Robin Meezan, MD

Went in for a meet & greet. All was good until the topic of vaccines came up. With her and her practice it’s all or nothing, said she «loves the CDC’s vaccines and their schedule, it’s the best thing». Unfortunately, this is not in line with what we’re looking for, a more flexible and customized schedule based on a child’s individual systemic makeup.

Dr. Meezan is an incredible physician and truly cares about her patients. She has «coached» us through first child parenting and has a ton of patience for our many many questions. I completely trust her, look forward to seeing her at appointments, and feel grateful to have found such a wonderful pediatrician for my son. Highly recommend her and Summit Pediatrics!

Having two kids and having moved a few times, I have a bit of experience with various pediatricians. We were very lucky to have found Dr Meezan after moving to the area, She has a great manner with the children, has really gone the extra mile without asking when needed, and is clearly interested in how the children are doing holistically.

I went to Dr. Meezhan for a 2^nd opinion and also to see if I could change our primary doctor to her. I was satisfied with our experience but since her office was far I decided to wait a little longer to make my decision. when my daughter got sick recently and her doctor couldn’t see her I decided to make an appointment with dr. Meezhan and just move her records to dr. Meezhan going forward. I called the dr.‘s office and asked them to fax her files to Dr. Meezhan and made an appointment with her at 1. She called me around 10 and told me she won’t be able to see me because she didn’t see my daughter for her 9 months appointment and it looks like I am seeing her and another pediatric and I should just stay with my daughters pediatric because they have a good practice. I was shocked. I have never seen a doctor refuse care and also make a decision
For me. I explained to her that I had asked the dr. Office to fax my daughters records and the other dr. Didn’t have any appointments today and my daughter was pretty ill. She said she had called the dr. Office and they had appointments and she will be happy to see my daughter for her 12 months checkup but won’t see her today. As a physician her job is to see patients and provide care. Refusing to see a patient because she thinks the patient is seeing another dr. Is unethical and unheard of. I have a right to take my child to as many doctors as I want as long as I provide her with her records and pay for her fees. For her to refuse care, make a decision for me as far as which dr. I should see and to call my dr.‘s office without my permission is unethical!

I transferred to Dr. Meezan after she moved from her former practice, where I was a member for five years. The kindness and time Dr. Meezan gives to her patients (and their parents) is amazing. She has been more than approachable via texts to discuss small concerns, and is very responsive and considerate. She never makes me feel like I am being a bother, which is something I have previously felt with other doctors on call. She recently came in off hours to give my son stiches so he would not have to stay at the ER late — an incredible gesture considering she was not even on call! I cannot recommend Dr. Meezan highly enough!

Being a first time mother, I was looking for the right connection per say… I «interviewed» with a few doctors in my area and my third stop was Dr. Meezan. I actually stumbled upon her previous office who recommended that I call her at her new office…
When first meeting, she was very approachable. Very open to discussing my concerns and looking to meet me and exchange thoughts and information. I’m glad I was pointed in her direction… grateful to say the least.

My kids love Dr. Meezan, and so do I! She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and truly cares about each and every thing going on with my kids. Any time I have a question or concern, she is incredibly responsive. Even if it is not urgent, we are able to get advice or an appointment to see her on the same day. She takes the time to listen to all concerns, big or small, and our entire family is so grateful to have her as our pediatrician.

Our family loves Dr Meezan! She was so patient with me when I was an incredibly neurotic first-​time mom and is still awesome five years later after I’ve relaxed a bunch and am on my third little one. She’s very down-​to-​earth and practical, cutting through the textbook advice and all the so-​called rules of parenting that made my head spin, and helped me focus on the important stuff. When my third baby had a jaundice scare at a week old, she was calm and reassuring and helped me through the process even though she was away on vacation with her own family, texting and calling to check up on test results. We’ve followed Dr Meezan to her new Orinda location and hope to be with Dr Meezan for the next 18 years!

Dr. Meezan is *amazing.* She has been our pediatrician since she started at this practice and has been absolutely perfect for our kids who are ages 5, 2.5, and 3 weeks. She is that perfect combination of scientific, nice, listening, funny, and amazing bedside manner with kids. She gets our 5 year old to sit still and answer questions that we can’t. My wife says that if she wasn’t our doctor, she’d completely try to be friends with her. I cannot think of a single thing I’d improve with her.

We love Dr. Meezan! We switched pediatricians when my daughter turned two and Dr. Meezan came highly recommended. We have not been disappointed! She takes the time to sit and talk to you and puts a lot of focus on the developmental progress of our daughter-​which I love. She also has great practical advice as she is a young mom as well. We never feel rushed, my daughter enjoys going to the dr. and everyone else we have encountered at the practice has also been wonderful. The office is clean and spacious, the front desk is welcoming and I really like that they have a sick room and a well room for waiting and also early morning drop in hours in case you need an apt. right away. I recommend Pediatric Medical Group and Dr. Meezan to everyone.

Dr. Meezan is extremely thoughtful and is very sensible. She always explains her reasons behind her recommendations and is very open-​minded yet has strong opinions. She always gives me a clear approach to problem solving and I always feel very empowered as a parent when I leave her office. In addition, I love that she always asks about how we are doing and reminds us how important it is to take «date nights.» Her office staff is just as wonderful and I have never had to wait to long to be seen. They are also very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. I would recommend her to anyone especially new parents.

We’ve been with Dr. Meezan for going on four years, first with our son and now with our infant daughter as well. Dr. Meezan always takes the time to thoroughly discuss any concerns I have, she has an excellent rapport with the kids and she’s a down to earth and thoughtful practitioner. She takes an evidence based approach, always clearly explains the reasons behind her recommendations and has a very warm and friendly manner that is as effective with anxious first time parents as it is with those of us coming to her with our second child. The other docs in her practice are great, too, so if she can’t see you, your child will be in good hands.

The best Pediatrician!!! Dr. Robin Meezan is so amazing, my toddlers enjoy coming in for a visit! She takes the time to sit and listen to your questions and responds with solutions that are easy to understand. I would recommend Dr. Meezan, especially, to new moms. She has a calm, reassuring way about her that makes you feel at ease. She got me through my first 3 months as a new mom.
I wish I could find a doctor, for myself, that is as great as she is with my children.

Since 2005, we have been very happy with the Pediatric Medical Group in Berkeley. Our pediatrician is Dr. Robin Meezan, and we find her to be thorough, kind and as she is currently the parent of a toddler. .. exceedingly empathetic to the worries of first-​time parents!
When our daughter had a concerning medical detour regarding some immunity issues and we were referred out to UCSF specialists (in immunology, pulmonology and otolaryngology (Diane Wara, MD, Nancy Lewis, MD and Kristina Rosbe, MD), we found that most of these very well respected UCSF specialists knew Dr. Meezan from her rotations in their clinics. .. and they were very impressed with her as well.
If you are pregnant and hunting for pediatricians, I encourage you to meet Dr. Meezan. Insurance wise, the Pediatric Medical Group is part of the Alta Bates Medical group.
Perhaps one of the best things about dealing with this office is that in our three years of parenting, there has never been one time that we’ve needed a same-​day appointment and they haven’t been able to squeeze us in with one of the docs. Ursula at the front desk is so kind and reassuring, and Amber (one of the nurses) gives stickers away like nobody’s business – she’s just got a great, laid back manner.
Extra bonus points for separate entrances for well-​visits and sick kids!
