Excellent, professional service and communication. I had a simple uncontested divorce and wanted to save money, however once I obtained do-​it-​yourself documentation and instructions, I realized that California divorce law and paperwork was very complex to anyone outside of the legal field. I was in over my head. Attorneys wanted a $ 10,000 retainer… for a simple divorce. Luckily I stumbled upon Cindy of Paralegal Services, who, for a fraction of what an attorney would charge, helped me with all of the paperwork, walked my documents through the court, and even took advantage of a recent change expediting the divorce, all the while clearly communicating the process and her progress through the court system. I obtained my divorce finalized in 6 months and 1 day after filing the paperwork. (6 months is the minimum required waiting time in California to obtain a divorce.) I highly recommend Cindy. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor made the legal process of an otherwise sad situation (divorce) effortless on my part.

Unlike many paralegals, she wants to see you happy and gets a sense of fulfillment out of helping you. Cindy has been practicing family law for over 20 years and is the best Paralegal you are ever going to find. She is professional, friendly, funny, and knows more about the subject than most lawyers. She sincerely cares about you and does everything in her power to make sure you are happy. I’ve talked with many paralegals and I have to say, she is hands down the best.
The negative comments just seem out of touch with reality. Cindy clearly communicates the process to you in a way that anyone can understand. Upon your first contact from her you feel no pressure whatsoever. She gives you updates and promptly returns your calls and emails as she helps you through your divorce. Not only are you hiring a Paralegal but you are making a friend. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

I can’t believe Cindy is still in business. She is arrogant, rude, and unresponsive. She made a few mistakes with our paperwork and when we mentioned it to her, she became extremely defensive and did not apologize for the mistakes. The whole process was supposed to take 6 months, and it is going on 1 year now. We try to call and email Cindy at least once a month, but she has not replied to our emails or returned our calls. Her communication needs work. There are a few other paralegal services out there and regretfully, we should have chose a different one.

Sometimes things get delayed and mistakes happen. I’m not writing this review to complain about that, rather I want to write about her unprofessional behavior regarding our phone conversation. Cindy is one of those people that never apologizes for her mistakes, she will without a doubt try her best to shift the blame on someone else. I’m going to list all the things that went wrong when I hired Cindy to help file for a divorce. My divorce was a very simple divorce, with no assets to split, Cindy even told me that it was going to be a an easy one. Although I could have filed for my own, I was seeking her services for her expertise on the documentation and for someone to advise me about the filing process. Was that too much to ask?
1) Cindy had me get some papers notarized however, once I got there, the names that were on the last page where we are supposed to sign and date was not filed under our name! (i’m guessing that she uses her previous documents as a template and she carelessly skimmed it through without double checking it). For someone that has done this for 20 years, she sure has an efficient system when it comes to filing something like this.
2) No replies or updates, EVER! It has been a year since we hired her. I have not heard back from her since July when we got the papers notarized. It has been four months so I got a little anxious especially because she doesn’t reply to my emails nor phone calls. And after finding that mistake, I thought maybe there were more mistakes that I didn’t catch. So finally, I decided to call again and this time, she returned my call only after I complained to the receptionist how she failed to get back to me in the past.
3) The Phone call, when all hell breaks loose! By this point, I was actually just fed up with her, I just wanted to know if the divorce is finalized. She pulls up my record and says that it is filed and that it’s out of her hands. She kept explaining to me that the court was behind, which I completely believe. However, it was not until she kept repeating that there’s nothing she can do, unless I want to call them directly and bother them. I told her «no, I don’t need to call them, I don’t mind if it takes a while, I’m just concerned that it was filed incorrectly because it was taking double the time you said when we initially started.» Then she flipped out and said that the court was two months behind… (the math didn’t add up, it has been 11 months since we first submitted the divorce papers. 6 months + 2 months is still only 8 months) So I explained to her my concerns that I thought maybe something went wrong, if there were more mistakes than the one I caught. And her reply was, «What mistake? I didn’t make any mistake, I’ve been doing this for twenty years.» So I had to search for my emails to point it out to shut her up. Well, it didn’t. She never acknowledged that she made a mistake, she tried to shift the blame on me. When I explained how she had someone else’s name on our document, she said, «you weren’t supposed to get that, you could have just tossed it out.» News flash Cindy! THEN WHY DID YOU SEND IT TO ME? and how is that my fault for not knowing to toss that out?
She is the worst! talking to her will make anyone go insane! If you are looking to get your papers filed in an efficient manner without any mistakes, I advise that you go somewhere else.

After thinking I was smart enough to do everything on my own, and having the final paperwork kicked back from the courthouse for «missing information», I knew I needed to hire a professional to finish my divorce process. I was referred to Cindy l and will refer her in the future to anyone and everyone I come in contact with that would need her services. All these other reviews are spot on! Professional, courteous, patient, and she listens. She responded to my «novel» long emails and multiple phone calls promptly and had the answer to every question within. Cindy had my divorce completed fast and now that I can relax and breathe I have time to write this review! Despite the negativity surrounding a divorce Cindy helped make it as positive a situation as possible.

Went to a paralegal that my ex had recommended only to find out that 6 months after we had filed for divorce, that our divorce was rejected! When I called our paralegal, he was nowhere to be found. I went to the courthouse to try to get information. The first day I waited in line just to be sent to another floor and then that office was closed. Came back a second day and after waiting an hour, I decided to Unilocal to find a paralegal instead of wasting my time. Thank goodness I found Cindy! Apparently the last paralegal had filed it incompletely.
Cindy was great! She helped me throughout the process and I’m happy to say that I was able to finalize my divorce. Don’t bother going to the courthouse yourself. Just call Cindy. She’ll get the job done and her price is very reasonable!
