This is a really cute area with a lot to offer. There are lots of fun and yummy places to grab a bite or drink(Juice Bar, sushi Place, Avalon Perks, Starbucks, Avalon pockets and even health services. There’s a YMCA, a vet and lots of areas for you to walk, geocache and chill. Also, they often have events for the while family.

This park is beautiful. Nice place to go and relax, ride a bike, feed the swans, have a peaceful lunch. We were in town and our family recommended it. I will definitely come back.

Wow, what a nice area! Spent lots of time in the Orlando area and Central Florida overall as a kid. My grandmother had a house in Orlando, so did one of my uncles and a couple of my cousins. At one point I had people in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Deltona and Palm Bay. Basically all up and down the I-4 Corridor, LOL. Every summer from age 4 until about age 15 I was on a plane headed to MCO within a few days after the last day of school. And in between, I’d usually be down for Easter break or the mid winter recess we get up here in NY. And then after about 1996 I got there sporadically until 2001. As time passed and people passed on I spent less and less time in Orlando. With the exception of a couple of cousins the bulk of my family that was down there either passed away or returned home to New York. New Yorkers almost always come home eventually. But I still have fond memories of the Orlando area and Central Florida overall. I always remark to people that I watched them build a lot of the neighborhoods and attractions that everyone knows and loves and flocks to now. I remember almost every ride home from the airport saying«wow, every time I come back there’s like a whole new neighborhood!» Metro West, the Orange County Courthouse, MGM Studios, Universal Studios, I saw all of that and more get built. Actually I remember going to Universal the week it opened in 1990 and hardly anything was working right. IOUs and rain checks galore. Anyway, I made it back down there in July for the first time in about 14 years. My cousin recently moved over this way after almost 30 years in Pine Hills, and he was throwing a big party for his wife, so we got a chance to check it out. The Avalon Park development covers nearly 1700 acres on the east side of the city. I must say it’s really nice. This is an example of New Urbanism, similar to the older community of Celebration. The goal is to have an aesthetically pleasing, largely self contained walkable community. Avalon Park definitely checks all the boxes. The community is very nice, lots of green space, a really cool walkable«downtown» with a lot of really nice stores and good restaurants, and it’s just an overall very nice, friendly place. Its also a fairly convenient location, especially if you have dealings at UCF or you’re heading to the airport. There’s a lot of construction going on as they’re doing a lot of work to S.R. 50(East Colonial Drive) so rush hour traffic can get pretty bad, but just take the time to learn some of the back roads and your fine. I remember a time when there wasn’t much of anything this far east of the city, so this is really cool to see. I don’t get down to Orlando as much as I used to, I’ve mostly been hanging out in Miami for the last 15 years. Actually I don’t get to MIA as much as I used to either, LOL. But next time I’m in the city I’ll make it a point to really hang out over here!

What can I say. One of the reasons why I bought my home here nearly a decade ago was that this community impressed me so much. I was looking to move to Stonybrooke, but my realtor kept showing me Avalon on the side. Over a period of months, it grew on me. Besides nice homes and subdivisons, Avalon is a self sufficient community. Really a small city within a city. Avalon Park has every store you may need, every service you need from AC, massage, nails, dog grooming, and yoga to tennis lessons. It has so many free amenities for the residents such as free tennis courts in multiple locations, great pools, parks for children, and a super cool water fountain splash zone area for kids from dawn to dusk. I take kids here all the time they love it. All free. I even love little thing they have such as the book loan where a little miniature house that has books in it that people donate and you can take one and bring one. So many festivals and family events take place every weekend. Food trucks to fireworks to kids rides and more. There’s no place better in orlando to raise a family

I love this little park. They always have some great events like the Jazz event yesterday. The park is well kept and the day after an event you won’t find litter strewn about. That is the way to maintain a park for the public. We wanted to go hang out at Mulberry but heard the music and walked over to see what was going on. Maybe if I would look at the events calendars, I would know about these events instead of finding out by accident… lol If you are looking for a park to let the kids play, walk the dog or just toss out a blanket and soak up the sun and scenery, it is a nice little oasis in Avalon…

Visited for Avalon Glow. Great event with a parade and showcasing vendors downtown as well as the great local Avalon Park businesses! Parked at the Elementary school as to not affect the local neighborhoods. Beautiful location and will go out of my way to support the local businesses. Hidden gem of Orlando.

Love my community. Renting for now, but plan on buying in Avalon Park. Great place to raise a family. Plenty to do, good places to eat, never have to go far to get what you need. Hope to live here the rest of my life. Did I mention that I love this place?

I love this area! Downtown Avalon Park is very quaint with a slight European feel. My only complaint is that it is not within walking distance for me… Oh, how I wish it were! It is very clean and full of neat little restaurants and shops. I like just coming down here to walk around. When the weather is cooperating, it is a nice place to enjoy an outdoor snack/meal, a picturesque view of the pond or hang out in Founder’s Square or Town Park.

«I love this community, from the seclusion to the boutique buildings and shops. Whats not to like about Avalon Park, is located at a very secluded area of East Orlando @ the end of Alafaya Trail. Its compared a lot to the famous and prestigious are of Celebration all the way in the other side, the west side that is. But all in all is the same concept with the expensive walk up homes. You can also compare it to what is Baldwin Park in the Colonial Winter Park area. Have many friends that live here and well you know me always visiting to hang. I love the 7 Eleven they have here is so amazingly clean and good. Definitely a place to live if you’re considering moving to central Fla.

For O-towners who want the charm of smalltown America with the convenience of a city like Orlando, this is a cute little community in the east side of Orlando. They have their own little community park decorated with a Christmas Tree and with plenty of roving room to run around in with the kids or pets and a little stage for events. There are plenty of walkable areas with little shops. We stopped by the Starbucks before I headed back home. My friend’s neighborhood features homes with the driveways at the back of the house, further supporting that old-town charm.
