Attention all Free Range parents, this place will not allow my children to come in and buy a toy with money they earned by being very good during a long meal at a fancy restaurant while we were across the street. When they came back the first time I sent them back a note. They came back again, empty handed and almost in tears trying to understand why they are «so mean.»
Wow, won’t be shopping there again, we frequent the place often after family dinners. I guess we will go to the comic or candy store down the street.

this is a cute store that I have poured a lot of money and time into for every gift I’ve had to buy in the last few years. great and unique selection and so close to my home, but I’ve had a bad enough experience that I refuse to go back. purchased some sea monkeys as a gift and turns out the tank was defective and leaked water everywhere. despite the tiddlywinks sticker on the bottom of the box and the fact that the same people who sold it to me where there when I came back, they refused to even do an exchange for me without a receipt. I understand needing proof of purchase but I wasn’t in it for my money, I just wanted something that was not broken. how outrageous, huh? I was understanding and kind but the manager had a condescending attitude that I didn’t appreciate. like if I’m not there to blow all my cash, Im not worth her time. bummed out they treat their customers so poorly. on the bright side, you can find a lot of the same on Amazon for much cheaper.

What a special toy store in a quaint town. We stopped in here as part of our Orange Walking Food Tour. We obviously didn’t eat anything here, but we stopped in as a «this is a special place in our city» type of deal. We loved all the special little (and big) toys they had. They specialize in carrying non-​commercial, non-​branded items (so you know, no Marvel, etc). We had limited time there and we don’t live in Orange, but we decided that we should visit again once our kid is old enough to play with some of the awesome toys Tiddlywinks carries. We did buy our (then) 6 month-​old a toy for his 1^st Birthday (a cool wooden airplane).

There selection of toys, educational and fun, is outstanding! I have a lot of friends who’s children are in the 1 – 2 year age range and Tiddlywinks has these wonderful block books that are about $ 15 for a set of six books. I think a few of the mom’s I have gifted them to have told me the know the books by heart because their kids love them so much!
Staff is wonderful and the even wrap gifts! If you like giving unique gifts that kids love come here. It is always a fun place to stroll into and look around too.

I love to support local businesses and my neighbors in Old Towne, so when I needed a gift for a two year old’s birthday, I decided to check out Tiddlywinks. Having only walked past it before, I was under the impression that they only sold old fashioned vintage style toys. They do have a great selection of old fashioned/​nostalgia items, but they also have contemporary toys, European toys, costumes, children’s books, educational toys, etc. Everything appears to be high quality. I was able to find an adorable gift (book and matching soft toy) + a card + complimentary gift wrapping within my budget (under $ 50) The ladies working there were all helpful and friendly. I will definitely be a return customer.

This is a great family owned toy store right off of the orange circle. They have a great selection of many types of toys, and although the prices are a bit steep, you’re also getting a higher quality product instead of your run-​of-​the-​mill plastic Fischer-​price loot. My husband and I always enjoy taking our son here, and we almost always find something to add to his ever growing toy collection. I deducted 1 star for the smaller selection of toys/​items for children under 12 months.

What a GREAT children’s toy store. The store is just full of so many retro and new fun toys. They have a great book selection and so many toy choices for all ages. The sales staff was so helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help me find just the right gift. The store also has free giftwrap which is a big plus. I feel the prices are very fair. If you are in the Old Towne area I suggest that you definitely stop by and take a look… you will be very pleased!

By far one of our favorite places to go! We regularly stop in just to check out what they have and always walk out with something awesome. The staff is ALWAYS incredible and so kind to my entire family. I’m proud to be a regular and prefer to shop here for any kids gifts I need to buy! Oh– and it’s so convenient with little ones that they gift wrap for me, saves me time and looks so nice!

Came her recently to try to exchange an item and the owner raised her eyebrows at me asking for a receipt. She was not friendly at all. Mind you, I was not asking for cash back just an exchange. This is not the first time I have experienced unfriendly service from both the owner and their staff. Won’t be shopping here again.

I’ve walked by several times but decided yesterday to peak inside and I’m so glad I did. Such a nice atmosphere and helpful staff. I actually was looking at a few games and they opened a few and taught me how to play! Great customer service and selection. Can’t wait to go back!

If you are looking for a unique toy gift, this is the place to go. The owner makes a special effort to stock rare and cool items that you will not find in the chain stores. Kids have enough electronics. Here is where you go to buy real toys.

I come here to shop for birthday gifts. They carry unique and old school toys and books. I’ve never had a problem finding gifts for a babyshower to ages 8+. They have wooden toys for infants and brain games for older children. They also have events frequently like a bunny visit for Easter. I love the fact that they always ask if my purchase is a gift and if so if I’d like it gift wrapped! I always walk out mission accomplished and party ready. :) the owners are usually around and always friendly. Love supporting such an awesome store that brings me back to when I was a kid.

Lovely store with a huge selection of toys, but unfortunately, the customer service is non existent. I went in with my husband looking to buy something for our two children. We were the only customers in the store. Two young ladies were at the registers and didn’t acknowledge us once. A simple «hello» would have been nice, especially since we were the only people in the store.

Large hand puppets drew me into this store from the street. I perused the variety of animals represented in puppetry land but was quickly asked if I needed any help. I forgot all about the puppets and was accompanied to age appropriate toys for the children that were with me. Clever!
I was impressed with the salesperson’s ability to select a toy the child might like based on age appropriateness. My friend’s child is young and toys were suggested specifically for that age. The lady actually put the toy in the child’s hands to see the reaction to the toy by the child. It was like a raiki type experience which again is very clever! What vibe does the child get from the toy?
What child does not like a ball? So simple but an appropriate size was selected by the salesperson. Smart! A green ball and blue ball of correct size was selected and presented to the child customer. Cute! The child went for the small blue ball decorated with robots. Then the blue ball and a red ball was presented to the discriminating customer. He chose the red ball decorated with running dogs and dog bones so she put that in his stroller. Sold! And sweet!
Other quality toys were selected and everyone left happy!
I will return to look throughout this store by myself. But for this visit, serendipity prevailed. Awww!

I came in this afternoon shopping for my nephews fourth birthday. Unfortunately for the store, there was an older lady working with short brown hair and glasses. And we walked through the store playing with many of the sample toys, she continually had nothing nice to say. Now I understand if you’re having a bad day, but seriously? You work at a child’s store, with kids who frequent often. I know they have rules, but nothing my sister and I did was wrong or apart of any «violating terms.» Finally, as we were about to depart, this same worker said, «Oh yeah, if you’re parked on the street. You’ll be towed. I’d go check.»
Now I am also a frequent visitor of the circle, and know the streets don’t tow unless it’s been three hours. She was just looking for an excuse to get my sister and I out of the store.
Needless to say, thanks to her I’ll b taking my business elsewhere, instead supporting small, local businesses.

Fun place to take a browse and to shop. I liked all the brain games and retro game they had. Plus, the selection of miniature toys and accessories.
They have craft starter kits and projects for kids. I really liked the selection they have and wanted several items.
They have a wall of inexpensive items to choose from which includes candy.
I definitely recommend stopping in and taking a peek. There is something for everyone.

Best toy store in OC!
Their selection is fantastic for the size of the store. It’s obvious they chose every piece of merchandise carefully. Nice selection of retro toys, but the best part are the bins brimming with Tchotchkes. Windup toys, Jumpropes, parachute men… On and on.
Nice selection of games too.

I definitely love Ma-​and-​Pa toy stores because I find them so unique and beautiful in their own way. Toys shouldn’t be so generic where everyone has the same plaything as the other.
Prices were fair on most items. Others were just outrageously crazy. I saw toys in here that I wouldn’t even dream of and I haven’t even seen before. That makes it cool.
Ambiance wise. Like any toy store. I was expecting something to wow me when I walked in.

You have small kids with you while you are strolling Old Town Orange on a pleasant Saturday morning? Then do NOT enter this store!!! It is a kid’s equivalent of a $ 100 scratch-​off winner. They win; you pay.
But I jest. This is really a cute shop, with a nice variety of toys, many designed to actually stimulate a child’s brain. Play and learning together. There are puzzles for different ages. Lots of books too. Of course there are stuffed animals and such. We left with a cat. In it’s own carrying case.
Prices are reasonable. The store is owned by a nice young couple, and they provide some activities for kids and face painting too. Free. At least I hope it was meant to be free.

Where was Tiddlywinks when I was a kid?
Located in old town Orange, Tiddlywinks in not your average toy store.
You won’t find any commercial junk toys here. So if you’re looking for a Barbie Doll or some GI Joe action figures you’ll need to head over to Toy R Us or Target.
If you’re looking for a one of a kind, educational or retro toy or board game then Tiddlywinks is the place for you.
My wife and I came here recently to buy my soon to be six year old niece a B-​day gift. There were many awesome gifts to choose from. In the end we bought her a cute cupcake baking set, complete with a tiny cupcake pan, wrappers and even a small frosting decorating tool. The set came in an cool looking retro tin box. We also bought here a few odds and ends gifts like scratch and sniff stickers, some head bands all wrapped together in the shape of a lollipop and a little stationary set.
Besides the great gifts, what sets this place apart is the service. The girls who were working the day we visited the shop were all extremely friendly and informative. Because this place isn’t too big, if you have any questions all you have to do is simply look in an employee’s direction and they’ll be by your side in seconds, ready to answer any questions you may have. Have you ever tried to get help at Toys R Us? It’s a headache. The employees at Tiddlywinks actually value their customers, unlike the big chain toy stores. They’ll even wrap your gifts for you if you’d like, which is cool.
If you’re looking for a unique gift then look no further than Tiddlywinks. I wish this place was around when I was a kid. I saw many things I would have loved as a child. Heck, I saw many things that I’d still love to play with today.
