Students learn through Individual Lessons and then apply their learning in a band setting through our Rock Band Classes.

Meet the Business Owner

Dave W.

Business Owner

Dave started teaching at 23 years of age, and started playing the bass and the guitar at age 15 (that’s a long time ago!) In his musical career, he has been a member of, or free-​lanced for, reggae, progressive rock, pop, top 40, swing, salsa, country, folk, bluegrass, heavy metal, punk, be-​bop, and big bands. If you can think of any other genre, he’s probably had a chance to play it, too. (Except death-​polka. He’s still waiting on that call…)

Many of Dave’s students have gone on to receive college scholarships and awards and competitions from major universities. He has also taught several students who achieved the Utah High School All-​State Jazz bassist award. Other students have gone on to major success in the recording industry, landing recording contracts and appearing in films. Dave is the director of the Modern School of Music, and the author of the Modern School of Music Method books for Guitar, Bass, and Keyboards.
