Sparks Auto Service

Being fairly new to the area, it can be a chore to find a reputable, high quality, honest auto repair shop. I recently had to bring my car in for work and had a very positive experience. Chris was honest and detailed in his explanation of repairs needed (thank goodness all that was needed was to remove a mouse nest from the engine compartment!) They provided me with a run down of work that may need to be done down the road, with no pushy sales pitch of any kind. They seem to keep detailed notes in their customer database for future reference. All in all, an excellent experience. I highly recommend them. Thanks to Chris and the Sparks team for growing an honest business!

I loved this company until 5 minutes ago. I’ve taken my cars there three times now with great results, and one billing error. It was immediately and politely taken care of, big whoop. At 6:33 pm I get an unknown number call, answered just to have it hanging up in my ear. At 7:14 another one, this time it was some solicitor wanting me to do some frickin survey about my experience with them. If I want phone solicitations I’ll start entering drawings. I don’t, because I fricking DONT WANT THAT CRAP CALLING MY CELL PHONE! I’m so disheartened that they would do this crap to a loyal customer, it makes me sick to have to look for somewhere else, but if they don’t value their customers privacy? screw this. If they’re giving your cell to this piece of crap outfit, who’s the piece of crap survey place giving it to? I expect a slew of calls at all hours of the night because I did business with this place. They do great work, I can’t stress that enough, but thanks for the screw job guys! I can’t bring myself to give them one star, they’re way better than that, but I’m so pissed I won’t get to sleep tonight, thanks for nothing.

Wanted to get sushi for lunch today, had crow instead. I got a call this morning that puts me 100% at ease about this situation. The calls that I received were not from a random agency but rather from a firm that works directly for sparks. They assured me that there will be no further calls. I should’ve just went with the survey and expressed my appreciation for the fine work they’ve done for me. But alas, I overreacted. Knowing the class act that you encounter at this establishment I should’ve known better, but I was seriously figuring out how to change my digits. If you hate telemarketers as I do, tell sparks you’d like to be removed from the list. Or better yet just go along with their program like I should’ve. Sorry guys, you seriously do great for your customers.

Spencer and his people have always done a great job on both my wife’s car and my own (both Mercedes) including one that kept throwing an error code for no apparent reason. My prior mechanic would clear the code but could not figure it out and it would pop up again and again. Sparks took the time to determine WHY the code kept comming up and what needed to fix it once and for all. Even though it was spendie it always costs more to do the job right. And actually it’s less costly than doing the same fix over and over. You get what you pay for here.

Spencer was excellent with of my both vehicles he’s serviced. One was a 2005 Odyssey that had major engine problems. He kept it for several days researching what went wrong and the best possible options for us. He was thorough and honest about our options, pricing, and what the outcome might entail for each type of repair. He went above and beyond and did not charge for diagnosis, even though it took a fair amount of his time. He’s also serviced our 1998 Civic, giving us information on what repairs were urgent and what could wait. No upselling here. I would recommend this auto repair shop to anyone.

Hands down the best– most honest auto repair shop i’ve ever dealt with! Spencer was knowledgeable and honest. They completed the job on time and our truck has run great ever since– even hauled the trailer camping. So glad to have found them.

Spencer and his crew of highly skilled technicians treat their customers as if each job performed is on personal level and will bend over backwards and go that extra mile making sure all your question and auto needs are satisfied. The folks at sparks were really helpful. I performed an engine conversion on our vanagon syncro and of course I chose not to go with an engine swap that the masses use when you think of a vanagon engine conversion. I dug myself into a complex hole of wtf. These folks took over my headache and got me up and running. Many shops won’t touch a project like this and they did graciously and at a price that’s affordable. Thank you sparks.

The staff at Sparks Auto Service we’re awesome to work with. They are incredibly knowledgeable and provide exceptional customer service.
The Service Manager, Chris took the time to go through each of the diagnosed issues on an Audi that we wanted thoroughly inspected. He provided insight into which of the diagnosed issues were very minor and didn’t need to be done right away to ones that should be repaired. We were extremely satisfied with the work they performed.

This shop is legit! Very professional service at a very reasonable price. Communication was timely, thorough, and HONEST. I was given options on proceeding with the repair along the way and the employees took care of my car as if it were their own. Thank you to Chris, Spencer and the techs. My husband and I will be back with our other vehicle.

I failed emissions last week & took my car into Sparks see what the problem was. I worked with Chris and he was very helpful explaining what the problems could be and the course of action needed. He let me know they would look at my car the next day and call me with the information and quote on price to repair.
I got a call the next day as promised but unfortunately the repairs were going to cost more than the car was worth so I didn’t get the work done.
I’m very happy with my experience at Sparks. Chris was very professional and followed through with the time lines he laid out.
I will definitely use them again in the future.

I’ve taken my cars to many shops and this is one of the best. If you want honest mechanics who tell you what you actually need to maintain your car, go to these guys. Great service and very professional!

I’ve been pretty skeptical about auto repair places in the past, but Sparks is really different. They are superbly honest and helpful. They are really good at what they do. They communicate really well and their prices make sense to me. They’ve worked on both my cars, a 1997 Infiniti and a 1986 Nissan pickup. They are my go-​to people for service and repair. I recommend them highly.

I’m writing this review because this place is honestly as good as it gets when it comes to independent auto service. I brought in a Ford Ranger, looking for some advice on an airbag light. They pulled the code and helped me understand what it meant and, because it only took them a minute, they waived off any fee.
A few days later I called for some further advice on an issue with my Toyota 4runner and they were able to talk me through the options, pros, cons and costs before I even brought it in! The crew here is as helpful, honest, and straightforward as it gets. From on-​top-​of-​it scheduling for services, generally helpful and friendly demeanor, and (obviously) top quality work — you really can’t ask for a better shop!

I’m usually skeptical about mechanics, but this place was a breath of fresh air! Recommended by a friend, I took my Prius in for a «checkup» and general road worthiness. I spent more than an hour chatting with the guy about my car; everything was explained, copious amounts of information were presented to me, and a good discussion of what NEEDS to be done vs what COULD be done. Not milking me out of $ for unnecessary repairs just because I’m car ignorant? Not here! Go! Enjoy! I’ll be back-​once you find a good mechanic, never let em go

Took my 2010 Jetta in for an oil change. These guys are awesome. Fast, friendly and thorough. I called for a quote and they actually called me back right away. I waited a little over an hour and during that time took a fabulous walk along the Oregon City Promenade which looks out over the falls and the river and to the OC Elevator. Then a walk through historic downtown (5 blocks) to Singer Hill Café for a wonderful cup of coffee. Give this local business a try, well worth it. They work on all types of cars including European andJapanese.

I took a car I had planned to purchase to the shop for a pre-​purchase inspection. The car seemed to run perfectly, had only 44,000 miles and the owner (of the car) said it had been in a «minor» accident. After briefly surveying the car, the guys at Sparks determined that the car had been hit in the front and rear and the repair job was shotty. They were friendly, efficient and thorough. Thank you for saving me the trouble of dealing with a lemon! I will be back fr sure!
As far as the last post goes; why did you have your car detailed BEFORE you took it in for a repair???
