This spot is so great and the $ 5 Tuesday’s are such a good deal. Been here many of times and hope to return.

Our family tried Pizza Project tonight. After having been to other build-​your-​own pizza establishments like Blaze, Pizza press, Pieology, and Zig Zag pizza, we felt that Pizza Project certainly should be in the discussion when deciding on best build-​your-​own pizza joint. To me, the quality and taste was similar to other. Although I have not put them all up to a side by side taste test, none really stand out to me.
As for Pizza Project:
Pros: 1) Pizza Project had great value prices (less than other similar alternatives). They had a price for just cheese, one topping, or build-​your-​own. Prices also depended on the size (11″ or 15″) and type of pizza you choose (thin crust or hand tossed). 2) There were plenty of choices for toppings, spread, etc. 3) They had a build-​your-​own salad option ($ 5 for a half order & $ 8 for a full order). 4) They have four options for sides/​dessert (bread stix, cheesy stix, cinnamon stix, and sweet tooth) for $ 4 – 5. And they even have gelato or sundae options! 5) The soda fountain had unique selection of drinks from Stubborn & Izze.
Cons: 1) It’s nice to have two size options, but the price points did not make sense. For example, you can get an 11″ cheese thin crust pizza for $ 5, but the 15″ thin crust pizza was $ 12.50. More than double for just 4″ more; would everyone be better off getting two 11″ pizzas?! Wonder if they sell many 15″ pizzas. 2) Not really a con, but it would be nice to have beer options (bottled or draft). After all, pizza and beer is a good combination, right?! 3) It didn’t matter to me because I liked having the unique carbonated drink options that they had, but those who prefer the typical sodas only had diet and regular Pepsi options.
Tips: Come on Tuesdays when it’s $ 5 for a build-​your-​own 11″ thin crust (normally $ 8.50). Also, make sure to check into Unilocal to get your free scoop of gelato!

Wow! really good pizza! The lady I care give for, noticed the garlic. The crust was on point, and the employee’s attitudes were great. I like the way the restaurant looks inside too, not too bright on lighting. The sauce was a bit thin, but it was still good. I want to come back, and also try their dessert!!!

ROASTED CORN on pizza?! Count me in.
This is a new build-​your-​own pizza place you’ve probably never heard of cause it’s not a chain restaurant, but it beats the hell out of all the rest. Forget Pielogy, forget Pizza Hut. This is where you need to be!
Here’s what you need to know:
— Toppings galore. They have everything Pieology/​Blaze has and more.
— They don’t skimp. I’m not joking, at most places I have to keep telling them to add more of an ingredient. Here, I have tell them to go easy bc they really load it all up.
— Thin or thick crust. TRY THE THICK CRUST! Seriously. I took my leftovers home and microwaved it the next day, still fresh as yesterday.
* More ingredients = go with the thick crust. Easier to handle into your mouth!
— Tuesdays are $ 5 build-​your-​own 11″ pizzas. $ 1 off with student id. Thank me later.
Top layer of the pizza including crust is crunchy with a soft, elastic middle. They’ve really perfected the dough here.
Service is amazing. Workers are friendly, fast, and attentive. Owner guy Frank is awesome!
There’s ample seating and clean tables all around. There’s a cream soda machine with interesting flavors by Stubborn, all made without high fructose corn syrup. There’s also regular soda like Dr. Pepper for those who want the classic.
Only con? Being tempted to come here every Tuesday for their $ 5 unlimited topping pizza deal, which is dangerous for gym-​goers like me. Buuut, I’d take this as my cheat day any day. Great job!

Options! Options! Options!!! If I were a mathematician, I would tell you how many exact combinations you can make at this build your own pizza joint, but I’m not, so all I have to say they offer so many ingredients, that if you try them all, you would be made of pizza. What I do enjoy more than just the number of ingredients they offer is how fresh their ingredients are. I have tried my fair share of BYOP places (i.e. Pieology, Blaze, 800-​Degrees, Urban… even at the University Cafeteria), I must say Pizza Project is easily by far my go to.
Pros…
Ingredients are fresh! They have options galore, including choosing between thin crust and hand-​tossed. Depending on what ingredients I’m craving, my recommendation would be simple (3 ingredients or less) on thin crust and pile it on (more than 3 ingredients) should be on hand-​tossed. This tip will be a huge tip for when you’re handling it into your mouth, so that the ingredients don’t cause your dough to collapse. Trust me… there is a science to my madness.
Service is fast and efficient, even on busy days… I’m calling you out Tuesdays! Tuesday is their special day ;) So be patient!
Extras… Try their dessert pizza. Especially if you have a sweet tooth like me. You can never go wrong with Nutella and banana combo on anything.
Cons…
The thought of this place makes me extra hungry, hence, it’s making me hit the gym a little harder.

Oh my goodness my new obsession. I was able to get a garlic butter sauce instead of the usual red that gives me heartburn and wow is it good. Healthy yeah right but seems pretty straight forward. It’s the chipotle of pizza in all ways that are good. Our service was good and our food is yum yum.

On a diet? No worries, this place won’t break your calorie chart (or the bank). They feature the ultra thin pizza crust. The pizza crust is really special here. It is thin & rich in flavor with a crunchy top layer and elastic middle. I noticed that they are very generous with their toppings, especially the cheese.
Their service is build-​your own pizza style similar to that of a pizza chipotle. They put the pepperoni on last, at the top which leaves a crispy finish to the pizza.
Their soda selection is also amazing here! They feature all natural sugar as a healthier alternative to normal soda machines. This place is definitely one of the healthiest pizza joints I’ve ever come across. Come here for their Tuesday specials! You get a 11′ pizza for only $ 5 with unlimited toppings! Nothing beats their fresh ingredients.

Had my favorite make your own pizza and decide to try pizza project. I have to so say I was really impressed. I like that they give you the option of thick or thin vs all the others don’t. All there ingredients was fresh and tasted was amazing. This is my new pizza spot.

Decided to give this place a try since we were in the area and it just opened. It was pretty empty when we came on a Friday afternoon.
This place is pretty cheap compared to Pizza Press or other build-​your-​own pizza places! An 11 inch pizza with unlimited toppings came out to be about $ 8. They have a large variety of herbs that other places don’t seem to have.
They leave lemons out for you, so take advantage of it and squirt a bit of lemon on your pizza for that tangy kick to your meal!
The main downside is that the service here is not as attentive. It was completely empty but the workers here don’t seem to care very much about your dining experience. One of the workers across the counter kind of just threw the pizza at us…
I probably would come back if it’s just for convenience and price. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here. The «let’s come back» factor isn’t exactly there.

Unfortunately, these types of subway style pizza joints are popping up all over the place. Their uniqueness is beginning to disappear, leaving their differences to mainly their sauce, and wether it’s a brick oven or conveyer belt.
Then they all aim for a different look and feel, but even those are beginning to blend.
So for Pizza Project — it’s good. Wasn’t ultra-​great like OMG I’m going to make this my go to place for pizza, but it was good. They do have thick or thin crust options which I haven’t noticed at similar places. I opted for thin. The sauce, which can be a deal breaker for me, worked. Again, nothing exploded in my mouth to tell me this was the bomb of all sauce, but it was good. Toppings were standard with a few variations; another way the different pizza joints are trying to be different.
Service was speedy and efficient and it passed the microwave pizza test. But again, it’s just A-​OK in my book. If you’re craving for pizza, and you’re in the area, I would check it out, and I might go there again.
They (currently) have a $ 5 Tuesday pizza special, which I partook in, which is cheaper than a #3 meal at McD’s.

$ 5 Tuesdays! For an 11 inch thin crust pizza. Pretty good deal I could only finish about half.
Ordered the meat lovers which came with all the meats (meatball, sausage, bacon, ham, pepperoni).
Like Unilocalers say, they put way too much cheese, the cheese was falling off my pizza along with the toppings.
I would give 3 stars because it was kind of bland, no flavor or seasoning or spices. Felt kind of plain. The crust was also kind of hard, doughy, and bland as well.
Still worth a shot, and that $ 5 deal makes it 4 stars!

Finally made a trip there last Saturday. All in all a good pie for a reasonable price! I really liked having the option to pick a thin crust vs thicker crust. Topping options were a little bit more diverse (kale on a pizza! yes!). Unique soda choices were refreshing.
Seating area was a little bit awkward. If you’re seated closest to the line, you have to weave you’re way through all the other tables which can be a problem if everyone is scooted out on theirs chairs. Not a huge issue.
Personally I think Blaze is still my go to, but I wouldn’t say no to this place.

Really love «Pizza Project». 2^nd time we’ve been here and it is just as great as it was 1^st time we tried it.
We like thin crust pizza with tons of toppings and that is exactly what we got. Each pizza is made to order and when you ask for sauce, cheese or any additional topping they put it on and in a good amount. I have not had to ask for more cheese or condiments one time. Pizzas look great, taste great and we will be back again.

Tasty, close to home, make my own, after church, easy and yummy!

The owner is very nice. Like to support local business. Tuesday’s the 11″ is only $ 5. But even regularly it’s only $ 7.50.

I’m definitely a fan of Pizza Project. I’m so glad they opened here in the city of Orange! They are actually very similar to Blaze, which is not too far away (old town Orange/​Orange Circle). You make your own pizza and go down the assembly line similar to the Chipotle one next door. Pizza Project shares the same parking lot as Jersey Mike’s and Chipotle, but I think they attract more business than their neighbors. The parking lot has plenty of room. It’s great.
What stands out about Pizza Project is that they offer two different crusts: hand-​tossed or thin crust (50 cents cheaper). I actually prefer the thin crust because it gets more toasty after it comes out of the oven. It’s also the one they use during their $ 5 Tuesday special — you get a thin crust pizza made your way for only $ 5! Also, they have cream soda made by Stubborn, which is a company that uses agave in their drinks rather than HFCS (high fructose corn syrup). I love it! They have Dr Pepper on the side though.
I’ve been here maybe two or three times and the service is on point every time. The servers are so generous with the toppings that everything almost falls off the pizza — this could be a good or bad thing. Everyone is really nice here, even when they’re busy on Tuesdays. Keep smiling, Pizza Project!
Lastly, I don’t like that Pizza Project is just across the street from a high school and close to a number of elementary and middle schools. This attracts a lot of the very young crowd. There are always kids in here after school hours. It’s very family friendly.
But I still like it here! I hope they continue doing what they’re doing because it’s great. Students should take advantage of their $ 1 off deal with student ID.

I absolutely love this place. It’s affordable and the service is top notch. Frank, the owner, is an exceptional person and makes sure that you are well taken care of. Unlike their competitors, like pieology, they actually offer different sizes! On top of that, they also have a better selection of toppings, sides, and et cetera. you also get to choose between hand tossed or thin crust. Most places only offer the latter.
They roll out the dough made to order. They have an array of toppings to choose from, and Just like Chipotle they construct your pizza as you choose your ingredients. The pizza also comes out of the oven rather quickly.
If I lived close by, I’d be dining here every day.
Anyway, I highly recommend the pizza project. Try it out… You will not regret it!

Not my favorite personal pizza place, but for the convenience (down the street from my house) it’s better than most other conventional pizza shops.
I had the meat lovers, which was great — but the crust was my least favorite. I had ordered thin crust and this was like an inch thick almost! It made me really glad I hadn’t ordered «regular crust» or I may have walked out with a Chicago deep-​dish!
Fiancé had the garlic chicken, which tasted fine but also not our favorite pizza.
For the 11″ the price was great and apparently on Tuesdays it’s only $ 5, but it’s a HUGE price jump if you order the 15″ ($ 25!!!).
Glad this place opened up, but I’d be a little hesitant spending more money on something that is not what I ordered.

This place was fantastic. Great customer service got through line with ease and plenty of seating even on a busy night with the great deal of $ 5 pizzas… not to mention the $ 5 pizzas were fresh and made to order! Nowhere else can you get this deal and quality food! Staff was kind and courteous. I will definitely be back. Maybe even on a weekly basis. Already referring my colleagues and friends…
Update: went back this week, same great deal, same great service, still great pizza… quite possibly a weekly tradition.

Seems to that build your own pizza places are popping up almost as fast as Poki joints. This on is on a good spot, down low on Chapman, next to a Chipotle. So if someone in the crew isn’t into pizza, you have options.
I tried the hand tossed crust, and it was good. I don’t care if it is hand tossed or machine rolled, I just like the slightly thicker dough. Fixings are standard, though they have a few extra meat options, like anchovies.
The price is good, though I’ll wait for the beer license before I make this a regular dine in spot.

Spontaneously tried Pizza Project last Tuesday and am happy to report that it was great! I really liked it compared to pieology, blaze, pizza press etc. On Tuesday they had a deal for $ 5 thin crust pizza.
They have two different types of crusts thin and pan, that both come in two sizes 11 inch and 15 inch. The thin crust is on the thicker side and I actually really like it. The employee’s placing the toppings on the pizza were very meticulous they took the time to evenly place everything on the pizza. Not too sure how this works out if its busy.
The pizza was baked perfectly. When eating it the toppings actually stayed on the pizza and the crust was really nicely baked. I would love to come back it’s actually just a little bit out of the way.
