I went here to visit quest diagnostics for some lab work. I was in the building for 15 minutes. Quest lost my lab work. So I didn’t get a chance to get it done. Upon exiting the building I had to pay four dollars(and that’s with validation) for parking for my 15 minutes. What a racket, Shame on you St. Joseph’s.

I’ve been to the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment a couple of times and thought the inside of this building was just beautiful! Each time I’ve been here, I’ve had to go straight to the physical therapy area in the basement. I’m surprised by how serene a basement can be. This lovely area has plenty of light, a really comfortable waiting area, and a wonderful garden atrium. This area is not only beautiful but also very relaxing. The Physical Therapist that helped me was Valerie. She was awesome! She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She was also very patient, which completely put me at ease. If I ever have to go back, I hope she’ll be the Physical Therapist! The only reason I took of a star off was because of the employee who came to work sick. Yes, you may have worn a mask, but it would have been so nice if you went home for some rest. I think all of the cancer patients(especially those undergoing treatment and have no immune system) and even some of your coworkers, would thank you! I’ve been so impressed by how lovely the inside of this center is, how quick the registration process was, and how thoughtful the therapist was here. For anyone who has to undergo any of these types of treatment or therapy, this center is an incredibly serene place.

I do not regret my experience with the St. Joseph oncology department one bit. This facility is across the street from the hospital and has its own parking structure($ 2.50 with validation) and valet($ 5). The building is beautiful inside and out and everyone is very helpful. When I wasn’t able to go with my mom to chemotherapy, she told me that nice people would wheel her where she needed to go and help her. There is a Quest Diagnostics office, chemotherapy office, and radiology office. I only ever went to the second floor and basement, so I don’t know what the other floors have. I can’t tell you how many times a staff member went above and beyond to do something for my mom. They always put a lot of effort into making her feel as comfortable as possible. Inside her doctor’s office, there was a relaxing atmosphere with flatscreens showing tropical beaches and a ton of fairly recent magazines. The first floor has a nice waiting area with a player piano. The WiFi was pretty good, but it didn’t reach some rooms. The chemo office had nice private rooms with TVs. My mom worked mostly with Dr. Winston Ho and Ms. Cathy Velasco. They were both phenomenal and able to easily diagnose her conditions. My mom felt that Dr. Ho was a bit bristly and preferred Ms. Velasco’s sweet bedside manner, but I think Dr. Ho is just a straight shooter and doesn’t tip-toe around what needs to be said. Their personalities were very complementary and I think they are a great team. They had no problem staying around to answer questions, talk about options, or discuss changes in medications. If another facility wasn’t doing something right or following her orders, Ms. Velasco made the necessary calls to straighten things out. For that, I thank her. God forbid I ever need to come here again, but if I must choose an oncology department, I choose this one. They have the latest and greatest in treatment options, a wonderful staff, clean facility, and they’re very organized.
