Tos Smog Test Only Station

This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I went to get his truck smogged and I asked if they could see why my check engine light was on. They ran it for free and gave me the code, and explained what it could be and told me I could find even more info online. So nice, super fast! I’ll be coming here from now on if I have any problems! :)

Great service and fast. I was there for 12 noon appointment and it was done by 12:17. They told me 30 mins but I was out of their shop in 15 mins. Even got a $ 10 discount from the coupon I printed online.

Called for appt. was given one 30 mins later. Arrived and was greated by very nice employee. 15 mins later I was off to dmv for 2 hour wait. Thanks TOS of orangevale. I’ll be back for years to come. Best smog place around

I called a few days prior and set up an appointment. This was a two-​step process because I was also calling around for the best price.
As I learned that there are «hidden/​extra» fees on the lower priced stations, I ended up here based on the fact that they take appointments and they were recommended to me by a long time customer.
My appointment was Saturday, 10 am. They were quick, helpful, on time, and very courteous. Adding to that the fact that my friend says they are honest, I will definitely be returning.

Open — but not doing smog checks cause he is at an appt til noon — thats good for business — buh bye!
Says it all. if you are going to say you are open for business. be there and be open. too many shops around that will take my money. I drove 5 minutes away and had my truck smogged within the hour.

I love this place!!! I’ve been going there for years, and as a professional mechanic, I’m picky about who touches my cars… They have always been friendly and courteous…

TOS (Test Only Smog) has been smogging my car for roughly the past decade. It’s easy to make an appointment and have your car smogged. I made my appointment for 8am on a Saturday morning, dropped off my keys, walked to Starbucks and got a call saying my car was done before I had finished my coffee. There were two other walk-​ins there when I showed up, but because I made an appointment, my car had preference, so I recommed making an appointment at least 3 days in advance in order to save waiting time. I think it was only $ 60 too, which is about the standard rate I’ve seen advertised around town. If you’re looking for it, the building has purple garage doors and is right next door to the Orangevale Liquor and Little Caesars Pizza, opposite the Walgreen’s parking lot. Friendly gal behind the counter, no problems with any paperwork or payment.

I’ve used this smog check place now three times for two different cars and all times they get me in and out quick, they’re very personal and of course I always pass! They are great and I highly recommend them, plus they’ll make firm appointment times so you don’t have to wait.

The smog equipment was being repaired and one of the machines was down so another car was worked on before mine even though we were there first. I was all fixed to be upset and I think the lady behind the counter sensed that and gave me $ 10.00 off my test only smog, I really appreciated the discount and the gesture made a huge difference in my feelings about their service. Can people be a little friendlier, sure, but when you are injured as she was and bombarded with a flood of customers, it can be a little tough but she did make an real effort. I do feel this is an honest facility and bottom line is, that’s what matters. I would recommend TOS to a friend.

I went here yesterday not knowing my wife had a bad experience with them. I didn’t use their service, but the lady at the desk had a really poor attitude. They said one of their smog stations was broken down so it would be a 45 minute wait. I asked if they would have it fixed tomorrow and her response was «I don’t know but it wont make a difference. Expect to wait 45 minutes».
I decided to go elsewhere. I love having a choice, and I love Unilocal

I called and made an appointment. When I showed up, they told me it was a 20 min. wait. I asked for another appointment in which I would not have to wait 20 minutes and was told that they don’t guarantee that an appointment guarantees a person not to have to wait 20 minutes. 10 minutes would have been acceptable. However, if you are going to make appointments, then you should take the responsibility to honor the time slot you have appointed. How would this business feel if I showed up 20 minutes late with the expectation that I would get my car in upon arrival? I am sure they would not accommodate me. The weird thing, I told the lady that I would go elsewhere and she actually got a little huffy. WEIRD. Not going back.
On a brighter note, I went right down the street and got right in. Thanks to Orangevale Smog at 9200 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, CA 95 662. Not only did I get right in, several people showed up (they all wanted to rent U-​haul trucks) and the man did not shift me to the back of the line. He told everyone else that he had someone ahead of them and it would be a few moments. How nice that my business is appreciated.
