Crayola Experience

Preschool was closed today and staying in the house all day was NOT an option so I headed to the Crayola Experience with my two high energy boys, a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. I was very impressed with the variety of activities on their level. My older son really enjoyed bringing his coloring page (a dragon) to life and making the drip art. My younger son loved coloring the dog in the play yard. I think the experience was a bit overpriced, it would be nice if there was a FL resident rate. Overall the play areas were clean and well organized. They offer party rooms and that would be an indoor option I would consider for my boys super hot summer birthdays.

I think the Crayola Experience is great! I had fun even as an adult, I really enjoy making my own crayola wrapper! It’s great for kids of all ages and young at heart! There is a play ground as well, you can have a meal and spend the whole day! Admission tickets aren’t bad either.
My only reason I am not giving them a full 5 stars, is because I feel that they are new and need a lot of improvements with their interaction with guests. I also had my son’s 6^th birthday party there and I felt they could have been a little more involved and was a little unorganized with payment and admission.
Overall I was happy with the experience, I have been there twice now. It’s indoors so you don’t have to worry about the weather, and bathrooms were clean! :)

What a great place to spend a few hours with our son. He loves to color, make art and play in all the jungle gym type setups they have. There is a cool show about the history of Crayons as well. The place is always clean, the staff is friendly and there is plenty to do. I recommend the annual pass. You can’t beat the price!

Love this place!!! Perfect for kids and adults too! Came here this weekend with my 6 year old, my 4 year old nephew and 1 year old niece and they were never bored! It was a cold day in Orlando so having them indoors was perfect. They named their own crayons, and made their own artwork. The concept is brilliant! I was at the coloring station for at least 30 mins coloring my own picture, and when I looked around it was more adults than kids coloring… What a stress relief for us adults! Loved it and definitely will be coming back whenever we are in the Orlando area.

It is a wonderful experience for kids a beautiful place also a wonderful experience BUT having to pay as an adult to go in and babysit your kids I think something needs to be done about that part or the Price

I’ve been wanting to visit Crayola Experience since it opened. I’m glad we waited. We had a great time naming our own crayon, creating drop art and molding crayons. You even get to turn your drawing to life. Everything is unlimited and included in the price, except for the play-​doh and naming your crayon. You will be given 2 tokens each for that. Each is worth one token.
It is free for educators! Only teacher ID is needed. Be ready for tons of coloring fun!

My children’s ages are 5 and 2 so this experience was perfect for them, but perhaps it’s not as appropriate for the 10+ age groups. That said, both my husband and myself had a great time participating in the activities with them. For the price paid, we had over three solid hours of fun, we even left before we got to try everything, and will definitely be back. This experience is much better value than taking your kids to the movies.

Significantly less fun than I thought it would be. If you’re in Orlando for the theme parks and you’re stuck with a rainy day, it might be cool for the 6 & under set, but my best friend’s 8 & 13 year olds were bored. I was even a little bored & I’m into touristy things where I get to play and learn. The few cool things to do had very long lines, kept breaking down, and were very disorganized. I liked some of the information on the walls where I could learn a little about the history of Crayola, but I wouldn’t go here again.

Fantastic place to take your little ones. Mine cried when it was time to leave because we did not give ourselves enough time to do everything.
Price– good price for kids but to charge adults the same price when you literally are just following your child around is absurd. At least you get two coins for every paid admission that are used to make a customized crayon wrapper. So my 4 year old got 6 crayons!
The creative areas are unique. The play areas are fun for all young children. Anything that holds a preschoolers attention for 4+ hours is awesome.
They do have snack bar and a quick service restaurant at the over priced tags you would expect at an entertainment complex. The gift store was huge and had some really cool stuff.
Advice– go do the melted crayon stuff first because the lines keep growing! We didn’t get to do those and luckily my kids are too young to realize what the line was for.
Summary: if you have kids under the age of 8 then you need to go if in Orlando and allow yourself half a day!

A new attraction in Central Florida that isn’t Disney related and is much closer to home? This place is awesome. If you have kids and live in the area, or are visiting the area, you have to check this place out. The annual pass is only about $ 30/​person and they have all kinds of hands on activities for kids and adults. It’s not like this place just threw up some Crayola posters and called it a day. They went all out with the décor and it really makes you feel like you are inside a Crayola wonderland. There is actually so much to do that we didn’t get to see and do everything, but they have a history wall of Crayola that is pretty interesting. You can also see how crayons are made AND make some crayon designs yourself. There is even a station where you can make your own personalized crayon wrapper. There are different play areas for little kids and one for the bigger kids and concession areas. We didn’t try any of the food because we had just eaten at Buca Di Beppo next door before heading to Crayola. They have their own restaurant inside that I would love to try and probably will next time I am there. The technology is top notch and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My only con that I would have is that they need to manage their lines for the different attractions a little better. There were a lot of people cutting line or saving space in line for their entire extended family. Also, Summer is crazy crowded here. I’m thinking it may calm down once school starts back, but expect long wait times for a lot of the activities. As a new Crayola annual pass holder, I will be back very soon. Well done.

Took my 5 year old for his birthday. It’s a good play place to collect Crayola crayons and craft making. The admission is $ 19.99 a day, discount for military is $ 16.99. Annual pass is $ 29.99, so we decided to get that instead. We figured we won’t rush because they’d want to come back. When you enter, you’re given two tokens and then can take a souvenir photo.
You can name your own crayons, mold crayons, get free crayons and modeling dough. They have a puzzle maker once you color and design a special sheet. Also, you can turn your coloring page into an animation, take a selfish with it and email it to yourself. There are 2 play areas, one for big kids and one for smaller kids. There’s a small snack counter and candy counter if you get a little hungry. We bought the blue refillable souvenir cup for $ 7, with $ 1 refills.
This place is good for kids under 10, maybe even under 8. Bigger kids would get bored too fast.

This has the potential to be great but it was completely out of control! Children running wild, very unsafe soft-​play, pushing and shoving and employees standing watching.
There are some great activities and with more employee control, could be great!

The first thing you will notice when arriving is the neat looking outside of the building. The second thing you will notice is a significantly lighter wallet or heavier credit card statement.
Sorry, Crayola, but $ 20 per adult is steep. So is $ 17 per child over two years. There is really nothing for adults to do here and they are not going to get $ 20 of entertainment or colored wax worth. What they should honestly do is charge $ 5 per chaperone and then $ 20 per child.
With each ticket you get two tokens for certain activities for example 1 token = 1 crayon with personalized wording or 1 package of a 1 oz of molding putty. There are «hands on» activities that you do not need tokens for such as watching a crating melt into a formed shape. This «hands-​on» activity is more passive then riding an elevator.
Overall this place is neat but unimpressive. If you are a local you should buy an annual pass as this would be a good air conditioned play area for your child year around. I would recommend only bringing children 3 – 6 or your grandma with dementia that likes completing children’s crafts.
This is Orlando so people are going to fork over the money whether it sucks or not.

Large, clean, inexpensive (with $ 29.99 annual pass) attraction that’s very fun! (for my three year old).
We’re having a great time and I’m looking forward to taking my daughter back during these hot summer days. There is lots of helpful staff and it doesn’t feel crowded even though there’s lots of kids. We’ve been able to experience about everything in a couple hours.
A couple suggestions for improvement would be booster seats in the food area (currently only high chairs). It would also be nice if they sold coffee or energy drinks for that extra caffeine boost a parent needs in order to keep up!

Loved this new experience. The staff are helpful and welcoming. So many cool arts and crafts to choose from. They have mini shows on how crayons are made. Overall FUN! Get the annual pass for only $ 30!

Coloring time. Went with my daughter and nephew. Grand opening today. Don’t know what to expect. Great prices. Got the annual passes for $ 29 each. If your kids like coloring and creative things it’s not to bad for $ 29. And I love it because it’s indoor. There’s quite a bit of mini arts centers for the kids to do.

While I am not a kid, I am very much a kid at heart and checking out the Crayola Experience at the Florida Mall in Orlando really brought back some cherished childhood memories.
I can’t remember a time while growing up when I wasn’t coloring inside of — or close to — the lines of coloring books, using these wax implements to draw family portraits or just doing something artistic with the colors plucked from my cardboard box of 64 crayons.
Boy have those guys grown up. Melt two crayons and spin the soft wax into a design. Create a coloring page with you as one of the featured characters by posing before a selected background, capturing the image, printing it out and producing a custom coloring page. Or design a crayon label with whatever message, name or saying you write, wrap it around a crayon and take it away. Or just find a seat, pluck out your preferred colors and let the creative juices flow.
A few activities are more geared to the younger crowd, like the Color Playground where kids can climb and slide but, honestly, so much of what can be done here would delight «kids» of all ages.
This is a technological, whimsical, magical marvel of a concept that covers the history of these popular drawing instruments while igniting imaginations with new, creative and versatile ways to engage with crayons.
The second floor space encompasses 70,000 square feet where there was once a Nordstrom store. Now there is a playful, colorful area filled with lots of hands-​on ways to use crayons that go way beyond the coloring book.
Because you can move freely between the various stages/​stations, plan to allot a few hours for visits here. You may be tempted to try everything or stick or with few favorites and you want to be sure to have time to enjoy every minute. Because this is part of a shopping mall, there is plenty of free parking available. Park near Macy’s for the best proximity.
And because you may lose all track of time, but not lose your appetite, there is also a café where you can relax and refresh before going back for more fun with crayons.

We had two great days visiting the Crayola experience during their soft opening. Pricing is $ 19.99 for visitors 2+… Yes, even adults. Annual passes are $ 29.99. After a fun day, we upgraded to the annual passes and visited again the next day.
First, they did a spectacular job on hiring. The employees we encountered are some of the best. Very friendly, engaging and nice.
Our kids were 4, 7 and 9. They all loved it and couldn’t wait to visit again.
Favorite areas were the Drip Art, crayon mold and the playground.
We visited during the soft opening, so they’re still training and working out glitches. The only disappointments were the design technology things, as they weren’t scanning or sensing our kids. This is something we were told will be up to par soon.

What a fantastic place and very spacious! Yearly passes are pretty fairly priced $ 29.99 for everyone 2 and up, although it would be nice if young children had a better discount. The passes pay for itself if you go 2x’s or more and being a FL resident I figured that’ll happen.
We went before the big grand opening and all the staff is very friendly and engaging. There is a variety of children’s activities that should keep the younger ones entertained. My 3.5 year old loved her first time so much we stayed from 12pm to almost 5.
The kiddos can of course color, but it has so much more then that. There are markers, paint, chalk and model magic (like Play-​Doh) things kids can do/​make. They even have some kid friendly technology where kids can make their artwork come to life.
There are 2 play areas in case your kid wants a break from artsy stuff. My personal favorite was the giant Lite-​Brite.
I can’t comment on the food b/​c that part wasn’t opened yet but the cafeteria section is fairly big w/​a lot of seating. Mamas of young ones, they have a nursing room for us. Small w/​2 rockers and I gather a diaper changer will be installed, it just wasn’t yet but I saw the box there. The first visit I didn’t make it to the Crayola store but I’m sure that’s another experience in itself.

What a crazy store, it’s chock full of crayons. Even Burnt Sienna makes an appearance (sorry, crayon humor there)! I don’t even think you could count all the crayons here if you tried. This is a unique store based on Crayola Crayons and it features all the crayon colors you can possibly imagine, crayon accessories, toys, clothing, and other Crayola merchandise. There is a giant wall of crayons in the store, and it’s labeled as «Pick Your Pack», meaning you can make a custom box of just certain colors. I love all the crayon colors and their unique names like «Macaroni and Cheese», «Banana Mania», and «Wild Blue Yonder». Also you can see what year the color was created and named, some go back to 1903.
I was so enamored by the giant 2 lb crayons in the back of the store. They are around $ 25 each and you can have Crayola employees create a custom printed label with a name that you select on it. This would make a cool, yet odd, gift.
The guys in the store explained that the Crayola Experience is coming soon and it will be an interactive part of the store. The Experience is where you can pay to go through some activities like creating custom crayon colors, heating and molding. Parents have to be present to supervise the activities. Sounds fun. I liked the crayon smell in the store and it was very nostalgic checking out all the crayons.
