Specialties
For over 30 years, the Blackhawk Steak Pit’s focus has been excellent steaks grilled over a huge charcoal grill. The steaks are around $ 20, while chicken, pork chops and seafood are UNDER $ 20. Providing a great value for the money, meals include rice pilaf or a baked potato, addictive garlic bread as well as an updated salad bar. A few of the notable sides are the made-to-order mac ‘n cheese and the creamed spinach.
History
Established in 1978.
Brothers, Peter and John Tsioles opened the Blackhawk Steak Pit in Oregon, IL right along the Rock River on north Route 2 across the river from Lowden State Park and the world’s second largest concrete statue, Chief Blackhawk. They knew the location was perfect for quick weekend getaways from Chicago. For over 30 years, they have happily served the people around the Rock River Valley as well as Chicago and other cities further away.
