of downtown Orlando, represents a defining moment in Central Florida’s history.
An architectural marvel, the destination will include two performance theaters, a community theater, outdoor plaza and performance space, rehearsal rooms, banquet space, administrative offices, educational facilities and future commercial development.
