Nagle’s is awesome! Been taking my cars to Dan since we moved to O.P. In 1992. Honest, will error on the side of keeping cash in your pocket and catches everything that needs to be done prior to it being a problem.

My family has been going to Nagel’s for over 30 years and we cannot recommend them more highly. Dan is HONEST and truly a good guy. He will fit you in when he can when something is urgent and is always very fair with his pricing. Having a good honest mechanic is a real find and we certainly have that with Dan.

In my 47 years, I have NEVER had a worse auto repair experience in my life! When I first got to the shop I thought Dan said that he had to take a test drive on another car. So I said «Okay» and went to sit in the waiting room. But apparently, he said he was ready to take my car and seemed annoyed that he had to follow me into the waiting room. Then he wouldn’t tell me what was wrong with my car except to say «Too much was wrong» and that he didn’t want to fix it.
I only stopped at this shop because I was 45 minutes from my home and I was afraid that the car wouldn’t be safe to drive to my mechanic. And when I said to him «Are you really going to let me drive to Darien without doing anything?» He said yes and walked away,
So my suggestion to you is, don’t let your daughter, wife, mother, sister, or ANYONE you care about take their car here. Don’t bring a car that is older then 5 years or that might have a large problem with it to this shop. Because if you do, there is a chance, that he will send them/​you out on the street to risk their/​your life with a car that might be unsafe because he doesn’t want to deal with it. Isn’t dealing with cars that need repair what he is supposed to do?
Shame on you Dan!!! I hope no one ever treats someone you care about with the same calloused disdain as you treated me. BTW, after a few stalls on the side of the road, I made it home alive (obviously). No thanks to Nagel’s Auto.

These days, it’s not easy to find an auto repair shop that you can say you truly trust. Dan Nagel’s Auto Service is one of those shops. I have teen drivers and 3 less than new cars in the family so Dan gets alot of my business. He will not do unnecessary repairs and takes the approach to do the easy fix first. I will always take my cars to Dan’s shop before going anywhere else. And if I did go somewhere else, it would probably be at his recommendation.

I’ve been going to Dan Nagel since my first car. He is fair on price and gives advice based on what is best for your car/​wallet. I’d recommend Dan to anyone.

As a newbie to town I was very stressed out when I discovered my car making a retched noise when I turned the wheel. This meant I needed to find a mechanic in town, and fast. A coworker recommended Nagel’s to me and I couldn’t be happier.
I called in and told Nagel’s about my situation and Dan was more than happy to look at my car. I was able to catch a ride from my coworker and dropped my car off at 8:30. By 1 he had called me back with info on the car. He went ahead and did the cheap repairs, but wanted to get my okay on the more expensive stuff. I don’t know a lot about cars so he walked me through step by step on what was wrong and how to keep my car in excellent condition (i.e. what is the best gas to use and why).
I told them I would like it if the car was done by the end of the day because it was my only mode of transportation. They assured me that they would have it done by 5 when I arrived. And they did.
The customer service was excellent and I never once felt stupid, which some mechanics make me feel. Dan thanked me multiple times for choosing his place of business to take my car and I found that very nice.
One thing to take note of is that Nagel’s doesn’t have loaner cars (but really only large dealerships do). Also, the lot is a bit small so be prepared to be able to back into spots or make a 3 point turn to get out of the place.
