I went to see Dr. Applebaum for a spot I had on my nose and he ended up caring for that and other things I had going on. He explains everything and is thorough. Highly recommend him.

Every time I make an appointment to come to Dr. Dangeran I have to make sure I take an entire day off of work. It is always at LEAST an hour wait to get in to Dr. Dangeran from your scheduled «appointment» time. Very unprofessional with a huge lack of care or consideration for her patients lives and time. Not sure if she is always late in to work or what but the rest of the doctors seem to see their patients closer to their scheduled appointment time… shouldn’t that always be the case? I guess it’s my own fault I keep coming back HOPING she’ll have more consideration next time around. This will definitely be my LAST visit. I’ll be seeing Dr. Applebaum from now on!

I came here looking for a solution for my acne. The staff here is the WORST. Every time I go I sit in the waiting room for at least 20 minutes.
When my name is finally called, Dr. Dangaran’s nurse was extremely cold. When we got to the room, she just went down the list of questions on their iPad, and clearly couldn’t care less about how I was actually doing. It also took her 3 tries to draw my blood; I’ve never had that problem before.
Then I waited another 10 minutes for Dr. Dangaran, and she spends all of 5 minutes talking to me, blowing off my questions and concerns. She wanted me to go on a very serious medication without telling me any of the side effects or giving any real information about the drug at all.
I hear Dr. Applebaum is good, but after my experiences, I’m done with this place. There are so many better offices out there.

The staff were all very pleasant to me! I didn’t have to wait for my appointment and I had a consult with the sweet medical aesthetician Jonell. I had some questions about my skin and what treatments where available. She was very knowledgeable about skincare and made me feel at ease while discussing different types of skin peels. She was professional and answered all of my questions regarding the issues with my skin. She also provided me with great information about cool sculpting and I can hardly wait for my next appointment! I would recommend this dermatology office and Jonell for your skincare needs.

Went here for a skin cancer screening with Dr. Mary Jung thinking she might do a pretty thorough check on my skin as I drive a lot for my job and go out on the weekends to go hiking etc. I was wrong. First off, there was no interaction. Not even «how are you?» She then proceeded to tell me to take my clothes off. Once I did that, she checked me very quickly, missing a lot of areas. I did a research on self skin exam and she didn’t even do that. I went there for a reason. To get a second opinion and make sure I’m all good to go. Instead she goes on talking about how young I am and that Asians in general don’t get skin cancer. I already know that but there are environmental factors you need to consider (i.e. being in the sun a lot). To make matters worse, when I asked the nurse if Dr. Jung could take a look at a mole right by my eye (which wasn’t there before and had a bit of asymmetry), she said Dr. Jung already looked at it from afar while talking to me. I made a comment that I’m probably on my own on this and the nurse agreed.
NOTE: Don’t go here because Dr. Jung will pretty much tell you to do your own skin self-​exam. Waste of time, money, and gas going here.

Dear Orange Cosmetic and Laser Center,
Dr applebaum is terrific.
This staff lacks the administrational capabilities to provide any medical services at all. These belligerent buffoons epitomize the zenith of the problems facing the health care industry.
I highly recommend this office if you love the rude staff, long wait times, and the awkward scrolling on your phone while you wait for the doctor.
To everyone in the waiting room: I know you aren’t doing anything on your phone. I know you are just trying to avoid eye contact with everyone else. I know you are trying to figure out why everyone else is here.

Dr. Applebaum is the epitome of a good doctor, if not THE BEST. I had an appointment scheduled for a month away, but when I went to bring in my sister for her appointment I mentioned to Dr. Applebaum my concern about a growth on my forehead. He didn’t even hesitate, he quickly looked it over and identified it and removed it right then and there. No questions asked. No wait until your appointment. Just bam, got it done.
Just an overall amazing person. Bedside manner is phenomenal as he assures his patients that everything will be okay and done to fix whatever is ailing them. My sister who is suffering from severe acne was in tears at one point during an examination because she was so distraught about her appearance, but the good doctor assured her that everything was going to be okay and that there are solutions to alleviate her problems. He also makes sure that you don’t waste any money and finds ways to get you discounts on prescriptions and will gladly refill your prescription in lieu of additional doctor’s visits. Also, very generous with samples so you can try before you buy. It’s hard to make an appointment, it’s usually months away for a new patient appointment, but he is worth it. Definitely.

I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Dr. Applebaum. This was my first time here and everything went perfectly. The receptionists are friendly and quick to get everyone processed.
It was only a 10 minute wait to see Dr. Applebaum. This guy doesn’t mess around. He took care of business and got me out of there in about 15 minutes. All while making me feel comfortable and un-​rushed.
I don’t really want to go into why I was there for my visit but lets just say Vegas finally caught up with me. Totally kidding! I just had a little skin cancer scare that ended up being just that, a scare. Whew!
Big thank you to the doctor and staff.

I should waited to get an appointment with Jay Applebaum. He was booked out for a month and half and the receptionist said Dr. Mary Jung has an appointment available for the following week. I should have known better than to see her since she had so many available appointments.
Talking to her was very depressing. She had no energy and no facial expression. I first asked her about my stretch marks (from my pregnancy) and she said there is no treatment for this and if another physician tells me there is than they are lying. She basically said I had to live with them for the rest of my life. I asked her about my mole on my back that keeps getting bigger and she said not to get it removed because it leaves a nasty scar…
I also asked her about my acne. She said my acne wasn’t that bad and she has seen worse. I don’t care about other people’s skin and it doesn’t make me feel any better that there are people with worse skin. I only have one or two breaks at a time but I want it gone completely. I told her I tried all of the stuff at the retail stores including salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide and these products irritated my skin and made it worse. I told her I had SENSITIVE skin. So she gave me samples of these retinoids creams.
I went home feeling hopeless about my stretch marks/​mole but I at least felt excited about using the samples for my acne. A couple days later, my skin flared up and my entire face was covered in pimples. I didn’t go to work because I looked like a freak. I called the dermatology office and told them what happened and for Dr. Jung to give me a call. The receptionist calls me back and told me Dr. Jung left samples of Locoid for me to pick up which would bring down the irriatation. My skin did get better but I ran out of the Loccodi and asked for more samples since my skin kept flaring up after I stopped using it. Receptionist calls me back and said Dr. Jung won’t give me more samples because it will thin out my skin. Dr. Jung said she had a list of referrals for me to go to since she couldn’t help me anymore. WTF!!!
So I’m left with a problem I didn’t have before meeting with Dr. Jung… She didn’t have the courtesy to call me once… Listen Dr. Jung… this is my face… the first thing people see. I now walk around with my hair down and face down and try to cover my face as much as possible, NO THANKS TO YOU!!!

Dr. Sarah Stanowicz is an incredible dermatologist! She is so down to earth, easy to talk to, makes you feel very comfortable.
She’s honest and gives you options & her opinions on what is best for my skin.
Very happy with her and highly recommend.

I really like Dr Applebaum but Dang! this guy is so busy it takes FOREVER to get an appt. By the time its appointment day, i’ve forgotten why I needed to go to the Dr.
Dr Applebaum is a great doctor with a great chairside manner, I really like him but he needs to seriously control the patient flow… Too long of a wait.

Would have given a one star if Dr. Sarah Stanowicz wasnt decentt. She was attentive, very friendly and somewhat helpful. I didn’t really learn anything about my rashes but she did give me some free samples to try. The front desk was fine when I first went in but the admin there is terrible. They overcharged me and I had to call in for them to refund the cost. They just kept promising I would get my reimbursement back the following month. It’s been 3 months and I still haven’t gotten my money back yet. They are either crooks or their processing is just freaking bad.

I see that there are quite a few of scathing reviews on Unilocal.I really had no issues with this office at all.
I called their office after finding them on Unilocal.I wanted an appointment ASAP and said that I’d be okay with any doctor on staff. The woman on the phone was very nice and I had no issues.
They mailed me paperwork to my house, I had it filled out when I went to the office then waited 10 minutes to be called in. Dr. Sarah Stanowicz was very nice and has a great sense of humor. I needed a mole removed and it was a quick and (mostly) pain free process.
If I need to, I will come back to this office again!

Dr. Sarah Stanowicz is AMAZING! I had been to three different dermatologists in the past two years desperately searching for someone to help clear up my adult acne and Sarah was my savior! After my first consultation with Dr. Stanowicz I knew that she was determined to work on getting my skin clear and after two months I started to see relief!
If you are looking for someone who is kind and caring to help you with your dermalogical needs, Dr. Stanowicz comes highly recommened!

TERRIBLE! I went to this office 10 years ago during high school for acne treatment and had a wonderful experience then, so when I noticed a funny spot on my arm this morning I thought to call and make an appointment. Having new insurance I asked if I would be covered under my plan before making an appointment, and the receptionist that I spoke to was so rude and completely snobbish! She said that before I even make an appt that I had to receive a referral from my gp, to which I asked if I couldn’t just «come in.» She replied, «No one just ‘comes in.’» I was SHOCKED! I politely thanked her, hung up and logged right into Unilocal.
The other reviews seem to mirror my experience– that the doctors are wonderful and caring, but they seriously need to hold their receptionist staff accountable. Those ladies are the doctors’ practice’s first and last impressions!

Dr Applebaum is a great dermatologist. He has been helping my son with his on going hereditary scalp condition. He always gives us free samples and my sons condition is looking fantastic at the moment. My sisters sons have seen Dr. Applebaum to treat acne with great success as well.

I came to see Karol Dangaran several times. She’s great, very sweet and helpful. However, the people in the front desk are rude, and walking idiots who can’t get my prescriptions and appointments in synch. (I posted this a year ago but I think they have a newer staff which is better now)
As for Dangaran, her advice and prescription has helped me with my skin problems. However, my body has become immune and continually need stronger medications to take care of my problem. (Eczema, Blemishes) my new dosage seems to be working.

What is it with these rude front office people? I’m a first time patient who was trying to make an appt. and… Whoa, I got shocked out of my happy mood by the person answering the phone. I was unclear on which doctor I wanted to see. Instead of helping me she huffed and puffed and directed me their website. Hello, don’t you think I’ve already been there? I was calling for more info! She put me on hold and then said, «so which doctor did you want to make an appt with?». Before I could get another word out she said, «I’m on the switchboard, please hold!». Honey, I’ll do better than that… I’ll hang up, never call again and write about you on Unilocal

I have adult acne, have seen several dermatologists over the past 10 years, was looking for a dermatologist closer to home/​work, so I could make more frequent visits, found Orange Dermatology & Laser Center on Unilocal,of all places to find a doctor and was not dissapointed. I saw Dr. Sarah Stanowicz who was pleasant, informative, helpful, and most of all, really listened, which is a huge bonus when seeing a doctor, it isn’t always the case. I was very pleased with my experience here, friendly staff, minimal time in waiting room, really happy that I found a new dermatologist in OC.

First time here to get an allergic reaction to a lipgloss checked out. I was seen by Dr. Sarah Stanowicz. She was attentive, very friendly and super helpful. I felt very comfortable with her examining my non make-​upped face. She provided me with some prescription samples to abate the rash and asked me to come back for a follow up. Now that part seems a given, you have a medical issue (be it cosmetic in this case) and are suggested to come back… well this wasn’t my first dermatology-​rodeo-​show and this was the FIRST time I’ve been asked by the DR. to do a follow-​up. The other times with other derms, I’d have to ask them if I should schedule a return visit. Additionally, other derms have literally written me off with a prescription and sent me on my way.
Dr. Stanowicz was genuinely concerned about MY concerns. I like when a doctor/​medical professional sees me as more than another file to bill to the health insurance company. Hence, patient care. :)
The office staff are very friendly as well.
P. S. Dr. Stanowicz’s handwriting is completely legible, I love that!
