This is a place to come in, eat, and get the F out. Food is not fresh and margaritas are bad. Over priced food too.

Horrible service. Sat for 20 min before they took our drink order. Then sat for God knows how long before we just up and took off. Used to come here as a kid and loved the food and service. Sad it has gone to this.

This place was a huge disappointment. We ordered two margaritas and you could taste the sweet&sour mix. HORRIBLE! As soon as we ordered, the food was out in less then 5mins. This means that they have all the food under food heaters. Nothing tasted fresh.
I ordered a taco salad… How do you fuck up a taco salad???
Service was horrible too. They think they can charge more because they have mariachi music. I know mariachis and those were not mariachis. STAY AWAY PEOPLE!!!

This place is an utter joke. Walked in to order takeout and the lady behind the register had a nasty lunch-​lady type attitude. Asked for no beans, got a plate full of beans. $ 11 for one taco? Get the hell outta’ here — never be back again!

Ummm don’t get the Unilocalers 4 and 5 star reviews. Perhaps this was just an off night for the restaurant.
Won’t be back… food was bad at best. It can’t be that hard to make decent food.

This place has been dear to my family for many years. Unfortunately, something has happened over the last year that has changed the mindset of management, or should I say, the owners. I was late to a birthday party (group of 60+), so I decided to sit in the patio so I wouldn’t be distracting.
It took 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me, another 20 minutes to take my meal order, and another 10 minutes to get silverware. Mind you, a party of 8 had 2 people waiting on them the entire time.
When I approached the owners daughter she got very defensive and began to question if I was even part of the big birthday group. One of her statements was «I know XXXX for years and I’ve never seen you here!» How is that relevant? She then proceeded to tell me she had already said sorry and she wasn’t sure what more I wanted.
Well, as we all know, the customer service and hospitality industry does not normally take a mediocre stance like this after literally insulting a customer. I’m an executive director at a customer service organization, and if anyone under my leadership ever spoke to a customer in this manner, they would be out of a career.
I feel this restaurant has lost touch with all customer centric energy… So unfortunate.

Called to try to see how busy they are and if we could get in. they asked me to hold then it sounded like they dropped the phone. After 5 min of hearing them talking in the background I hung up. Called back 5 min later and it was busy. Guess I was still on hold. Too bad I loved this place when was younger. Hadn’t been there in 15 years and was going to take a big group of friends that had never been there. Guess they don’t need the business.

I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars based on the fact that they lack more selections in breakfast. But I’m adding an extra star due to the great exceptional service and the fact that my chilaquiles with eggs over easy were very good. The red sauce was tangy and yet a little spicy… It was very delicious.
I never once had asked a server for more coffee or champagne… they were constantly pouring.

I’m always hunting for the Best Taquitos and hands down Morenos has them. The hard shell tacos, rice, beans are also great. The Chairs could be updated for a nicer experience ;)
Great patio!!!

Just moved here from South County and needed a new go-​to Mexican spot. This place is great. Very authentic tasting. They dont try and get too fancy. Great, simple food. The outdoor patio is awesome. Love the jalapenos, onions and carrots with the chips and salsa.

Nice patio area and great customer service from the staff, unfortunately the food was not good at all and I felt it was overpriced for the quality and lack of flavor the dishes offered.
Their brunch menu is a la carte so if you are looking for a buffet option, look elsewhere.

My husband and I drove past Morenos on a Sunday after the Irvine zoo. We decided to try it after my husband told me a co worker recommended it.
We are bar sitting people so we skipped the patio and went inside to the bar. I ordered a skinny margarita which was pretty tasty and fresh. Chips and salsa were ok.
A mariachi band stood behind us and played really loudly to the point I thought we might have to move. We could hardly talk over them playing.
We both ordered two tacos, beans and rice.
I could barely finish my two tacos they were so HUGE! My husband ate one and had to take the other one to go. The rice was soft and fluffy just like I like it.
We would be back when we are super hungry because the portions are big.

the review: Two Buttons Undone. This is the first time we BOTH had to unbutton our jeans, seriously, and our leftovers may be both my breakfast and lunch tomorrow. Though there is a huge bustling patio perfect for big groups, we both got 2 huge, non greasy tacos, creamy beans and fluffy rice in the cantina, where friendly Tony kept insisting it was my house, with our backs to the mariachis so we don’t feel mariachi anxiety.

Love this place! Best place in OC for taco Tuesday. The food is great, service has always been excellent for us. The ambience is amazing, it is such a beautiful historic building. On a nice evening be sure to eat on the patio beneath the stars and under the huge beautiful trees, which are lit up wonderfully.
