Worst car buying experience ever, salesman either doesn’t know anything about what he’s selling or lied to make a sale, after discovering that the vehicle didn’t have specific equipment that was discussed with the salesman (when I tried to get satellite radio switched over from my trade in) I was basically forced to purchase a more expensive car, if the salesman would have been truthful, I probably would have gone somewhere else and he knew that, I wouldn’t recommend this dealership to anyone, if you do go there you had better be extra careful, THEY GOT ME!!!

Straight forward, no pressure negotiations. Nice staff. Competitive pricing. Bought a Mazda 3 on Memorial Day weekend so salesperson was juggling serveral customers but was very attentive nonetheless. Worked with Dan. I would watch for extra dealer fees with finance tho. Was surprised by «theft deterrent» fee. Fiancé guy found errors in sales tax and plate fees too, but was quick to adjust it.

Horrible, inept customer service. Doesn’t stand by their warranty, doesn’t follow up with phone calls or customer complaints. Not worth your time. Forget CJ Wilson — go elsewhere. They care more about getting their money than servicing the vehicle or standing by their word. Free advice — if they say they will do something get it in writing because they will not stand by just their word. Very disappointed. Their back & forth and not standing by their word is costing me over $ 400.
Update: Bryan R. immediately responded asking how they disappointed me & how they can help but then re-​wrote the review below to cover up their lies & inaccuracies. George from service, Adrian (Service Manager in Orland Park) along with Ann from MazdaUSA were unresponsive and took over 2 weeks for a returned phone call and answer on this matter. I plan to return the car to the dealer in hopes to sell back and buy something other than a Mazda.

First, an important note. I’m an out of state buyer who drove 300 miles to CJ Wilson Mazda of Orland Park to buy my vehicle. There were not many 2016 grey CX-​5 Touring vehicles with the packages I wanted at a fair price at my local dealers so I decided to expand my search radius. That’s when I found exactly what I was looking for in stock at CJ Wilson Mazda.
I asked for an e-​quote and Sandy Tydd replied with their best price almost immediately. I was hoping to get yet a better price but the initial offer turned out to be the final offer (still very competitive). She originally promised a discount financing option to go with the price she quote but after speaking with the Finance Manager she had to retract the low financing offer (via Mazda Capital i.e. Chase). I still decided that I do not want to spend any more time negotiating with this or other dealers and went to the Chicagoland to pick up my new car.
Dan Stelmach met me and family and showed around. He then proceeded with a fairly comprehensive overview of all CX-5’s features and we went on an extensive test drive. Dan’s knowledge of the vehicle and his positive attitude and respect to address the customer questions and concerns was very much appreciated. I believe he has an enormous potential and a bright future ahead of him in automotive sales.
After the test drive I was ready to sign the papers and that’s where I met Nick Hubbs the Finance Manager (he is listed under Sales here for some reason, perhaps he switched jobs recently). My experience with CJ Wilson Mazda of Orland Park dealership started deteriorating quickly as I started speaking with Nick and going through the paperwork. These may have been small things but I felt like being in a game «find all the differences» between what was agreed to via email and what was in the paperwork. A small increase in the promised APR, a small but unnecessary (did not ask for) fee here and there, and triple the cost of title and license documentation Vs. what it cost me at other dealerships or my home State was charging. Now, I did not complain much at that time being tired from the drive (and expecting the drive back home) and Nick Hubbs promising the refund for TTL if they overcharged me. The part that disappointed me even more speaking with Nick was his attitude of indifference or care for the customer.
If this was the end of it I would have rated this dealership 3 stars as a minimum possibly 4 out of 5. However it has been now 32 days since I purchased my CX-​5 at CJ Wilson Mazda of Orland Park and was issued a temporary license plate, and it will my a second day I will have to drive illegally because Nick Hubbs did not start my paperwork until 3 or more weeks after the purchase. It was not until a week ago that he asked me for a missing copy of my insurance card (he did not even bother reaching out to me directly, he asked someone else to do it) which I emailed him immediately. Nick Hubbs did not care to provide another temporary tag to me either, to ensure I’m not driving in my state illegally. I don’t know when they will finish the paperwork for my title and license/​registration but now I’m having to drive in fear of being stopped and fined.
This dealership has a lot of potential to really differentiate itself from many others, and there are many honest and hard working employees at CJ Wilson Mazda of Orland Park. I am not sure however that they can move forward having employees such as Nick Hubbs who do not care about customer satisfaction or feedback. Even though I did not get a chance to work with «Kris» directly, I do have a strong concern that his leadership is lacking and he is not being proactive in dealing with dissatisfied customers or ineffective employees.
At this point, I’m not sure what step to take — reach out to the owner whose name is on the dealership buildings and the website and share my concerns about management oversight at Mazda of Orland Park, or contact the Illinois DMV about a possible violation by the dealership.
In summary, be careful with this dealership and see if you can ask someone other than Nick Hubbs to do your paperwork during and after sale.

Worst experience buying a car there when they first opened. now I’m trying to apply for my gap coverage reimbursement and still can’t get any customer service. I would not recommend this dealer or ever go back!

My experience was the same as Chris L’s and Stella R’s, though I never went in. Couldn’t get the $ details beyond «price» in writing; couldn’t get «out the door» price to make sense from the itemization given me by phone. I may or may not have paid more elsewhere, but at least I feel less cheated.

Just bought a used 2010 Mazada 3. Great sales people and an overall good experience.

I’ve bought a new vehicle today and Moe was absolutely amazing to work with. He was attentive, friendly and very easy to get along with. From the minute I walked in the door I felt like he listened to what I needed and took me to a vehicle that met my expectations. I’ve bought several cars before and I absolutely hate being shown something that I fall in love with but ends up being beyond my price range. Moe made sure that he showed me something that was both in my price range and something I needed. Instead of being here for hours doing the back and forth– he listened to my needs and made it happen. I walked in and was greeted with a smile. My sales person was Krystal smith she was awesome sauce! I told her I was looking at the Mazda 3 and cx5 she showed me both cars in detail, went thru the different trims of both vehicles. I settled on the Mazda 3 2014 she walked me thru the car and set up my Bluetooth, put my tags on and everything! I needed up having to pay more for the note but if something goes wrong with the car it would be covered. I highly recommend them — see Krystal!!!

Alex Torres was very friendly and gave us a great deal. They didn’t have the color we wanted on the lot so they delivered one from another lot. We absolutely love our new Mazda CX-​5 GT.

I just closed on a Certified Used Mazda 3 and the experience was legendary. Sandy, my sales rep, was able to hold the car for a day, let me test drive the car twice, and gave me a great deal with my trade in.
She is one of the most friendly, knowledgeable, and fun people to shop for cars with. Not only that, but at the end of the day, I got to go home with a shiny new to me Mazda that is everything I could ask for in a car of this class.

I am very honored to be reviewing here. I came in looking for my first car. I had a budget that really was specific. I was looking at Dodge Darts, Mini Coopers, and CarMax. There was a 2007 Saturn Sky I seen on the site. I came in and took it for a drive. Chet and Chris took care of us and both were very helpful. My family agreed that this was an awesome car and we would come back Monday. We came back but noticed 2 blue cars in the lot. A Mazda 3, and a Mazda 3 Sport. They were both used. We were greeted then by Chet. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable. Again, this was my first car so I wanted to know everything about the car. I took both cars out for a test drive. The car that I was in love with was the Mazda 3 Sport. I actually didn’t want to buy the car because it was a big step to purchasing a vehicle. Chet had us sit down and printed out information about the cars on the site. I went home and thought about it. I didn’t know what to do. That evening we came to the dealer again. We were informed that the Saturn Sky sold. However the Mazda 3 Sport was still there. I knew it was meant to be. We did work with Chet and let me say, this was a great salesman. There were no words to describe him. He was very informative, very knowledgeable, and very nice. We went in to buy the car. Chet went over all the paperwork with us. I am so happy that Chet worked with us. He is probably the best salesman I have ever met. We then went into a small office. We did the payments. And we got the car. From the beginning, Chet was an incredible salesperson. Right when we would walk in the doors, Chet always would greet us, talk to us, and come with on a test drive. I would like to personally thank Chet for a very positive, and great first experience. He is a salesman that takes so much pride in his job, and is always looking to help. Chet is an amazing guy that knows the cars, and will help you get the car you want. He knew that I was a picky person, so he told me what I would like about the car. He wasn’t somebody that was just going to lecture about the cars. He was to the point, and told us everything we needed to know. I went to CJ Wilson to purchase my first car, a 2016 CX-​5, based on a previous customer’s review and recommendation. I was able to find the car I wanted online and emailed asking about the details and availability. I had to put a deposit down for them to bring the car to the location, which I wasn’t crazy about, but my overall experience made it worth it. My salesperson Krystal Smith was friendly, easy to communicate with, and by contacting her in advance, the process went a lot quicker. She, along with the finance guy, was patient with my first-​time buyer questions, and did apply the discounts that I qualified for. Overall, I would say this turned out to be a positive experience with a friendly staff. I also love my new car! Great look and features for the price.

You know the tricks and deceptive practices car dealerships are infamous for? Overpriced, unnecessary VIN etching; omitting destination fee from their quotes; a price that factors in rebates that might not apply? Expect to see all of that at CJ Wilson Mazda. I came in because they offered me a killer price. Every step closer I got to signing the papers, the more the price changed.
(I see in some responses below that they claim not to apply rebates the buyer doesn’t qualify for. In my case, that simply wasn’t true. I told the sales associate repeatedly that I’d be paying cash, and the resulting price assumed dealer financing. That’s sloppy at best and blatantly dishonest at worst.)
The crazy thing is that, in the end, they still had a better price than anyone else I’d talked to — that’s why it’s two stars instead of one, and why I ended up buying anyway. But if they’d just been up front about the REAL price of the car, I’d have driven away happy and would be writing a positive review right now. Instead, I’m whining on Unilocal and wondering if I should have walked away, just on principle, instead of giving them the deal and encouraging further dishonesty in the future.

One of my least favorite things in life is buying a car. Usually there is a lot of double talk — reach a price — then the «manager» has to approve this and that — the hours go by. Then on the the finance person who tries to talk you into warranties and — even when you tell him that you don’t want any — they end up on the contract anyway. Exhausting!!!
This was NOT what happened at CJ Wilson! My sister needed a new ride and we walked in and was greeted by Krystal Smith. I told Krystal that I didn’t want to waste a whole day buying the car. She did well and got us out the door in 2 ½ hours. That time included test driving a Mazda 3, negotiating the price, reviewing and signing the papers, touring the service department and having all of the features explained by Krystal. My sister asked a lot of questions and Krystal was very patient.
The bottom line is that we got a fair price without a lot of BS. I would recommend buying a car from Krystal and the Mazda 3 is awesome !

I drove an hour to see one of their «certified used» vehicles. When I looked at this vehicle it had just over 10k miles; however, the front bumper was significantly damaged (completely cracked right side), the interior was filthy, and there were chunks out of the rear bumper. Needless to say this was a disappointment.

they had this priced at «outstanding condition» and they were unwilling to negotiate on price. They were; however, willing to fix the major flaws if I committed to the purchase today. This I appreciated but still I wouldn’t buy an unfinished product.
Then on top of that we had our car appraised and we gave it a «clean» rating in Edmonds. They came back 40% below the Edmonds trade in value. To me it seemed obvious that they were looking to fix the car we wanted to buy using the savings they would have gotten from our trade in. In essence we would have paid to get this «certified used» and «outstanding condition» priced car up to the real standards which they were trying to sell it at.
I’m a financial analyst and with these number’s it is very easy to see that they to not look for a win win negotiation. This would have been clearly a win for them at our expense. They will not negotiate $ 1 on the sale price of a their car no matter how bad the condition or what Edmonds says but they will low ball you 40% on your trade in comparison to the Edmonds trade in value.
The sales associate was very nice but the people behind the curtain pulling the strings and approving the numbers are only looking at to take you for as much as possible. This was very disappointing.
Do your homework people or else you will lose money transacting with this dealer. They do not sit on the same side of the table as you.

I took my Mazda in for an oil change today. Aidan was a pleasure to work with in the service department and called me when the technician had suggestions for me to purchase. I was thrilled to receive complimentary rides home (thank you, Kevin) and back while my car was serviced. I couldn’t be happier with the level of professionalism I experienced today. I wish CJ Wilson and crew continued success.

Be weary of the advertised prices. We were lured here by seeing advertised prices around $ 3,000-$ 4,000 lower than MSRP, but found that these prices were extremely unrealistic. They have the appropriate disclaimers listed that the price is net manufacture rebates that you might not qualify for, but do your research before you walk in the door.
In our case we were looking for a Mazda CX-​5 Grand Touring, they had a few listed for around $ 3k less than MSRP, however when you read the fine print you need to be active military, AND graduated college in the last 2 years, AND currently drive a Mazda, AND have a 2004 or newer Subaru Legacy that we would be trading in.
All of the Mazda dealers in the area have access to the same incentives, and preferred to work with a dealer that didn’t play games with unrealistically low prices and instead work with one that seemed a little more open and straight forward.
If you live in the city and are planning to drive to CJ Wilson because their advertised prices are so much lower than the competition … make sure you read the fine print!
