cataract operation was fine, but i didnt seem to understand that after upgrading another $ 2000 for the toric lens insert i wouldnt have good vision at distance… the staff seem to think I didnt know what I was talking about… a little condescending… if my dentist or lawyer treated me this way, i would bounce… After telling the assistant that i had poor vision and blurry distance… she did the test and said i was fine… the doctor affirmed her opinion… i will get this resolved and i wont go back… if i treated people like this in my business, i probably wouldnt have much…

OMG — RUN !!! Do people actually read these ratings and reviews? I very seldom write a review, but this kind of service needs to be shared. I already had an exam elsewhere and simply brought my prescription to get the glasses here. Boy was that a mistake. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping me make a choice and pick some frames. They said it would take 7 — 10 days and they would call me. 7 – 10 days came and went and no call. So my wife called, they apologized, explaining that their computers went down and caused backlog of about 3 days. 2 Weeks rolls by, not a word. and I called at the 2 ½ week point and inquired about my glasses and that 3 weeks had almost lapsed. No apologies, but placed on hold while they checked with their lab. «Oh, they are just polishing them, they will be in tomorrow, we will call you ok?» uhmm ok. wait, where is your lab? «oh, its in Milwaukee». Ok, Click. Wife calls the following day. oh, your husbands glasses will be here tomorrow evening. So, I still dont have my glasses, and dont really want them anymore. Binyons, Lens Crafters, there is plenty of options out there people, so if you have a choice, shop elsewhere. I just cant«see» spending my money here

This appears to be an example of greed at its worse. There are so many patients and so few physicians that your time is of no consequence. A few physicians move between dozens and dozens of rooms for a few minutes in each. Chargers are at maximum rates and with this number of patients the bottom line for this business must be fabulous.

This review is for the receptionists only– I have been a satisfied patient of the Northrup clinic for over 20 years, and I just scheduled my first appointment with the Oregon City clinic. I hope(and trust) that I will be satisfied with my doctor, but after the way I was treated by SALLY after trying to make an appointment, I am hesitant to even go in. Sally insisted that EHN did not contract with my insurance, even after I called my provider to confirm. She told me in a tone that was condescending, accusatory, and just plain rude. She finally transferred me over to bookkeeping in a manner that was less-than professional. Bookkeeping indeed confirmed the contract, and had no idea why the front office staff was not up-to-date on their contracted providers– she assured me she would call them immediately. I had my husband call back and schedule the appointment as by this time I was too upset to go through another bout of Sally’s «customer service». She apparently apologized to him– said something about dealing with an angry customer earlier, and having a meeting scheduled the next day about current provider contracts. Seriously??? Where is the professionalism? Well, if I can muster up the nerve to actually go through with the appointment, I will be more than happy to revise my rating, but for now, stay clear of Sally.

When your appointment is at 8:30 in the morning you expect your day to start off on time — instead you don’t get called back until almost 9am and you wonder how the rest of the day is going to go for everyone after you who you assume will be stuck sitting and waiting as well. The staff is nice enough and I don’t have to go in very often so it’s close by and I’ve been going for years. It is a bit annoying when you are in one room where they dilate your eyes and then they make you go wait in a brightly light area to move to another«pod» where your actual doctor will see you. Not so comfortable. The doctors themselves are good and knowledgeable.

The doctors are great, the wait times are inexcusable. I brought my son in for an exam. We waited 15 minutes, then the technician checked his vision. We then waited another 20 minutes for a second technician. Then he finally got his eyes dilated and we waited another 35 minutes to see the doctor. We were there a total of over 2 hours!

I have been going here since I was a kid. It wasn’t til I was a parent taking my own children that I realized how much I hate this place. It is not the doctors. My daughter has JRA, and her doc does a great job checking her for uveitis and following up with her rheumatologist. It is the front desk staff and the optical department. I’ve gone in just to have my son’s glasses adjusted, and no joke, we’ve waited 45 minutes before. It is ridiculous. They never acknowledge that you are even there waiting. If they would offer a pleasant«I’ll be right with you» or «we’re really busy and be with you as soon as we can.» You might as well have the plague. Today, on a Saturday, I went in to pick up a pair of contacts. I’m on crutches and have a huge boot on because of a sprained foot. First off, those handicapped door buttons were turned off! Here I am struggling to get through the door and the automatic door isn’t even on. They were ten minutes from closing. If they’re not closed, the automatic doors should still be functioning. When I go in, I went to the usual window where I’ve picked up contacts for the past 15 years. The woman said I would have to go over to optical now since they had been moved. She didn’t offer to get them for me — she was not doing anything. Just went back to chatting with a co-worker. I hobbled over to the optical department where I stood without bring acknowledged for 10 minutes. I was so irritated. There were two employees helping customers and neither of them offered to assist, asked what I needed or called on someone to help me. Two different front desk employees walked by me and said nothing to me. I’m so irritated by this time, that I just walked over to the front desk and said«can you please just get my contacts for me? They are very busy and aren’t helping me.» It was obvious she didn’t feel it was her«job» to retrieve the contacts for me. I do not understand how people continue to go here with such poor customer service. There are so many elderly people who use this clinic and I can’t imagine how they are treated. They really need an overhaul of their customer relations training. Even though I like my doctor, I am so tired of dealing with the insensitive and incompetent people who work here, I think it may be time to look for a new eye clinic. This review is specific to the Oregon City office only.

Great Doctors and medical staff, but you’ll often wait 15 – 20 minutes beyond your appointment start time before they see you. If you have to reach them by telephone, there are 10 different options and no «for all other matters», so it can take a while to get the right person on the phone. Dr. Hagen performed my Lasik surgery(on 9÷11÷01) and I’d give him six stars if I could. I just called to get a copy of a document. Finally got through to a live person on my third attempt and they faxed it to me within 2 minutes… So I gave them their 5th star back. I’d give the front office staff three stars based on years of interactions.

I have come to Eye Health Northwest for several years. They are covered by my insurance and are located close to my home. However, I have repeatedly had to wait long past my appointment time to be seen. I am always asked to show up early for my appointment to handle any paperwork, I do show up early and still have to wait. On my last appointment, I waited 70 minutes to see a Dr. I was still not seated in an exam room. After I was seated, I waited another 10 minutes in the exam room and still had not seen the Dr. When I asked, when will I see the Dr., I was told there was another patient in front of me! Unbelievable. This is not the first time this has happened. I don’t understand why the Dr’s think their time is more important than mine. I am also a professional and left my work early so that I could be there for my alloted time. I think they totally overbook their schedule and don’t give a damn if people have to wait. Very rude and unprofessional. I will find another opthalmologist!
