If you are traveling anywhere near this wonderful bakery, it will be well worth your time to stop in for some goodies. First, all items are prepared daily from the freshest of ingredients, on the premises. When you open the screen door to enter the small, inviting bakery, the smell will confirm this fact. Memories of childhood mornings in your grandmas kitchen will fill your mind. The second notable feature is the visions of baked gems arranged neatly on the shelves of the glass case and in baskets placed carefully around the room. Beautiful large and small pies. Peanut Butter cookies. Sugar cake donuts. Blueberry muffins made with local wild blueberries. And lemon poppyseed scones, to name a few. And the bread. Oh the bread. So many flavor of bread to choose from. Everyone in our party of four chose two treats. Everyone raves about the taste and freshness as we headed down the highway to Camden. Five plus stars, hands down. Finally, the service was warm and friendly, just what you would expect from a local bakery. Though we live in MI, we will be returning if we are anywhere near this shop.

I always make a point of stopping here when on vacation. Fresh breads, scones, cookies and pies. Donuts, sweets of all kinds, and they change daily. It is right off rt. 3, on side street across from the hatchery road. Look for the sign, you won’t be disappointed.

Breadbox is always part of our annual Maine vacation. We make daily visits for their hand cut donuts. They are all good, but the pumpkin and maple-ginger are our faves. We love the pies, particularly how they are not too sweet. You can really taste the local berries. Cinnamon swirl bread, blueberries muffins, I could go on and on! Note that they are open Wednesday thru Saturday, 9 – 3 and only take cash.

Wow just… wow. I walked in and all the breads cookies and pies took my breath away. 5 types of bread including an excellent sourdough, tomato olive, and cinnamon twist bread. The latter was so delicious as French toast. We bought all three breads. The pies were wow looking. Going back today. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Outstanding home bakery, less than two minutes from Route One, via Back Ridge Road. Large selection of fresh-baked breads and pastries, attractively displayed. A family business, run by two sisters. The sister who waited on us was very helpful. We bought a sourdough boule, a raspberry tart, crackers, and focaccia. Every one of them was first-rate. We’ll be returning often. Best new bakery we’ve found in five years.

My family and I have been vacationing in Maine every other year for the past 10 years. We discovered the«Pie Lady» Perkins Pies on our first trip, and low and behold we come to find out that she retired last year. :(. So we needed to find a new pie place and Breadbox Bakery is it! Not only does this place do pies right, I even dare to say that the homemade breads and cookies and scones are even better than the pies! After returning with a couple of fresh out of the oven pies and several cookies, my parents wanted to see the place for themselves. So, a return trip was made! This time around they had an apple crumb pie ready so I got that and some baguettes. Everything was so good it wasted my workout from CrossFit Acadia(see my review.) Hours right now are 9AM — 1PM, Thursday to Saturday. Thank God, so I don’t have to come every day of the week for some great pies and breads and cookies and gain weight. I’ll be back!

Stopped here midmorning on a Wednesday traveling to Bar Harbor. The baked goods were all unbelievable… best scones we have ever tasted. If she would have been open on Monday on the way back to the airport, would have stopped again.

This out of the way bakery is worth the drive. The pastries were some of the best I have ever tasted. The place is charming and the two sisters that own the place are delightful. They specialize in artisan breads, pies, cookies, and dips. You will love it!
