H&R Block

If you decide to use this facility, do not use Fran as your tax preparer. She kept us waiting for a 9 am appointment for ten minutes as she puttered around the office. She had a great deal difficulty entering information correctly despite asking us to repeat things several time or having a visual to copy from. Additionally, she spent more time talking about the H&R block $ 1000 give away than she did consulting with us about our taxes. The icing on the cake was when we got home to a phone call stating that the IRS rejected our taxes because she had entered my daughter’s social security incorrectly on top of all the other mistakes she made. Finally, I do not recommend H & R Block for tax preparation because the fees are astronomical. We paid $ 347 for unprofessional service that took her approximately 45 minutes to complete. VERY overpriced.

They WERE great. This year I called to find out the preparer we used for 7 years, Bill, is unfortunately no longer there. Disappointed, I agreed to set an appointment with someone else. Then, whomever answered the phone said an I needed mom’s social security number to set an appointment. «Couldn’t you look up her name?»
I was told HAUGHTILY that is normal to ask for this information to look up a client.
The social security number is necessary (!) to set an appointment. So I guess they couldn’t help me. Oh darn! Who needs this attitude? I just wish I knew where my tax preparer is working now.
