Bright House is just bad, service is terrible and the internet barely worked. Do not give them any business. Go with AT&T instead.

If I could give bright house the –15 review I would use people and the service is a complete waste. If somehow you can avoid service with bright house I highly recommend it. The Internet is constantly going out, my spouse who works from home pretty much doesn’t get paid when there is no Internet. It’s pricey and you do not get the service you pay for. I can’t wait to move so that I can get AT&T U-​verse. Or Verizon Fio’s. But bright house is a piece of crap to put it lightly. I do not recommend them and I never will. Their service agents are constantly at my house invading my privacy trying to fix their shitty Internet.

I was upset with bright house increasing prices, and the actual BH building is a bit sketchy, only two service windows, long line, etc. But, the customer service when you CALL is amazing. I tried CenturyLink (just about the only other thing available here) and the actual internet speed and quality is night and day. BH is far superior. BH’s Online Chat will not help you get as good a deal as phone customer service can. CALL them and you can get better promotions and deals. For the Orlando area, Bright House really is your best option.

This company is terrible, practically a monopoly here in Saint Petersburg, Fl. Not only do they charge $ 35 a month for 15 mbps (ONLY for the first 12 months, after it’s $ 55) but their service is terrible, since they are the only company to really offer internet in the area they take advantage of their customers. I lived in Miami Beach and I got 70 mbps for $ 40 a month! When I scheduled an installation I waited for 3 hours and no one showed up, so I had to reschedule. I let the installer know that I had my own modem and they almost made me pay an extra fee for using my own! I’m not done here, they also charge an extra fee to use it as Wifi rather than using their ethernet cable! We are in 2015, who really uses ethernet in a household? I am completely displeased with this company but as I said previously, they have a monopoly in the area hence they can do these sort of things to their hard working customers. Really disappointed. Can’t wait for a competition to come into town so that I can switch over from these crooks!

Worst service ever. even with the most expensive and «fastest» package, your service will go in and out and after 10 service calls to your residence over 12 months, they will still do nothing to fix it. They say its fixed (two new routers — did nothing to help) (new wiring — did nothing to help). Unable to watch netflix or hulu due to constant — buffering due to slow internet speed (even though I pay 130 a month for the fastest). Wifi always goes in and out. Now they say they are not sure what the problem is, but admit that the service in my area– Windermere, FL is not what it should be — But they offer NO discount to a service that does not work properly. Terrible customer service. Sadly Only company in my area that offers internet. Luckily, We are moving out of state to a city that offers multiple different companies for internet and cable.

Late last month or earlier this month (I can’t remember) my service was disconnected by mistake. There was a problem with my bank and couple of payments bounced (the problem was I was giving them my old bank info by mistake) As soon as I figured out what was happening I paid the bill with my credit card, several days later the service was disconnected. When I called to find out why the representative told me it was because of the returned check when I pointed out I already paid that on a credit card he apologized and turned the service back on. I should not be billed a disconnect and reconnect fee for this error. It was not my error I resolved my error before it became an issue.
A few days later I got a notice on my door that I owed $ 522 and change. I used the chat feature to talk with someone about what was going on. They were very clear and explained why the notice was left etc… and even took off the $ 20 fee. During that discussion I was told that my service was safe until the 17^th and I assured them I would make the payment by that time. Today the 13^th my service was disconnected again. Again I should not be billed a disconnect /​reconnect fee. The service was supposed to be on until the 17^th.
I work online and require internet access to get paid. I called and spoke with someone and they said nothing could be done until I paid 177.07 and that I had to pay in cash. I actually had to go and pawn things to get the bill paid. It literally took every dime I had. I had full intentions of paying this bill before the 17^th but needed to get a paycheck in the bank first. I am now completely broke and can’t even buy food. I want to know what brighthouse is going to do to make up for this error.
I am due to be refunded the disconnection and reconnection fees for the last two mistaken disconnections. In addition to that I was forced to pay $ 177.07 in cash I had to drive all the way across the county using up gas. I also missed about 4 – 5 hours of work today and counting because my phone is still not working. I work online and require internet and phone to do my job!

This company is the worse and if you can avoid using them I strongly suggest that you do. For their turbo Internet I will be paying $ 80 a month how ridiculous! That is just the Internet. The only reason Bright House networks is able to stay relevant is because they buy out certain properties to prevent other competitors from coming in. The moment my lease is up at my current apartment complex I will be moving especially so I do not have to use this horrible provider.

Another horrible review. The customer service people are maybe the best but their field service techs and service in general suck balls. Cable service provider for the last five months, five visits from techs who clearly have no idea or clue. Also finger pointing as to whose fault their terrible service is.
Techs blame the customer service reps for not reading emails. Techs blaming the boxes themselves (currently have Cisco boxes). CSR’s blaming the field service techs. Disgusting when they charge almost $ 200 a month for premium cable, Internet and phone service.
Ironically when I had Comcast, not one visit needed from the company and hardly any service interruptions.
If you can avoid using BrightHouse, do it.

Goodmorning! I am so please with my visit here, at first after I read the reviews, I was a bit skepticism. I just gave it a go anyways for my own personal experience and to share my thoughts on the place.
The lady that had helped me greeted me with a smile, which I greatly returned! if you come in with the right attitude, they will be more than happy to assist you! She went above and beyond to help me, with signing up for wifi and answered my questions very efficiently.

It’s true. They are the worst. The poor customer service people are nice, but they don’t have a clue.
Been on phone with them 7x totaling 4 hours of my time over past week to get a simple phone number ported from
CenturyLink to them. They blamed CenturyLink even though I confirmed that with century link it was Brighthouse that was delaying it.
As as local business owner and member of the local Orlando Chamber of Commerce I am in complete shock at how terrible their service is on this recent work order. So bad, I got disconnected after waiting to speak to supervisor. They never called me back even thought they had my number.
They buy those customer service awards because they get.

15 minutes on average hold for any phone call interaction with a live person.
they don’t have enough customer service representatives. they are overworked, underpaid and they are the best people when you talk to them.
the bright house business model ignores customer satisfaction and focuses on employee performance surveys.

Now you have to either pay for more cable boxes or buy adapters just to watch service you are already paying for. I returned from extended trip to find my direct connected TVs not working. I called and was told… how did you not know, it was on TV and we sent you something. When you automatically pay your bills, you don’t read the bill when it comes. You look at your bank statement. And when you are watching TV, you may not be tuned to the channel whete the announcement is made. Overall a complete lack of customer service.

Casting our vote for the worst customer service of any company in central Florida. Period

If I could give me zero stars I would. Phone reps are nice great but to get to them you have to wait about 20 min. I have had so many issues trying to get my devices moved. First put the order online never got a call finally called in myself no record of me requesting move online so save yourself time and don’t bother.
Then on install date they went to the old house not the new house and after two calls and more days waiting another phone person tells me the order was submitted incorrectly not as a transfer. Install comes Internet is fine but tech tells me I cannot choose my network name or password which I know is a lie because previously I had named it and selected my own password for the lightning internet. I decided not to argue with him but now have to keep a piece of paper to know both of them.
Next issue is day later the TV cable is not working after calling and spending an hour on phone resetting digital box they decide we need a new box. To speed time and not to wait another two days we go to brighthouse ourselves and get a new Digital box which surprise is same issue — more phone calls to brighthouse resetting he box still not working so two techs later still no cable tv. One tech arrived at 7:30 appt window was 4 – 6 however brighthouse did call to tell us they were late. Next appt was 2 – 4 no show so call until 7:55 pm so then had to spend another 30 min on phone to get a stand by appt which means they can come literally at any time.
Long story short if you can get it hooked up correctly then you may be ok but if you have any issues good luck. I’m still waiting…
They promote a customer service appointment guarantee which as far as i can tell that guarantee doesn’t mean a darn thing. The poor phone reps can tell you sorry but that is about all.
Unfortunate there is no competition unless you want a dish hanging off your house you are at their mercy and I think they know that.

I have brighthouse for INTERNET ONLY service that started at $ 19.95. Now we are paying $ 54 for the same service. When we called to complain, customer service said the $ 19.94 rate is for NEW customers only. So that means, your NEW customers are more valuable to you than the old loyal customers.
DIRECT TV uses the same methods to acquire their customers EXCEPT they are willing to give back some of the money they make from its loyal customers to RETAIN their loyal customers. Brighthouse — WHAT are you willing to do to KEEP your customers???
AT & T is looking to buy DIRECT TV, what will that do to your business model?

Stephanie’s review just does not compute. Perhaps she works for BH — either directly or indirectly. My issues with BH have nothing to do with their service agents. Yes, they are nice when you call their center. However my issues with BH have more do with the quality of the product, their level of service and value for my hard-​earned money.
Bright House fails in so many ways. But then they don’t really have to try very hard do they when consumers have so little choice with service providers. In my particular piece of paradise in Orlando my only Internet options are Bright House or Centurylink. For cable TV, since «free TV» does not work in this metro area either, our options are satellite or Bright House.
AT&T & Comcast are not available because the telephone & cable companies have carved our little world up into corporate fiefdoms. I even called the FCC to validate this. Cable & Internet providers have pre-​arranged agreements whereby they will only service certain blocks. The only cowboy in the mix is satellite dish for TV but then you are locked into a 2 year contract + equipment fees.
Bottom line folks they can call you «friend» all they like. At the end of the day consumers lack choice & freedom when it comes to selecting their providers. They are all quasi-​monopolies, which entitles them to charge you outrageous prices for sub-​par service, nickle & dime you with service chargesr and provide you with sub-​par service for your trouble.
I would like to live in a world where I could select from all providers and go with the one who provides me good value for my money. I’ll pay for quality but I won’t pay a kings ransom or get locked into a blood-​signed contract because I am forced to choose between which evil is less painful. Perhaps if there was more competition in the true tradition of business enterprise, these companies would clean up their act or new and potentially better service providers would rise above the sea of discontent.

Customer service is in dire need of an overhaul. I got different answers every time I called. In the end, it takes them 2 days to get anything done. I’m going to look for other providers. I’m also SO ready for google tv and internet!

I wish I had read some of these reviews, it would have saved me a lot of headaches!!! Do not waste your time and money on Bright House! Seriously, their customer service is horrible! I don’t think they even know what they’re doing! We’re getting charged for an extra outlet that we DID NOT order, nor did they tell us that there will be a charge! We’re also paying for a «high speed internet», but we’re getting half of it. I wish we had a better company to switch to. Sadly, we need internet and a phone line, otherwise I would do without this worthless company.

BHN cannot be any better than other providers as far as customer service goes. They make sure the Tech arrives «on time» according to their statements but it took 3 phone calls for a Tech to finally arrive. Look, don’t call me to tell me the Tech should be there by so and so and he shows up 4 hours after his original appointed time.
Oct 4^th 2013: Tech comes and replaces my current internet modem with a Ubee and gives me a Samsung Cable box for my recent upgrade.
Oct 23^rd 2013: After a few weeks, I am dissatisfied with the billing. These fools want to charge me $ 169.66 for Digital TV (One Box) and Internet upgrade from 10mpbs (standard) to 30mpbs (roadrunner turbo). I spend 1.5 hrs on the phone disputing the bill and all the Rep keep does is placing me on hold any time I have a question about billing. Not to mention the number of times he contradicted himself about getting credit for this and that. On top of that, they want to lock in a «pending/​queued’ charge on my card for $ 169.66 (it should have been $ 118 after all credits applied) and they end up telling me that it will be applied in the next billing.
My thoughts are, what If I am not happy with the service and disconnected before next billing. Regardless, their word is I’m getting to get charged $ 169.66 because auto pay customers can’t release the pending payment (this is 3 business days before the actual due date).
I decided to cancel the service immediately after the first call to straighten out the billing amount for my October bill. It is a mess and CS can’t get their stories straight. I as a consumer don’t have time to baby sit employee from another company to make sure the customer is getting charged the correct amount let alone make sure any ‘credit’ promised or stated to a customer is actually applied to his account for the current billing period. The 2^nd lasted almost 1.5 hrs just to cancel service.
I have no complaints about the Cable service itself but rather the messy Customer Service they have provided.
I’ll look for TV service elsewhere.
Update ¹⁰⁄₂₄: came and picked up the equipment. They forgot the cable modem and cables. Wtf! That means to me more excuses for charges and holds on my account! Now I got to try 20 – 30 mins to return equipment. Fn pain

Brighthouse sucks. If there is a good alternative, let me know. Because AT&T sucks, too. We’ve had Brighthouse for nearly 5 years for phone, tv, and internet. Their speeds are not what you pay for and are worse during peak hours. They upgrade their equipment and don’t bother to let you know that you need a new cable box until you call them when you can’t get half your channels. Their customer service is all over the place. Today they were supposed to come between 2 – 4, which they reminded me of TWICE, but it is 7pm and they haven’t come. Not only that, but when I called for the second time to find out where the tech was, they said he had come but no one was home. Then the service rep put me on hold to check something AND NEVER CAME BACK ON THE LINE.
Really, find someone else if you can. And then let me know who it is.
