I visited Suki’s on the hunt for my wedding dress. It was surprisingly small and there was only one changing room next to the big pedestal and mirrors. I had a list of dress styles within the designers they carry I wanted to try on, and they had almost none of them. The inventory was also all over the place in size. I couldn’t try some things on because they only had them in bridal size 2s but other things were hard to get an accurate feel for they were so large. The staff there were very young and mostly disinterested, but when trying to pick dresses to try on out of the smushed bags, they suggested one that I didn’t have on my list and didn’t particularly like in the bag, but I obliged. Turned out this dress would become my wedding dress, so kudos to them. There was also a jacket from another dress that I was in love with, and the owner Suki came out and helped me try the jacket on with my preferred dress, and patiently helped me try on several different hair and jewelry accessories and veils. Because I’m thrifty and had several more appointments that weekend, I left empty handed but almost certain the dress/jacket combo would be my dress. When I confirmed that, I called Suki’s and every store in the SETX/Houston area carrying these items to negotiate the price. For the Enzoani Dakota, Suki’s had a list price of over $ 2,300, while it was $ 1,960 at a Houston salon. Ultimately, Suki’s negotiated down but remained $ 100 over the Houston salon, so I went there. Thanks for helping me find my dress, wish we would’ve even able to make a deal.
