Everyone here has a great attitude and always made sure we felt comfortable. It was a little difficult to find the correct emergency room, but once found it was easy to get around and we felt very comfortable.

I could not be happier with my experience here. I had my son 2 weeks ago and everyone from my OB to the nurses and staff were amazing. I was absolutely nervous once I entered the operating room for my csection. But they went as far as putting on music and trying to get me to dance with them so I’d relax and help me with my fears. The nurses all helped me with my recovery and we’re always available and willing to help when I’d call. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. The food was satisfactory, I almost didn’t order the salmon based on someone else’s review on here, but I actually ended up ordering it twice during my stay. Now that I’m home I wish I was back, lol I guess I was pretty spoiled there. I drove from Corona to here for my prenatal care and delivery and it was def worth it.

They always do a great job, this is where my wife had our first son together, and both my son and her received good care.
They have a great facility, most nurses were on the ball and bringing us whatever we asked, however the cleaning lady and another nurse were super lame. But when you staff that many people, your bound to find a couple of duds.
The actual structure of the hospital is enormous, the grounds are gigantic, I got lost about 12 times. The architectural structure is beautiful.
They have a connection from urgent care.
If you are going to urgent care prepare for a long wait. They are swamped most times.
Overall great service.

I was told to come by 1:30 but I was not called in until 2:30. At 2:30 all I did was meet with a nurse and then had to wait another hour and a half to actually meet with the doctor. Don’t understand why they didn’t just tell me to come at 4 if they were going to have me wait until 4. If you have a meeting scheduled, don’t bother to come on time just come a few hours later.

Nurse Rachel in labor and delivery is fantastic. So is Nurse Jenni in the maternal recovery ward.

This updated review is strictly about the food. The hospital is a very very good hospital. The food though really needs help. I’ve been coming to St. Joe’s every month and get admitted 99.0% of the time. My stay here is pleasant the staff are all good people. The food service though. Every time I order they get something wrong. Every time I’m telling you they will get something wrong! The only things I order and recommend is the Scrambled eggs, English muffin, cream of wheat, oatmeal and fruit. That’s just for breakfast. For Lunch and dinner. Salmon, tilapia, any steamed veggies, pasta and the Asian stir fry. There is a high high chance that they’ll mess up the order though. The meats and chicken are always dry! The spring rolls aren’t spring rolls. All soups are bland and most of the time the fruit in the fruit cups aren’t ripe. Just have a friend or family member bring you your meals or just stick to what I recommended. Trust me.

Please do not make people that need medical attention asap wait for stupid people with colds. Terrible management

Arrived at 10pm & didn’t even get blood drawn/​weight/​height etc checked till 4 hrs later it is now 3 am and I am still waiting for a room to open up this is ridiculous. I can’t fathom how this became the best hospital but it is not. I wish to give no stars

I went to ER at this hospital almost a month ago, and had to be admitted over night. I expected better care than I actually got. I was moved from room to room throughout the night, due to the nurses lack of better coordination. I was lucky to have one nice nurse, as the others just seemed indiffirent, and uncaring!
Staying the night here was a nightmare! I hope I never have to return.

Emergency room nurse — alicia nelson– was completely rude. grabbed my arm and squeezed, leaving red marks in my arm, and shoved me towards another nurse to complain about me asking her a question — where the restroom was. worst experience ever. never coming back here.

I had a referral to go to the er by my doctor. When I arrived I waited. Then came time to go back and am greeted by Dr Gold and says what’s wrong with me I stated I was referred by my doctor due to medical condition. Dr gold then stated and I quote «this is not a candy facility, you should’ve gone to your doctor for that.» and then had me sign discharge papers. I went to my doctor or else I wouldn’t be in the Er. NOW I am being CHARGED for NO BLOOD TEST NO MEDICAL HELP NO MEDICINES what a joke why pay for something I didn’t receive help I became sicker and went to a different hospital where I did receive the quality and care I deserved. Sad to say they call this a MAGNET hospital

St. Joseph Hospital ER should be ashamed!!! The dark haired nurse performing the assessment in the beginning triage should be fired! You were working the night of July 31^st! I wish I got your name! As some of the reviews have stated this hospital is not for the elderly! My 80 year old father was rushed to the ER by my 79 year old mother! I told them I would meet them there to help. My father just had his gallbladder removed that was severely infected and my mother, who had a stroke a few years ago, was with him. When I arrived, they were talking with the triage nurse. My mother, who had to wheel him in by herself with no help, was standing next to him. My father had thrown up and was covered in barf all over his shirt, pants, wheel chair, and floor, no one offered to help him! Nurse «Ratched» was asking my father questions, which common sense would tell you most elderly are hard of hearing. My father didn’t hear her and my mother tried to help him answer. Nurse «Ratched» condescendingly laid into my mother. My father was also shaking and she condescendingly told him to stop shaking! How dare you treat my father like that!!! The least you could have done was offered him a hospital gown! You have no business being there and helping people especially the elderly! If I did that at my job I would be fired! I hope you are. St Joseph Hospital ER take notice! When Nurse «Ratched» finally said my father could go to a room she said I couldn’t go. I told her my mother needed help, was very sick and couldn’t push him and I didn’t want her to be alone. She said the back waiting room was full (which was a lie no one was in there). My mother even said please can my daughter help me. No! So sad! Finally, I got in with a police escort. While walking, with my escort, past the empty waiting room and rooms of many people of gang bangers waiting with their idiot kids hand cuffed to the bed!
Wow! how backwards! no respect for the elderly who are probably the only ones paying for their health Care! Shame on You
I do want to say, In the back, Nurse Scott and Lance were awesome and treated my father with the dignity and respect he and all elderly people deserves. That is why I gave 1 star, otherwise it would have been 0.

The hospital is beautiful, new, updated and the nursing staff is knowledgeable and approachable and really attentive. Taking care of sister here who just gave birth and they have been so helpful in her healing. The rooms are a nice size and have spots for visitors. Parking costs $ per hour and parking structure is close and large. The hospital is pretty big but there’s always someone that will point you in the right direction. It’s also connected to CHOC hospital thru a tunnel which we used to walk to and from the NICU. The nurses and staff there are also providing the best care for the babies. Shout out to the nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, techs, and volunteers that make that place a pleasure to visit. It meant the world to my sister!

Every time I’ve been to the St. Joseph Hospital ER my experience has been better. Dr. Mattel and the nursing staff, Erlinda & Lance were wonderful! They were all so professional and caring towards my father. They treated him with such care and dignity. I truly appreciated it.
There are moments in our lives where we are completely vulnerable and many things are beyond our control. Being in the ER is one of those moments. We hand over control to health-​care professionals to help us or our loved ones during these critical times. In addition to the expected professional care, the gesture of kindness makes such a difference. When the hospital gown was falling off my father, it was very kind of Erlinda to reach over to quickly cover him before I did. When there were embarrassing moments, both Erlinda and Lance made it more comfortable through their actions and consistent reassurance that everything would be okay.
I totally understand that when you’re exposed to this environment everyday it can be mind numbing. Every person can just be summed up by their illnesses. However, we as patients don’t have emergencies every day. So the one imminent emergency is very important to us.
This time I encountered a lesson learned. I should have one person go in the ambulance if possible. This was the first time I drove my mom following the ambulance. The problem with this is that we were not allowed into the ER until the patient gets registered into the system. I think it took about 20 minutes because the hospital was really busy, which is understandable. But on the flip side the front office needs to understand that we are the patient’s champion. What I mean by that is sometimes the patient may not be completely coherent. The patient may not be able to communicate efficiently nor effectively due to pain, frustration, language barrier, etc. In these moments I become my father’s champion. I have to step in and ask questions for him when he is unable to do it himself.
So to the front office staff, it’s not just a frivolous request to be beside our loved ones in these critical times of our lives. I understand that you are just doing your job as the gate keeper, but also understand our position as the caregivers.
Bottom line… St. Joseph Hospital ER is a pretty awesome place to receive emergency care. It’s not perfect, but rarely is anything perfect in life. There are some very professional and caring staff working hard in the back. Keep up the great work! :-)

I loved my experience at st Joe’s. I was in labor all day and had an incredible labor/​delivery nurse named Stacey. I ended up with an emergency c section. The recovery was really rough but I had two incredible nurses in the mother baby unit — Jenni and Lori. They really made my experience and first days of recovery so much better.
The hospital supplied so much for us including diapers, wipes, blankets, pads…
St Joe’s followed up with us at their assessment center a few days after we were discharged. The assessment center was ok. Not the same quality people. Our appt was at 1030 and we finally saw the nurse at 1115. Luckily our newborn was in a good mood.

My wife just had delivery c-​section there. I can say its a great hospital with nice nurses. Me and my wife would like to thank Wendy, Tebby and the nice back nurse assistance named comfort I think. They are greatttttttt. Thank youuuuuuuu so much. We wish you all the best and will pray for you forever.
There are also some nurses specially at night with less experience. In total the hospital service was great.

This is not an ER. THis is awaiting department. I woke up this morning with major pain. I called my brother to find out what might my pain be (he’s a dr overseas). I explained my situation and told me: You have a kidney stone and rush to ER. I took his advice and drove to ER (He was right.) I had a severe pain upon arrival. They keep asking me a stupid question while I was under a pain. Even I did draw the Security Guard’s attention by the amount of pain that I was experiencing it. I was waiting for 2 hours and then Dr came in and talked to me for 1 min (what the hell!) And then wait… Finally, a nurse showed up and gave me murphin.
One of the comment that I read says: Broken leg, pregnant ladies… I am very unlucky by not living in my Country. perhaps some situation made me to live in this Country but I will never ever planning to live rest of my life. Is this called Emergency Room? That’s how you treat people by calling your self an ER?

My good friend Omar Grech told me about volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital. He has such a great time volunteering for them and has served on the Board of the DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) and moderated a DBSA Support Group. Omar talked about meeting and volunteering with great people and how much fun he had giving back to the community.
After encouraging me to volunteer, I met with Jerry Malugeon of the DBSA Resource Center, a non-​profit housed in the Sister Elizabeth Building on the 2^nd floor. You turn left after you exit the elevator and it is down the hall past the Nurse’s Station. Also on this floor is the Sleep Disorders department, which helps people with sleeping disorders such as insomnia. Speaking with Jerry Malugeon got me interested in volunteering and I have volunteered there for 1.5 years.
St. Joseph Hospital believes in «Sacred Encounters» and at this hospital, staff are helpful and kind. I haven’t ever experienced rudeness or anyone who was too busy to help. Sometimes the hospital is a little confusing because many of the departments look the same. There seems to be always someone who can help you find your way.
The DBSA Resource Center has been a rewarding place to volunteer at, full of new experiences and knowledge. The Center is staffed by volunteers. Annette is often in the office, which has brewed coffee and her sparkling wit. The Resource Center has brochures, a helpful newsletter called «The Rollercoaster Times» and issues of BP (Bipolar) Magazine and issues of Esperanza. They are offered free of charge.

(714) 744‑8718. Annette, Lori, Carla or one of the many volunteers can help you with issues arising from Bipolar Disorder, Depression and Schizo-​Affective. They also offer information about NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Ask about the DBSA and NAMI support groups which run free of charge.

Sooo if you read my review on Skyzone, my boyfriend broke his foot attempting a front flip, and landing all on his right foot = ouch = trip to ER. Where do we go? St Joseph’s of course!
We arrive at the ER at around 11:30 on a Saturday night. & it’s full. You got pregnant ladies, cancer patients who can’t breathe, people with little aches & pains, etc. So we checked in, all good, & I say we waited a good 30 minutes before we got transferred to another room. Meanwhile, 2 pregnant ladies were given attention first & didn’t have to wait around. Is a broken foot not an emergency? I just found it weird how it took FOREVER to get some medical help!
So we got called into room 2. More waiting. Not as long though, probably around 16 minutes. After room 2 we made our way into room 3 i believe. There were not as many people in room 3 as the first two rooms. We waited quite awhile in room 3. After he got the X-​rays, we still waited in this area, we were waiting for a bed so he could lay down. Meanwhile, this other couple comes in, I’m not sure what her problem is, but she was given a bed first before us. How unbelievable. From what I observed, it looked like she just had stomach pains, & she wasn’t even laying on the bed, just sitting on the edge. All of the other rooms were full as well, which was weird because of how late it was.
I don’t want to go into all the detail, but I am disappointed in this hospital, I feel we were not given the attention needed as fast as possible. I felt we were put on the back burner because of all the waiting.
