Armorglow Wood Floor Refinishing-Installation

I was doing some renovations on a house I was trying to sell. My experience with contractors to this point had been more miss than hit. I had just parted ways with a contractor who was over budget– over schedule– and somehow this was my fault. I was beginning to stress because what started out as a 2 week project was now in its 4^th week and I desperately needed to get back on the market. I called ArmorGlow Wood Flooring and asked Shelby to provide a quote for refinishing my floors. He explained in detail the process– how long it would take– and what it would cost. The process– in my particular case– would take 7 days. I asked if there was a way to shave some time off. Shelby patiently explained that every part of the process was important and that as a craftsman he would not be able to shave off anytime. Wow… the previous contractor would say anything to start the job and failed to deliver… here is Shelby being honest, straightforward and transparent. Am I missing something? Shelby started work and he would call me to update me on the progress every other day. We got close to the end and they had applied the 2^nd coat of poly urethane — I happened by the house. I called Shelby and asked if we could stop at two coats. The floors looked great. I really needed to get the house on the market and since we were living in the house we really needed to be able get back in the house and resume our lives… plus we were selling the house and at this point I really really wanted it to be done. I would describe myself as near frantic. Shelby empathized with me and looking back– I think this is what separates Shelby from others– empathy. He listened to me and understood where I was coming from… but he didn’t agree with me. Which is fine and encouraged. Shelby said, «Jake– I would love to charge you for 3 coats and only give you 2– it benefits me– but I can’t because that 3^rd coat…» he went on to restate what he had told me all along. As a craftsman– the entire process needed to be completed and he in good conscience could not deliver a sub standard product. Fair enough. After the 3^rd coat… I was blown away. Of all the updates in my house– it’s the floors that get the most compliments. I can’t thank Shelby enough. He is the quintessential small business owner… a partner and an honest person. He didn’t always say what I wanted to hear but he guided me through this process with empathy and professionalism. Guess who I am going to call when I need some floor work done… guess who I am going to call for a contractor recommendation… Guess who I am going to call when I need an honest opinion???

Shelby and his team installed hardwood floors in our master bedroom (previously was carpet). Shelby was easy to get in touch with, on time, and extremely pleasant to work with. He was also very flexible with the time frame and squeezed us in as soon as possible. Highly recommend Armorglow!

Wood floors sanded and refinished in old 1950s home near Delaney Park. Armorglow was referred to me by a neighbor. The reason why i went with Armorglow is because when given an estimate, the installer explained why and how they would refinish the floors step by step. I thought, if this guy is willing to take the time to tell me how he is going to do the job, he will definitely do the job right. In short, my floors are not even and are wavy. The team from Armorglow was able to sand the floors evenly and preserve the original floor. Thanks to Armorglow, as soon as people walk into our home, they immediately say,“wow, nice floors.”

home in the downtown Orlando area. We were told that the urine stains were so bad that refinishing would be a waste of time. A friend referred us to Armorglow. Shelby (the owner), accessed the wood floors and explained a procedure used in Europe that would yield the best results on our ugly, stained wood floors. I must admit, I had doubts how good the floors would come out. When Armorglow completed the job, the results actually exceeded our expectations. Shelby, Turk and Gary were very thorough, patient, polite and highly skilled craftsmen.

Shelby and his staff did a full install on 2,200 square feet at my previous Clermont house. They did a great job. The install took exactly how long he said it would take. The flooring looked killer, I picked a dark color with light walls. Working with professionals in the business made the whole process seem much easier. I installed floors in my first house once and vowed afterwards I would never do it again. Shelby has been doing this for 30 years and I was happy to pass the baton to him for this job and any further opportunities in the future.

Nine years ago, when we had our home built, Armorglow installed and finished all the wood floors. We were extremely happy with results. A few weeks ago a drain pipe started leaking in the hall bathroom and damaged our beautiful wood floor in a few rooms. We contacted Armorglow. Shelby, the owner, walked us through the insurance claim procedure. After the claim was approved, Armorglow replaced and refinished the water damaged areas so that the damaged areas matched really well. Armorglow’s work actually exceeded our expectations. These guys really know wood floors.

Over the years Armorglow Wood Flooring has completed many projects to our older home. Shelby, the owner, always explains the details involved in a way that is simple to understand. Armorglow employees are always on time, patient, and are very precise craftsmen. These days it is very refreshing to find a wood flooring company that performs so well.
